There's a chance it will probably get a new lease of life on PSN - it's certainly coming to other platforms. I wrote an article about the closure of PS Mobile, and asked the dev of Oh Deer! if it would be released elsewhere. They told me the plan was to bring it to 'everything that has a controller':

http://quitorcontinue.com/end-of-the-road-for-playstation-mobile/

Nice nice.

Off topic: Btw does anyone know if they have some sort of procedure when posting on ps blog? seen Fred mention it a few times that we can hit him up on Twitter for news he might have missed. Since I would love to see Amnesia actually get some "official" coverage.

Teslagrad looks very interesting but after seeing what's happening with announced indie games on Vita getting canned, I'm not buying it until it actually releases on Vita..

Most indie devs are really transparent about development and I wouldn't expect many (or any) major cancellations moving forward.

Axiom Verge and Bastion are waiting on Sony to release tools for MonoGame and Teslagrad is actually being completely remade on a new engine for Vita.

I wouldn't worry.

Yeah, SOEDESCO still have plans to give the Vita version of Teslagrad a retail release in Europe once it's done. Considering it's now about six months late, there just seem to be a lot of problems actually getting it to run on the system I guess.

Maybe they're done porting that Mono<something> engine.

Monogame, and yeah looks like it. I guess this also paves the way for already announced vita ports bastion and towerfall to come as well, as they too run on that engine.

It could also potentially open the door for ports of: Apotheon, Mercenary Kings, Transistor, Skulls of the Shogun as they too run on Monogame apparently.

Obviously that's just wishful thinking/speculation and I don't assume it will happen.

Mercenary Kings already have a Vita port announced, so that's one.

I could have sworn Mercenary Kings was confirmed for a Vita port. Transistor sure would be nice to have on the Vita as well.

I've held off on picking up Axiom Verge as it looked like one of those games I'd get the most enjoyment playing through on the Vita, so I'm glad to hear that some progress is being made.

Oh, and I'm also glad to hear about the Odin Sphere port. Never played the original, I'm looking forward to playing it on the Vita.

UK developer Fiddlesticks has announced Hue for Vita, due out early next year.

Hue (which recently has won the indie showcase and the people’s choice awards at Develop: Brighton) is a stark puzzle platformer where you shift the hue of the world, creating rifts when colours collide.

Also Bigben Interactive has confirmed (again?) that WRC 5 is coming to Vita in October alongside the consoles. Now with box art! It'll be developed by Kylotton Games instead of Milestone this time.

Sweet. I'll grab the Japanese release unless it gets an Asian English physical release. I'll be interested to see how well/bad the game runs on the Vita. Hopefully it'll be at least serviceable. Raid mode on the go would rock.

That on the other hand sucks. I wanted a physical Vita release as the file size of that game + updates is huge.

Sweet, they made their summer promise.
This, I was worried Sony/Capcom was just going to abandon it quietly. Now a release date for Axiom Verge would be nice...

Hopefully it looks as it should, without too many downgrades, it seems handleable on Vita at 30fps. Capcom pulled off wonders for Revelations 1 on 3DS, but that wasn't a port, it was the main course. Ah well, its not too far off, could probably snag it and finish it during my break and before MGSV drops.

I've been waiting on both Axiom Verge and Revelations 2 to come out on Vita for months, since as Shadowman16 said, it seems like they'd be more enjoyable on Vita for me. It's funny that I appreciate portability far more than I did just a few years ago, since some of the only reliable times for me to game is during transit. I used to play 3DS at my house all the time, not I almost never play it, and instead play almost exclusively Vita out in the world.

That's one reason despite having gotten a Vita grip that O don't use it. It's too much hassle taking a Vita, a Vita case, and a grip. Since the case only fits the Vita itself I had to put the grip on, and take it off too frequently. And it had starting scratching the the triggers I think, oh well. It's that short handle one by PDP, it was pretty comfortable and added some much needed heft to the triggers and body, but it was too much trouble to bring around so whatever, I just got used to holding the Vita a certain way.

Elliot Quest which initially launched on PC, Ouya and then Wii U is coming to Vita next year (also PS4, 3DS, everything etc.). It's a platform adventure heavily inspired by Zelda II. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/3DS/Elliot+Quest/news.asp?c=66674

Also two more Touhou doujin games were announced for Vita in Japan.
http://nichegamer.com/2015/07/a-bunch-of-new-doujin-touhou-games-are-revealed-for-ps4-and-ps-vita/

Double Focus

Double Focus is a Metroidvania-style game developed by AQUA STYLE, makers of The Tower of Desire. You play as Aya Shameimaru and Momiji Inubashiri as they try to find their way back to Gensokyo after getting sucked into a demon book.

In the game you’ll be able to freely switch between both characters and the PS Vita version will add voice acting for both Aya and Momiji amongst other features and adjustments.

Touhou Sky Arena – Matsuri- Climax

Developed by Ryoiki ZERO, Sky Arena is an action game for up to 4 players that features the unique “Tension System” where your character’s stats and abilities change along with music. Featuring music by various artists active in the Touhou Project scene, there will be more songs added for the Playstation versions.

I wish there was a way to filter out the niche Japanese games from OP.

Anyway, great list. :)

Thanks for the kind words Circinus :) I am always happy to update the style of the list if something works. So far I felt that separating the Japanese-only games, released games, recently released games, new releases and upcoming games worked well. I'm always happy to take feedback :D

Read 999 before you touch VLR or ZE3 with a ten foot pole.

I second this

Crypt of the Necrodancer coming to Vita!

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/07/10/crypt-of-the-necrodancer-is-coming-to-ps4-and-ps-vita/

An awesome mash-up of roguelike dungeon crawling and rhythm, the blog post doesn't explain it well but spare a minute to watch this gameplay video (now a little outdated) and you'll understand it well enough. Essentially you are cursed to move to a pulsing beat, move through a dungeon and kill monsters, but the monster move to it to. It's pretty tough but insanely addictive.

Thanks redcrayon :) Adding it up ^^

The little thing keeps building quite a legacy indeed :)

The amount of announcements/updates since my last big update in july 9 is insane. The Vita keeps on getting some awesome stuff.

I just meant that it's a PSP game, and I thought the list was specifically for Vita games. It's not like I'm complaining about it; I was just a little confused, hah.

Anyway, Y2K and Heart Forth, Alicia both look really great, huh. And I'm pretty excited to play Hatoful; I really enjoyed the fan-translated demo way back when but never got the full version and have been waiting for this ever since it was announced.

I don't blame you BTA, and thanks for the note regardless! Reason why I put newly announced/released PSP games is to since they are playable on the Vita I almost treat them as Vita releases in this day and age.

Yes indeed, both look great...so many unique looking titles hitting the system. Hatoful just came out - how are you guys finding it? Looks damn adorable.

Unless I'm mistaken Children of Morta's Kickstarter reached the PS4+Vita goal back in February and is missing from the list. In a tweet they said it'll be cross buy.

It looks great :)

Thanks for this dwr, wouldn't have caught it without you :) Will add it up.

Also saw this:

Black Witchcraft

This also looks a bit janky and slow, but I'm a fan of the artstyle

Thanks for sharing YianGaruga, adding black witchcraft up :)

Looks like The-Game-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named on GAF is gettting sequel

http://nichegamer.com/2015/07/criminal-girls-2-is-leaked-by-amazon-japan/

I wonder if I can include this on my next update! Thanks michaelius :)

Oh man, losing track of how many announcements were made for the system recently :D So awesome, thanks Finale Fireworker :)

Beautiful, thanks mate, adding it up :) People - don't miss this one.

They keep on coming! Awesome ;D Thanks infernal monkey, Hue looks great!

Hope this port is done well!! Wish we got a physical version but nice to see Sony delivering on that promise. Finally, the very first portable resident evil game on the Vita. (Even the PSP didn't get one!)

It's impossible to say if you'd like the OLED or the slim Vita better without trying them, both have pros and cons. But a Vita is a Vita and buying one is never a mistake :)

Yeah I saw some videos but it's pointless to do such comparisons so I figured just to go with the cheapest option here :D

And Danganronpa 2 is def. on my list next to Steins;Gate

Holy shit... And I'm just getting a lousy 16 GB together with mine o.o

I think it depends on how many games you have and whether you plan on getting physical or digital copies. I have a 16gb on my JP Vita, and haven't run out yet. The only digital game I have on it is Grand Knight History though, plus some demos.

I have alot of physical Vita games, but wven then, rhen when a sale happens for JRPGs they take up 2GB min. And with more Vita titles being digital, us Westerners fill that memory card up to the brink. With the Vita being a legacy console, hoped that Sony would let SanDisk and others make 3rd party Vita memort cards. Would definitely buy 128 or even a 256GB.

Skullgirls when.

Been digging this game on my PS3, ready to jump on a vita version when it drops.

I wish Street Fighter 4 was ported to this thing :(

Obvious low-res textures and greatly decreased lighting but still pretty cute.

By the way, the game is under 3GB in size. Good news for those that won't import for the physical and have to download digitally with a small memory card.

This begs the question why so much of geometry remains intact. They should had downgraded the geometry more in order to maintain native res and 30fps. Hope this doesn't turnnout like borderlands2.

Looks like BigBen Interactive haven't given up on Vita yet. Wonder if we'll get anything else out of them other than WRC and Ruby games.

Shame Milestone & Pqube seemed to yank all of their racing game support.

Which regions are getting the physical release? Only Japan? Does it have full english or just the voices as usual in Biohazards?

Just saw on play-asia the asian region. Voices in English and Japanese and sibtitles in Chinese. Does that mean we can play it full English??
