My Game Experience Yesterday:

"snip".

Scandalous...

tell me about it.

I've been on the phone for most of the day trying to sort it out.

My bloody card even got blocked because the bank though it was fraud having two identical transactions so close together.

The experience in the store was bad enough - it took an hour to make a purchase that should have taken 10 minutes.... today has just been a complete joke.

Their HQ staff basically could not give a shit.

The sooner we get rid of game the better.

If your card fails are they not meant to give you a receipt to show it has failed for evidence with your bank?

That's what a shop did for me once when it declined my card for no reason.

The writing is on the wall for a place when not only are supermarkets cheaper but also offer better customer service. Incompetence doesn't even begin to describe what you posted, it's practically contempt for the customer.

GAME in the very old days used to be a real enthusiasts place, these days is just an example of the worst type of highstreet chain.

I hope you get your money back soon.

The till completely stopped working and they moved to another one. I did ask but they said as the reciept wasn't printed it did not go through.

Ah I see.

Very shit of them. You can understand the misfortune if it happening in any shop, but their attitude sounds horrendous. Just one more reason to hate them.

It's amazing to think that a specialist store like Game won't stock a niche title and you'll probably have more luck finding it at your local supermarket. I literally don't get the point of Game anymore. Their online store has the same prices as their instore ones (I mean, WTF indeed), they seemingly not stocking niche titles and their pre owned prices are a joke. Even when I worked there 6 years ago as a lowly store hand I could see some of their problems. It boggles my mind they don't know how to sort out some of the issues

The Last Story is quite fitting title too btw, I imagine not a lot of people have preordered TLS, it's not gonna sell great, and if GAME can't even afford to pay Nintendo for what stock they need, then wow, they must be on their deathbeds. So glad I went with amazon for TLS.

Also when I picked up my Vita yesterday they were practically begging to lay down preorders, buy insurance, cases, more games, mem cards. It felt like when you walk past a beggar in the street and they ask for money, you politely say you have no change but they follow you down the street still asking. The cashier even wrote his PSN name on the back of a piece of paper and gave it to me! Lol

My Game Experience Yesterday:

Went to store, asked for 2 Vita Bundles - one 3G and one Wifi. They came with Uncharted and 8GB sticks.

Terrible story. They truly are shockingly poor. I know they employ people, no-one likes to see people on the dole and what-not, but the way some of the stores are run is beyond disgusting.

here's my Game story.

When the DSI came out, I went to my local Game (Which was in a Borders at the time), and asked for a DSI. The chap said they were "out of stock", of DSI's on their own, but they had a "Bundle deal" available which consisted of a DSI, a case and other worthless crap, and (most importantly) some extended warranty nonsense.

I re-itterated I only wanted the DSI. Got told the only ones available were with a bundle deal.

Asked him if he knew forcing extended warranties with the purchase of a product is illegal, and I should be able to buy the console alone if I want. Manager got arsey, and asked me to leave.

Went to HMV, walked out with a DSI and a smile. Complained to Game head office, got a £25 credit (as bribery to keep me quiet I presume).

I might actually pop down and get £5 PSN credit with my final reward card points, haha.
I went to Game today and just used my remaining points on eShop credit. When this thread was first made I thought it was just a small thing and would soon blow over, but after reading all the games they aren't stocking and that they are even cancelling pre-orders a day before the game comes out there's definitely something up.
It's kinda sad to be honest because personally I've never had a bad experience in a Game store.

Its mad to see such a giant as GAME going this way but if it could happen to Woolies.. it can happen to anyone....

Well at the VERY LEAST they should fulfill the preorders, they must literally have no money left.

Well no, because lets say for every 1000 orders placed with Nintendo they get a 5% discount and then take into account distribution costs it wouldn't make enough to pay the cost off to be into profit.

To be fair if they only had 1000 orders for the game it makes little or no sense to stock it.
If they don't stock games they have less than 1000 pre-orders for then they won't be stocking many games going forward.

Just rename themselves CEX and be done with it.

I really hope they get me my ME3 CE for Xbox 360! I have had it on order since the day it went up. After that I am done with them, I have used my reward points and I will never be using them again, terrible company.

Well then they are just shooting themselves in the foot. Will those 1000 customers ever use GAME again? I wouldn't, it's a really shitty thing they have done with these TLS orders.

I only have like £2.42 of reward points left, not enough to do anything useful with. Guess they'll be keeping it when they collapse.

and the manager in the store could have stopped it all if he just said "give me your details, I'll take the cash, you take the goods, I'll process the transaction later and I can post your receipt out or call you and you can come and collect it."

That would have been the sensible thing to do in my eyes. All the tills have keys, so he could have put the cash in the till draw for safe keeping and in a envelope with your name on it or something.

Really not that hard to use your brain and send the customer away happy.

might as well repost this here..

Warning for you guys.

If you are thinking about getting some PSN Vita titles from GAME, don't get Motorstorm RC. The codes have problems and will not work.

thats the last time I'll look at them (I said this before... oh well)

So when are they expected to sink? I need to spend whatever points I have left. Which is nothing, because the only think I ever bought from them is my Dad's birthday present - CE of SWTOR.

And it was £650! A lot of much-needed profit I am sure for the company. Quite staggering.

I noticed they were selling Motorstorm RC download codes for £6.49 a few days ago, and now have cards with the correct price (£4.79). Maybe that could have something to do with it?

When I called them up they said PlayStation sent them bad codes for Mototrstorm.

I'm trying to find out more from here @ SCEE to see if thats true but I smell bullshit.

I'd say spend them ASAP.. over the past few weeks its got gradually worse.. if they are pulling orders the day before release.. and giving back people their £5 preorder money..

I can't see them lasting long at all

Their website is actually pretty decent now as you can spend reward points without them being in the £2.50 or £5 denomination (unlike the shop). So you can acually spend your £2.42 on something on the website (unlike the shop, smh) just to clear out your account.

I'll be spending my ~£2 reward points on one of those £5 PSN cards on their website.

Not really they did the opposite for Xenoblade and what happened bit them in the bum. Same with Inazuma Eleven and other titles. Between Game and banned site I know where I would order from based on customer service issues.

My local gamestation has boxes everywhere saying pre-order the mass effect 3 collectors edition. I thought they stopped taking pre-orders for that when this whole shit storm happened :S

Remember Game do have funding till 2013.

How many of those 1000 do you think will pre-order from Game again? Pissing off customers is a bad idea at the best of times, but doing it when you are struggling for cash is crazy.

My Game Experience Yesterday:

In a odd way you are lucky, if the manager was competent, he would have taken your cash too (I've worked in retail, & during power cuts/till failures we would hand write receipts & process them later).

My worst customer support situation was it GAME (1000x worse than Zavvi) but still I can't see how this is going to be good for us. Last Christmas, it was GAME and Gamestation that dropped the prices on a bunch of popular games and forced others to price match.
