Somebody please tell me that hitting someone with Dudley's rose can kill them. I was unable to and am lividly disappointingly depressed.

Those aren't buffs or changes, that's practically a new character. He gets a new move and major changes to a lot of his current set of moves. It's about as big as the difference between Ryu and Evil Ryu.

I do like the idea of getting new target combos or command normals like Sim. i think more characters should have those things. Gives them more ways to blow up focus or consistency when they need it for something such as anti-airing.

GG's Fragment! That's gotta be the best Elena I've ever played. Once you learned how to beat bad spray I had to quit spamming it and actually think more on defense lol. I THINK her sweep can punish it but slide should get it if you are far away and don't have ultra. It's pretty scary when an Elena is on point with the EX Mallet Smash links and you're in cr mk range.

How come you don't do the cr lp > cr mp link or go for HP mallet smash > cr MP? It does a lot more damage/stun and isn't really that hard.

No SRK finisher? :(

The cr HP at the end was a failed DP :(
 
Is there anything more humiliating in usf IV than being pooped out by Hakan?

Unrelated, but I hope someone makes a mod that uses SFxT's assets for these "new" stages. Cosmic Elevator looks frikkin' terrible in USFIV.

I didn't capture any of it but here goes:

There's more Concept stuff out there that people didn't post; Blanka, Sagat, and Honda all have some concept stuff out there. This is what I found:

Sagat:

DPs are really different: I didn't check for invincibility or anything but the light one went the furthest horizontally (he does a slide before doing the uppercut, it seems like it could've been a weird footsie tool). The Medium one slides a little, while the fierce one mostly resembles his light DP. The weird thing about his DP is that on all of them, after he does the general uppercut motion he actually goes BACKWARDS a little bit before landing.

His Tiger Knee was also very different. Instead of what we have today (higher strength = he goes higher and further), it was a VERY low tiger knee where he actually slid a bit on the ground before doing the knee. In the concept, he goes further with the strength of the button pressed, but they all resemble light tiger knee. His EX had him flying about 3 inches off the ground towards you.

He also has a target combo: CL.MK -> CL.HK. 4 hits, Knockdown (can't followup), and it did about 255 damage lol.


Blanka: I'm not much a Blanka player but I didn't see much. His EX Upball and EX horizontal ball were different.

EX Upball actually went STRAIGHT UP and did 4 hits. The final hit spiked you about midscreen, and is a techable knockdown. It's perfect for setting up an EX Rainbow Ball if they don't tech.

EX Horizontal Ball on hit actually goes through you. It hits you about 3 times for 135 damage. If you were in the corner you seemingly only get one hit for 40 damage. If you land it full screen, or it lands the third hit, it does a soft knockdown

His slide doesn't have nearly the active frames on it that it does now.


Honda:
His foot normals (s.lk, s.mk, s.rh) are all REALLY fast.

His Command Normal (DF.RH) is two hits for 110 and is an overhead. It can't be kara cancelled
Not sure if this is new but he has a CL.RH that does two hits.

His Headbutt seems a lot quicker. He doesn't have the visual cue where his feet leave the ground.

EX Headbutt is actually two hits for 180 damage, the first hit though you have to be really close.

His hands only required four button inputs instead of five. Also, his EX Hands had a final SLAP at the end (it's actually his st.mp) that came out on hit OR ON WHIFF that knocked the opponent back full screen (LOL). In the corner, you can follow up with EX Headbutt, EX Buttslam, or Ultra 1.

Also, Jab doesn't go into heavy Hands., and hands has so much recovery that you can't put a s.rh on it even though it's quicker.

He also has a target combo: CL. MP > CL.FP 4 hits, 180 damage, causes soft knockdown and is still in range for s.rh, cl.lp, or the second hit of st.fp. The animation looks like CL.MP which is two hits and CL.FP which is two-hits in this instance, but not by itself.

EX Oicho is actually an attack throw like Ibuki's Raida. the first hit does 55 damage on hit, and is a 3 hit combo for 165. On block it does 0 damage.


Regarding the weird Ken Parry thing in the video:

All of the characters (Chun, Ryu, Ken, Honda, Blanka, Sagat) have this. It's a weird pose that has armor on it (like focus attack dash cancel) but it's also super cancellable.

5 years later and Capcom can still manage to fuck up a netcode

. Tempted to double dip on the game to switch from PC to PS3 but I don't want to give capcom more money this time. Right now I'm just limiting ranked to same region and selecting anyone that comes up. Latency indicator goes all over the place but the matches are playable.

Also 5 years later and I still can't decide on a damn character to main. Back to Ryu I guess and hope the rust goes away fast :(.

I would have thought PS3 over 360 (which is true, according to the poll, at least) for if no other reason than no fees required to play online.

Same. In fact after my gold sub lapsed I bought PS3 copies of all the major fighting games to be able to hop online whenever friends felt like it.

Thought PS3 and 360 would be close, with the 360 having a higher percentage of specialists due to the PS3 being the anime system and the only 360 games that have clear netcode advantages being Capcom games and VF.

PC will end up being the dominant platform over time though unless they make a PS4/XB1 SFIV.

If they do make XO/PS4 version, it will be interesting to see where people go. Not many fightsicks out there, and more on XO due to KI for now. Streaming would be nice as would be system-based youtube uploads on PS4.

Hopefully PC keeps the user base alive, and they can fix the latency issues.
 
I'm guessing they didn't fix the slowdowns on the PS3 version huh. In any case Capcom is not getting more money from me. They got lucky I got swept by the hype ... again.

I play on PS3 and got no idea what this slowdown people talk of is. My online is fine to, though I'm un UK and mainly play people from UK and nearby EU countries. I'd assume the people talking of bad online are in US playing with people who created US PSN accounts because their own (non US) countries PSN shop sucks.

Things seemed better, latency wise, online for me on PC last night. Also, I can get in ranked matches pretty regularly.

On a side note, I forgot how much I love this
fucking
game.
 
How can they accidentally alter frame data? Anyway I'm glad they're reversing the nerf as I was ready to drop her

Easy to mess things up between builds. Happens all the time, especially since frame data isn't easily noticed at a glance

I unlocked the Japanese/English toggle, but I swear, weren't you able to toggle each character individually?

I can't stand half the English VA and half the Japanese VA. It's driving me nuts

Defeat Seth again, it wasnt completing arcade mode the way to unlock individual toggle voices?

My Bible just came in today. Pretty impressive imo. Pretty accurate as well, but of course that can change in future patches.

I love having stuff in print and simple bnb combos for the whole cast so I don't have to search all over YouTube and SRK.
