Old Dimbleby would be there to stop it. Along with Paxocon and whatever the girl with the big iPad.

Who are these independents? As Lib/Lab can't govern on it's own without their support.

Well...SDLP go with Labour, apparently. SNP won't go with conservatives.

Sinn Fein abstain. The small Wales party...I get the impression from commentary that they'd likely lean Labour.

But yes, it would be a very 'rainbow' coalition.

Thinking about it and nodding along to the BBC commentary, Cameron really offered the Lib Dems f- all.

They also say the Lib Dems statement thing was just a rumour.

Two technically. One who was asked by the Tories to stand for them but she turned them down. The other wouldn't vote ally with the Cons either.

So Cameron attacks Labour for all the inquiries they have...and then decides to set up another one.

You will find lots of contradiction in the conservative party.

Non of the channels are mentioning the Clegg statement. Where did u guys get that from?
BBC mentioned it, but they seem to have just got it as a rumour and are doubting it now.

Is it cynical of me to think that Cameron is putting forward the offer to look good, knowing full well that the Lib Dems will reject it. Then he can run a minority government for a while then call another election and attack the Lib Dem's for not cooperating in an attempt to take some of their seats.

I wonder if an alliance with the Liberal Democrats would facilitate the Tories to declare they've got a mandate to rule in Scotland. The alliance would have 12 out of 59 seats (20%), 878,326 votes out of 2,465,722 (36%).

Labour in Scotland right now have 41 out of 59 seats (69%) and 1,035,528 votes (42%).

Labour fucking smashed everyone up here.

nope. i think it was pretty clever deflection. by talking with the tories first clegg made it easy for them to blame the tories if it failed, but cameron just managed to make no compromise at all sound like he was offering to compromise and put the ball back in clegg's court.

Also, again for fans of electoral reform:

Lib Dem votes in Scotland: 465,471
SNP votes in Scotland: 491,386

Lib Dem seats in Scotland: 11
SNP seats in Scotland: 6.

The nationalist and extreme winged parties will always look better in a PR system. That's how it works.

Pumping in current numbers doesn't exactly work because of people who vote tactically or don't even bother to vote because of safe seats.

Hung Parliament

The election has resulted in a hung Parliament. What do you want to see happen next?

Forming a gov with the Conservatives is hardly "betrayl". Drama queens already losing their grip on reality.

But an inquiry and even a referendum is nothing. Do you know how hard it is to explain the voting process? It'd never get past 50%.

Not quite right. In Canada the nationlist Bloc Quebecois looks better in FPTP than in PR. Parties with concentration of support look better in FPTP.
