Yes. The winner of the round always gets a 10. The loser if its close / not a blow out gets a 9. Or if it's really dominant an 8.

A 7 or 6 is possible but they rarely if ever happen. 10-8 is usually the biggest gap you will see

They can remove a point for eye-pokes or groin-strikes. So if you're getting merc'd 10-8, and then poke the dude in the eye you could get a 10-7.

10-7 is possible, but incredibly rare. Last time I saw a 10-7 round was due to a fighter losing a point for an illegal groin shot (in a round they were already losing 10-8). Even 10-8 rounds aren't scored as often as they should be.

Why was so much of the thread rooting against Dillashaw?

In my very limited UFC experience, Dillashaw is by far my favorite fighter just because of his fighting style. He moves and fights like an advanced-tier fighting game character who has multiple stances.
