Valkyria Chronicles for PC [Nov 11, £14/20/$20, has all DLC, 60fps/1080p+, $14 GMG]

It's probably been mentioned but it looks like the sketch/pencil filter from the PS3 game is gone. Kind of disappointing, wonder if it was sacrificed to support variable resolution. Maybe that can be modded back in.

Preordered on GMG, looks like they don't have keys though.

GMG key won't be available at least a day or two before release.

I don't know if it's modded out or only available on the game's original resolution.

Oh god, looking through those Steam store screenies, I am definitely sticking to MnK for controlling this if the controls there are good. The 360 pad controls seem to have the same issue that many 360 games ported to PS3 had, but in reverse.

Aim button on the 360 pad's bumper button. That's almost as bad as those poor control conversions to the PS3 where shooting was mapped to the DS3's awful triggers. On the bright side, looks like it'll make pause-scumming harder to exploit. Or just make MnK the choice control scheme for challenge-runs in this version.

Nope I see it in the screens they've provided for the PC version.

You can remap controls

Apparently it's going to have remappable controls.

GAF, should I buy? I'm hear ya'll raving about this game, and I never played it.

I can get it on GMG for $8 with GMG credit.

Why should I buy this? WHY GAF?

Will buy in hopes of some Skies of Acardia port coming out to anything anytime soon.

It'll never happen. :(

Been meaning to pick this up on my PS3, but never got around to it.

Why should I buy this? WHY GAF?

The prospect of more SEGA PC ports. The prospect of Vanquish at ridiculous settings. The prospect of Miku on Steam. And because it's a genuinely good game on its own.

Just do it. The hype tank is waiting!

Look for some youtube videos on gameplay. :)

Its a very good game, with very good art direction and music. Still thats not its only saving grace, its fun to play if you enjoy strategy RPGs, but it also can be quite difficult and slow paced at times.

If you like an engaging story with pretty decent characters, attractive environments, strategic gameplay with item customization and have liked anime for a while now then get this game with the quickness! Especially since you can get it so cheaply. I'm like dead broke and seriously trying to figure how to get this game. BTW, I bought a Ps3 for it and it remains my last owned physical game for the system...
not anymore after this!

Huge kudos for getting 1080p 60fps on the port. This is how you avoid any negativity and generate goodwill and positive press and word of mouth. This is how PC porting should be done.

How does one get to $14 at GMG?

Ya know, I'll do it just for this. I'm happy to support Japan going all in on PC.

Hope they give Playstation controller icons to use! (Those xbox ones look pretty ugly/low res)

UI still looks like same resolution, but at least resampling decently to higher resolution. Bleeding book border looks like same resolution (Some artifacts) but still nice looking.

Pre-ordered. Hoping this turns out better than FFXIII

Ordered. Maybe this will help revive the series.

I'd love a remake of VC3 - those tiny sandbox areas get very annoying after a while.

Pre-ordered because Valkyria Chronicles is amazing and I want a larger Japanese presence on the PC.

So glad this is actually happening.

Capcom has been doing pretty damn good lately. We had an excellent port of RE4 this year and REmake release in early 2015.

I talk to their community manager on occasion and he always discusses the financials and pitfals to respective ports. They are always interested in doing goodwill projects such as these, but it generally comes down to funds and timing. Capcom prefers to use internal studios for new, more lucrative projects, and contract out to other studios for these older ports.

I don't think Dragon's Dogma would just be a good will project, it just makes solid business sense. Dragon's Dogma seems like game MADE for the PC audience. Generally, PC players eat that style of game up.

It's not about torturing yourself my friend, it's about ensuring this franchise's futur for years to come. For many years we cried, fought, and endured. It all seemed in vein (lolPSPJapanOnly), and we lost many good men and women in that time.
Yet, we never gave up hope, and continued to believe there was a chance for this to see the light again. Now, here we are, with the game returning in full 1080p @60fps glory. For $20 with all the original content and then some, the question isn't "should I buy it again?" It's how many times! Do what must be done, I will probably buy 3 copies and give 2 away, but you go out there and do your part any way you can!

I fixed the music link

Bought two copies from GMG, $14.04 a pop. Either giving or gifting the spare away, won't matter until I get the keys to begin with. Still, I'm not getting anything else this Halloween, and I'm expecting the Winter Sale to disappoint like this year's Summer Sale...better to vote with my wallet than build a grab-bag.
