I'm sorry doaster but you just posted that same idea about donovan earlier in this thread for reasons you dislike him. Saying that they have to go to a stronger league and need to prove they can play all the time is OK and all, but at some point these guys probably get pissed. How much more did Dempsey have to prove before getting consistent time at Spurs? He was getting benched randomly and it probably wrecked his game. I feel like he has to be a every day player to show his skills, and he wasn't getting that, even after scoring 20+ at Fulham. It was always bullshit Imo. I feel like donovan has always been great enough to play in the epl as well, but having to prove to the euro media that you are good enough every single day is complete doo doo for players of Dempsey and donovans caliber.
First of all, I don't give a damn, at all, what the Euro Media thinks, and I could care less about US players abroad having to prove themselves to the Euro Media (especially the English media). I don't think our players need to prove themselves to the freaking UK or European media, I just want to see our best playing against the best in the arguably best competition in the world (Champion's League). That's all.
AS far consistent time @ Spurs...he joined the team in the 11th hour of the end of the transfer period, so he basically had no time to integrate with the team, he also had a period where he was out injured with a small injury, and despite all that, he played in 29 (started 23) of the Spurs in the EPL. That's about 75% of the EPL games Spurs played last year, that seems pretty consistent to me, all things considered.
Listen, I understand. At some point, you feel like the players deserve more respect and shouldn't have to prove themselves over and over in a foreign league. But this is the life they chose, and these are the ambitions they have.
Anyways, it's no use arguing this point over and over, since we'll just argue back and forth on the same things. Let's just agree to disagree on the point of Dempsey, and hope he stays sharp for 2014!

As expected, Johannsson will don the red, white and blue for the first time versus Bosnia. With John Anthony Brooks also a rumored call-up, sounds like we will get a look at both of our dual-nationals in that game
Wait this isn't clear, will Aron's application to FIFA even be finished in time for the game? I fully expect him to get a call up to the friendly, but that's probably more on getting him integrated into the USMNT setup, getting used to the USMNT players and all that. I don't think he'll even be on the bench, if his team switch application hasn't been approved by FIFA yet.
