Barca are a fan owned club or something like that aren't they? If i'm not mistaken, then that idea may have some merit, but i don't see how they would enforce the 25% to supporters groups pledge; it would never get through the courts.
Also, this could have negative effects - imagine if Newcastle exercised that right.
Explain? :lol
Though there is a supporters group trying to buy Newcastle, no one really takes them seriously. The romantic idea that the fans can own their local team again ala Barca is never going to happen. The reason Real and Barca can be fan owned, then hold an election every 4 years for a new president, is that they are an attractive successful team.
They attract new investment and new owners with money, even then its pretty much a rotation of a handful of people. Man U have supporters on their board, it didn't stop Glazers from taking over the club. A fan rep in the board room (even with 25% stake in the club) would do nothing.
Think this is a cheap election ploy to appeal to those who might not usually vote.

EDIT:
Interesting about the spoil your vote post above, there was a podcast saying that they were going to spoil their vote as they had no confidence in any of the partys. They said while it was stupid to do, they wouldn't have to do that, if there was a 'Non of the Above' option, at least something to show that some people aren't happy with the set up of Government across the board.

Clearly we need to start deporting babies. I also wonder what Jeremy Clarkson would think if he were to stumble across this thread and see that avatar with 'Nazi' underneath it :lol
Its worrying to think that the BNP are probably going to have their most successful campaign ever. Its not because they've put up a good argument, its because people are totally disenfranchised with the whole government.
I'm probably just lumping people into a group (BNP style), but I can't imagine, if they went out to vote, the Jeremy Kyle generation not voting for the BNP.
