Rating agency Moody's says the unclear result from Britain's general election "does not directly threaten" the country's top-level Triple A rating.

Nice to see we're not going to need bailed out by Germany whilst creating a new government. :lol

Well that's encouraging news at least, even if the pound did crash.

Beeb's sources say high level tories unhappy with how their campaign was run, and also that they would not countenance vote reform as part of a deal with the Lib Dems.

So, Conservative MPs raging about how the campaign was done and not even dreaming about entertaining the thought of electoral reform.

Basically what anyone expected, then. Should be interesting to see Conservatives publically raging if they decide to!

And as that's one of the things Clegg campaigned on, will be willing to sacrifice it to quickly form a government? It might still be less painful then struggling to team up with Labour (which I'd rather see happen)

Well, that went well.

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
I really see absolutely no chance of a deal between Conservative and LibDems, definitely not if the Tories are offering no chance of PR.
But if LabLib coalition happens, they still don't have the majority seating?

How the hell does a minority government happen then?

Need to wait 4 mins for Papa Johns to open, then I'll look at the menu.

Ooh, Papa Johns are open longer, that's good to know.

Online ordering usually has a few discount code floating around as well.

No way, because politically getting electoral reform done trumps everything else as far as benefits to the Lib Dems.

They pass electoral reform with some regional parties and then blow the thing up and have another election which would lead to LabLib having a clear majority. Seems pretty simple to me.

I've got a chicken place downstairs within my building. I go down there, drop my order, come back here and the owner will deliver to my flat when it's ready. Korea truly is the promised land. A full chicken, deep fried, for about 7 pounds. Divine stuff.

And where was I with this political talk? The Tories have ruled out propoultry representation? Wait, sorry, proportional representation?

Guess we'll have to wait till 2 to see what Cameron might be willing to compromise on.
Or will it mostly be claiming they won are will be the next Government, the "WE SAY IT SO IT'S TRUE" idea.

Next few days are going to be very entertaining. A con-lib coalition would be hilarious.

It won't happen without fracturing both parties to breaking point. They're ideologically opposed.

If he's pragmatic he'll compromise, but then he has to face the elder statesmen of the party who are already dissatisfied with him. Quite the challenge.

What we really need is UKIP to save us form the Lab-Lib-Con coalition giving all our money to Indio-China to fight non-existent climate change.

Why is the beeb putting Solihull as a Lib Dem gain from Con? They gained it last election and held it this one.

and, yes, with the most seats and votes by a large margin Tories have the mandate to form a coalition gov. I don't like it but that's the way it is. Brown technically has first right but it's a formality. There's no way he can justify hanging on.

For all those spouting BS about Lib + Lab > Con, how would you like it if some minority party got all the extreme + indie seats together under a coalition that gave them the most seats altogether even if they got 3rd or 4th in votes?

What will happen is that maybe out of this election we will get 'New Conservative' ideology. With certain tribes of the Conservatives dieing out. Like New Labour killing off tribes of socialists.

Are we heading for a re-election then? con-lab? What are the realistic possibilities here?

Good luck with that, even Thatcher couldn't kill off the old conservatives and she was a much stronger leader than Cameron ever will be.

I'd applaud their political skill, and note that it wouldn't last very long. However, it would be legitimate.

The tories don't want a coalition with the lib dems, I don't think.

They want to form a minority government that has 'an understanding' with the lib dems...that would work on a vote-by-vote basis to make sure the numbers added up for them.

Coalitions aren't the only option. A coalition between the tories and the ld is indeed highly unlikely.

Conservative minority government or Labour/LD coalition. Either way, the UK will probably have another general election within a year.

I've been tempted to get them to deep fry me a pizza. I miss that shit more than you'll ever know.

IF this coalition would get more than 326 votes then I wouldn't mind at all, they'd still represent more of the people as a whole.
