First ebay, now USA Today. Here's their new logo:

There are a bunch of other changes coming to their print and digital newspapers, which you can read about here.

None of these company logo redesigns would look good as a neon light. Therefore, they fail. Blade Runner, we've failed you.

I'm indifferent to this change. The old one was "fine" and this one is "fine" but I'm not sure I understand why 40% of it is a blue circle. I guess that represents Earth?

I rarely have much of an opinion on these matters, including that Ebay logo change thread, but this one is fucking terrible. That new design couldn't be any more bland if you tried to make it so.

I still like the old logo.

I didn't see the GAF Halp me with my LOGO thread that USA Today posted.

Can someone link it?

Fuck these parent companies too for thinking we care who they are. If they were smart, they'd avoid reminding us that they exist, and that multiple news sources are actually owned by the same people.

Edit: Holy shit...

Gannett Company owns over 90 daily newspapers, nearly 1,000 weekly newspapers, 23 television stations, and more. These operations are in 41 U.S. states and six countries.[1]
This is an incomplete list. You can help by expanding it.

So if I hear something reported and want sources, I could get hundreds or thousands potentially all backing it up. And yet have it actually be only one source.

A circle? Seriously?

So logo design nowadays is, pick a sans-serif font, put a geometric shape next to company's name.

That will be 4 million dollars please.

It's not bad like that, but terrible when they stick shit like a guitar poking out of it. Surprised the other versions aren't in the OP because those are the real disasters.

So their logo is a blue circle?

This minimalist logo shit is getting a tad out fo hand.

They're preparing for global warming.
This is actually a legitimate issue I have with this logo. Given that the previous logo featured a globe, and this new logo is clearly supposed to represent a globe, it's kind of hard for me to not see it as a fully submerged Earth.

Kinda hilarious to think that a teenage escapade in a small town nobody's ever heard of would become front page national news.

Look at the upper right corner.

No, not about Queen Diana's visit, the part about which edition it is.

Also, Queen Diana is a good name for a band.

Seriously? Ugh. What is wrong with USA Today was not the logo or the design of the publication. The thing they have against them is that no one reads newspapers anymore.
