We didn't put it in the post, but a casting call also went out for
Wildling archer extras for a 3 week shooting block including those dates, too. It's apparently very athletic work, so most likely a battle does take place.
Hmmm
Perhaps that supports the early talk of a battle in the snow that had grown to be larger than they originally scripted it.

I would definitely say that whatever that battle is, this casting is for it. I just have no idea what battle this is. That level of Wildling involvement doesn't really match anything known from the book. Given that they originally planned to film in Iceland and only moved back to Ireland when it grew too large, I'm definitely starting to lean toward the idea that there is some kind of action North of the Wall.

I'm not worried about Victarion not being in.. It's known that he is getting his own movie, like he rightfully deserves.
Honestly the greatest thing ever would be a sitcom with him and Tyrion living together. Varys and Littlefinger could be the couple living next door. It would certainly make everyone forget about TWOW.

On the very slim chance that Vic is in, they'll dress him in a damp jacket like every other Greyjoy they've done. If you're lucky they'll replace the leather armor under the jacket that the other Greyjoys wear with a steel chest plate.

Sounds about right. D&D probably think some armour (and clothing) are silly or not realistic enough.
Kingsguard, bronze armour, the Mountain, Oberyn, Ramsay, Renly, etc. Almost every unique piece was cut, there's no reason to expect a kraken helmet.
Looks awesome in the M&B mod, though.

I've seen a real life Japanese kraken helmet and it looked badass if not very practical, i think it was from the 18th century.

So. . .what the hell are D&D going to do with Balon and Yara?

They have to be planning something, or else they would've just killed Yara off last season. I just have no idea what it is. I think the easiest thing to do is just have a brief Yara plot this season leading up to her capture by Stannis, during which she learns about her dad's death (offscreen) and Euron showing up out of nowhere to usurp her throne. That's enough to get the plot where it needs to be, and establish animosity between Yara and Euron to drive the plot forward, with pretty minimal screen time involved, and Euron's casting pushed to next season. You could maybe throw in a Jaqen/Arya scene where Jaqen mentions a recent contract to kill a client's brother while making it look like he fell off a bridge, so people can piece together what happened.

Vic can be removed. Euron is already on the show.

All they have to do is show him sitting on the throne, stroking his golden titted knives while Dani walks up to him slowly in Mereen and saying "I have 93 ships at my command to take you back to my home, the Iron Isles..." and you just skipped a ton of story.

I was legitimately on board with that theory for a while. I really wish it was true.

Y'all are crazy. I still plan to dramatically throw my copy of Winds out the window if at any point it reveals that Euron = Daario.

Wants to outlaw technological innovation.
I think if it worked in the show, it could turn out well, however there is no way in makes sense in the books.

Pics of Howland Reed on set.

Also here are some kings landing scene breakdowns from someone that is friends with some of the extras, allegedly.

Here is the an interesting one:
The next scene, which took the rest of the day to shoot, was at the intersection in the city, where Littlefinger is walking with two bodyguards when he is confronted (ambushed) by the Faith Militant. Their leader is none other than Lancel Lannister, with his hair cut short. In the conversation they have, Littlefinger greets him as “Lancel Lannister” but he replies that it’s brother Lancel now; they abandon our surnames when we join the order. Brother Lancel than proceeds to tell Littlefinger how “his father weighs the sins of others on a scale, but that his mother forgives those that repent. After a short conversation, he lets Littlefinger pass.

This has huge implications, if true. If Lancel is going to be in S4 without announcement, this means we might see Griff, Aegon, or a Greyjoy brother.

I would imagine the Griffs would be huge announcements (by tv series standards) as they are supposed to be very important for the grand scheme of things. Otherwise George is trolling us. Which could be totally it.

And I still hope Ray Stevenson will emerge somewhere playing Victarion :(

- Out with the Ironboring plot, yes. And there was much rejoycing
What! Noooooooooo? Asha is awesome, and the whole Ironborn election were tense.

Personally i can´t for Littlefinger to tell Sansa that he will give her the iron throne. Damn that man´s planing lol.

They never formally announce returning actors though. That always just gets pieced together by by WiC/Watchers from actors resumes and set sightings.
