If you have a WiiU, you can buy $20 worth of NES VC games for 80 coins before the end of the CN year.

Only Wii VC games released after 2009 or 2010 (dont know exactly when) are eligible for coins. F Zero X is not one of those games, so that's a no.

I've gotten Platinum every year since they launched it...but I want that Luigi case to match my Mario case. But I wish they made a bigger one for 3DS XL since I have 2 of those and 1 3DS.

I never registered my Wii U. Also have Animal Crossing & Project X Zone to register :3

You can buy codes off of eBay for super cheap.

Spending coins does not affect your Platinum status.

When I first saw the deal I thought it was a safety net type of thing for those who are so close to gold/platinum. Guess I shouldn't have expected NoA to be so generous.

Still, a bonus 10 coins for the next year instead of this year seems kinda pointless to me, especially since 10 coins isn't a lot. If it was gonna be for the next year anyways the deal should go on up until next Thurs; seems odd to cut it off for the end of the CN year if the deal doesn't pertain to this year. But I digress.

Digital version has coins. The disc version doesn't include them.

3DS does for both eShop and retail versions.

I actually preferred Samurai G to Bird Mania, and it gives a whopping 10 coins registration! But yeah, probably better off to spend an extra buck and get something better like SpeedX Hyper Edition.

The latter is not really worth 3 dollars. The former is an endless runner kind of thing, but more interesting. I enjoyed it on iOS for what it is. I think $3 is a good deal for it since I'm not exactly sure, but that specific kind of endless game appeals to me.

Ever since August about 40% of the games they've offered are ones they've offered before, so at that rate I'd guess about two-thirds of the games they offer will ultimately get re-offered (but I doubt we'd see snowboarding before winter either way).

I've gotten a report that Rhythm Thief on the 3DS has a 20 coin post play survey still -- can anyone confirm that? Many 3DS titles did have 20 coin post plays, but Nintendo changed all that a while back -- it sounds like Rhythm Thief might have slipped their notice.

When it's on your to-do list on the CN home page, it says 20. When you go to take the survey, the standard intro text says it's worth 10 coins as usual, but you do receive the full 20 in the end.

Metroid: Other M is still giving 50 coins when registered.
