Uncharted 3 |OT| All Developers Dream, But Not Equally

Yepp - also I remember the outside airport area looking like shit. I have no idea why they changed it.

Edit - Maybe 3D is the reason they had to downgrad the graphics. ( fuck 3D - seriously )

Considering those are just the prerendered cutscenes and simply video files, I don't see why it has anything to do with 3D.

I have noticed a few users using it, and they didn't seem to be moving as fast.

ONE thing I have to say after playing a few matches from this patch...the aiming in the MP feels a bit slower now. I don't know what it is, but it feels a little bit off. Not as smooth as it was before. Like the cursor moves so slowly when you're aiming at someone. Kind of like what the beta review videos from TripleWRECK were talking about with the sniper rifle. I even increased the sensitivity to full, but it doesn't feel the same.

I played Team Objective matches and the amount of blindfiring I saw was so minimal I almost wanted to jump out of joy!
When you say blindfire do you mean blindfire from cover or do you mean running and gunning hipfire?

Running and gunning.

Something still feels off from the MP. i like the stopping power, the nerf of FF..but it's the aiming and movement. It feels so weird for some reason. If there's a word to describe it right now, it feels 'sluggish'.

Finished it tonight.
........uummmmmmm
the ending seemed.. really short. It's like you finally get to Iram and it just ends :/ Marlowe just kinda dies, and doesn't really elaborate on Drake's real name, or his past. Which seemed like it was going to be a little important when she brought it up in Yemen. Overall Marlowe wasn't very fleshed out. Especially not for the main villain.
Apparently Talbot is a sorcerer or magician or something and can disappear and reappear at will, dodge bullets, etc? I'm ok with the mystery surrounding him, but none of the other characters ever seemed to acknowledge that there was something up with him. Once, Cutter said something about it, but that was it.
Overall I'm a little disappointed with the ending. Could have used an extra 2 chapters (or just cutscenes I suppose). Graphic-wise, this game can't be matched. It's unbelievable. The patch made the shooting much better (could still use some work in my opinion) and the motion blur was a nice re-addition. And god damn, the normal difficulty was pretty hard. Popping out of cover for a few seconds meant instant death sometimes. Attempting Crushing tomorrow, but we will see how long I last.

I rate it 16/24 lightsabers.

wow. I liked how those screens... all looked better as E3 build.

if elena looked like she did in E3 build, I might have liked it. The new this years model is less good looking than final build. even nate looks better before

elena goes from hot to asian in that screen

it's the same face dude.

up to chapter 12.
abducted
on crushing. I feel like I'm seeing this game anew

its weird but I'm wholely enjoying the SP campaign more. The jokes are hitting home - the
chateau bit with the fire
was more exciting. the
talbot chase and drugged sequence
were both enjoyable. Taking out the frustration of the shooting out has made the game much better.

I want to talk about 2 instances where I really struggled in the SP game before. Now: its wholely engaging and I completed them both with such ease that thinking back about how they pissed me off... just wow.

syria sniper battle
The first time I played this with the poor controls; I was constantly missing, getting killed but now, I was perfectly able to snipe. I mean, that completely ... is the point of a shooter. To be able to shoot things and hit them.

syria final exit with cutter injured
the whole thing was really difficult befoe - had to deal with the shield guys who I can't hit... but this time, with the GMAL; went past in 2 tries.

and I also went through areas with a MAG and shot across the space and I could hit thing. Such a difference,

btw : the
yemen bottom of the well fight
that people seemed to have problems with? Pretty easy even on crushing.

This revised aiming is totally how the game should have launched. Whoever was in charge of QA/shooting system should be replaced. What a fiasco.

Motion Blur is 100% in multiplayer.

No idea why the patch notes say SP only.

Are those the real patch notes? What the fuck? The don't mention fleet foot as well.

Quite a few undocumented updates in the patch, it really is the big one.
Here's another: Uncharted TV now stays off instead of defaulting to yes regardless of setting when starting up MP.

Are my TV's settings a bit off, or are there certain parts of the early underground levels (chapters 3, 4ish) where the screen goes almost completely black?

I finally started the SP last night after the patch as I have been waiting for it. So far I have progressed to chapter 5 and definitely this game did not have the same impact that UC2 had. The pacing is slower than UC2 and the graphics are at UC2 level so far (which is still amazing), nothing mind blowing. But I enjoyed the back story and I am hoping shit will get crazy as I move further. I am guessing games picks up in later chapters with crazy over the top set pieces that I enjoyed so much in UC2?

Aiming feels same as UC2 to me, so I guess patch did work. Thanks to GAF and ND

Well, I loved U 1 and 2, played both at release date, but only now, after the patch I've started 3. I just finished with the chateau and I'm not feeling the game...

Hope it gets better... :-(

uh oh...not the response I wanted to see

the game is great but it doesn't pick up until chapter 11 or so. after chapter 10 the action is almost nonstop and it doesn't let go for a second. just keep pushing through though don't expect the game to substantially surpass UC2. it does surpass it in the end but only marginally.

Played again on Hard - found it so much easier now I'm warmed up.

I have to say that my favourite gaming chapters is from the deserted village in the desert all the way to the final chapter. The shooting is genius and I really wish there was more.

Just started playing, this game is beautifull, holy crap. a significant notch up from UC2.

The shooting is more fun, the guns have more recoil. The climbing has also improved. The dialogue scenes and banter is really good. So far so good.

Holy crap does this game give off a Oceans Eleven vibe.

I am most pleased with this, and I love how the tutorials are done in this game.

sounds good...as long as it is as good as UC2, I am fine. And of course I'll play this game to the end no matter what. Besides the story and the characters have already hooked me in. I love this series. Best new IP this gen for me.

(no game spoilers)
didn't get better for me. unfortunately, the weakest of them all

They really nailed Drake 3.0. He was good in 1 but the shaders were not quite there yet (although I liked it artistically). In 2 he was down right weird looking and now in 3 he looks like 1 but with better skin shaders. Hopefully they keep this model in future games.

So I just got the game (yeah I know late) but after I put it in and downloaded the patch all I am getting is the spinning ring in the corner for like 5 mins now. Is it installing or just flat out not working?

I'm surprised you didn't care for that part but give it until Chapter 12. The pace picks up a lot there.

It's just the install the first time you start up the game.

Didn't it always have Motion Blur in MP? I think I remember reading that somewhere on here. Hence, why they say they've added it back in for SP.

Bugs, I fucking hate bugs
, ah well it can't get worse for Nathan can it?
Holy shit the place is burning down, the place is falling apart and, and, and....
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU--

Got to chapter 12 tonight. Game is amazing. A lot more puzzles than I expected but I have enjoyed all of them. The quality of the graphics, art direction, writing, acting and presentation is unlike anything I've ever experienced in a videogame. These guys just raise the bar with each release. I expect there to be more action in the later levels. I'm sure the Naughty Gods will not disappoint

lol chapter 12 is where I felt like I was playing UC2 for the first time again.

It seems the checkpoint in the airport is fixed. If you want to stealth it, it doesn't start you in the middle of a fight.

Does anyone have video comparing the before and after-patch results of motion blur?

My friend is borrowing my copy of the game, otherwise I'd totally see it for myself.
