I like Russel Howard too

Sean Lock, now there's a fucking funny comedian.
I've avoided the film simply because of how highly I regard the book. It could only disappoint, I think.

I think Michael McIntyre is hilarious, I even love his prancing.
My boyfriend can't stand him though. Calls him 'posh shouty man' or 'that annoying twat'. I've told him to try and look past the skipping around the stage, but he can't do it.
I also like Russel Howard. And Frankie Boyle.
None of them compare to Bill Hicks, Eddie Izzard or Bill Bailey though. Those guys are my heros.
And there's a special place in my heart reserved for Tim Minchin.

Frankie Boyle is worse if only because I really liked his stuff on Mock the Week and his first DVD.
Since then, he's gotten "creative" and it's all gone to shit. Tramadol Nights is the worst show C4 has ever done.
I just can't stand his schtick.

He was good in the early days of Mock the Week (is that show still going?) because the show generally stopped him from being too controversial for the sake of it. When he did say something controversial it actually stood out and for me was usually funny.
That show he did on Channel 4 was fucking woeful.

Oh I used to love Mock the Week. Not sure why I stopped watching it actually, Dara O'Brein is great.

It seemed to die off when Frankie Boyle left. By that point he and the show had stepped on so many toes I think the BBC shit the bed and stopped promoting it so much, edited it more harshly, and kept an eye on it. Wikipedia says it is still going though.

Yep. I mean, Tim Minchin has some material that could be considered controversial - Peace Anthem for Palestine, the Ginger song and the "I Love Jesus" one, but they're presented in such a way that it's not just "look at me, I'm dead controversial, me!" - there's actual humour behind it.
