Wants to outlaw technological innovation.
everyone wants to see as much of roberts rebellion as possible, but I feel that its kind of an all or nothing situation. and since many suspect there are somewhere plans in a drawer for a roberts rebellion mini series after GOT is finished, or even a movie, they might save it and not show anything on GOT. maggie the frog is just one little scene, similiar to a vision.
I agree with this. I couldn't imagine a mini series, unless they do like an anthropology series around it, a season based around Robert's Rebellion, one based around the Blackfyres, one around Aegon's Conquest, hell who knows, we should find out more next month.

So re-reading the fourth book has got me thinking, do you think they are going to show Qyburn's "experiments" in the show. They had no qualms about showing in great detail Ramsay's love of torture but I feel like Qyburn's shit would be too much to stomach if they actually show it.

I could see them doing conversations between him and Cersei in his lab as he's just sort of doing horrible things to the Mountain casually in the background like it's no big deal. Not sure if they'll get to any of his experiments on non-Mountain people.

No Stoneheart, no Manderly...

I will not believe that they actually cut Manderly until I've actually watched the season, and double-checked each frame to make sure he's not lurking in a background somewhere. That casting announcement is going to pop any day now. Aegon, Arianne, Victarion, Stoneheart, whatever, but you do not take Manderly from me. :(

@GoT_Tyrion? I doubt that's an official profile, probably just fanart by unsullied.
Not that the show doesn't have misleading campaigns, though. "The North remembers" last season was cheap.

But lots of Sand Snakes!
No revenge there either, as far as we know.

Huh?

The Sandsnakes are basically oozing rage because of how vengeful they are in Feast.

AFFC/ADWD are all about revenge. Revenge for Oberyn, revenge for the Starks, revenge for Rhaegar's children, revenge for Tyrion...
Revenge is a constant theme in the books, but if next season's adaption goes as far as AFFC/ADWD do and LSH was cut, there's no actual revenge to watch on screen at all.

Vengeance doesn't have to be "delivered" for the phrase "Vengeance is coming" to be invalidated.

Plenty of people are going to be all about vengeance this season.

Plenty of people were all about vengeance last season and the season before that.

But not nearly as much as this season.

The repercussions of Oberyns Death and Dornes thirst for vengeance is going to be a huuuuuuuuuuuge storyline this season.

This. Dorne is definitely going to play a big part this season,
with Jaime and Bronn going there etc.

So have I missed anything or are they still being awful and insisting Stoneheart won't happen. Seriously I still have a little of a hard time believing they didn't have it as the Season 4 cliffhanger.

The entire story is based on Vengeance...

None of this story exists if Bran is never shoved from the window.

It is hardly limited to the last 2 books.

Really at this point I'd rather they just leave it out. It's been too long since her death, and they didn't make any effort to set it up last season. That's not something you can just drop on people two years later with no foreshadowing and have it not feel cheap.

The way everyone reacted to the question about Stoneheart at Comic-Con makes me think she's still in.

Also due to the lack of casting info, it can be deduced that Euron=Daario which will obviously be the climactic moment this season now that Manderly and Aegon are gone.

(Probably not an actual spoiler)

Bjornsson was on a one-day trip to Belfast a few weeks ago. We're not certain yet, but it may well have been for his costume fitting.

Thor Mountain seems perfect for Strong anyway now that he won't have to speak. Should look pretty great in Kingsguard armour as well.

Ned Stark's death fueled more revenge in terms of plot than Dorne, I mean the audience has only just been introduced to Dorne, even in the books. Whereas we the audience and the whole North have been screaming for revenge since Ned Stark lost his head, Theon decided to burn down Winterfell, and Robb Stark got Wolfed Head.

from preview chapter:
"Mercy" is stalking that piece of shit Meryn Trant, who takes the place of Tolliver as the one she kills in Braavos for revenge.

This reminds me: I really hope they play up the whole Stannis-getting-justice-and-revenge-for-Ned side of things. That could go down really well on TV in particular, and be an incredibly driving plot arc.

lol she actually kills Rufford in Mercy. But Tolliver replaced Rufford in the show and now Trant is replacing the role Rufford would have had if he hadn't already been replaced by Polliver.

Or something like that.

I don't really have a strong enough conception of Tyene as a character to really from an opinion on her casting. I'll have to see her in character doing the accent and all that to know for sure.

Pretty much, all the Sand Snakes are a blur except the one in Oldtown with the backwards name. The two Dornish heirs I actually had a feel for and they get cut, lol
