Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 rated by the ESRB

Mad The Rock GIF

Brujah, your typical counter culture anarchical grunt mellee warrior
Banu Haqim, wtf... rogue/assassins?
Ventrue, probably your firearm / social choice.
Tremere, mage.

DLC - for sure Malkav and Nosferatu (at least it's what would be justified to sell as a different experience than the main game ones...)

No love for Toreador

Apparently, Assamites are a term used by outsiders while the clan itself calls themselves the Banu Haqim. Was that always the case or is that a newer addition to the lore? Can't remember ever hearing them referred as Banu Haqim back in the day, but I could have missed it somewhere. I do recall that Haqim is the name of their Antediluvian, however.

I was a bit confused aswell, but they did namedrop the Banu Haqim. Had to double check that my hearing wasn't malfunctioning. But then again I haven't interacted with any Masquerade properties in well over a decade.

Did a search - seems they changed the name from Assamites to Banu Haqim when they released the 5th edition in 2018.

I dont wanna get my hopes up for this ...

Like you dont know how much i love
Vampire:The Masquerade - Redemption and Bloodlines

On the day that Bloodlines released i was waiting i my car in the parking lot of a MediaMarkt since 6am..still remember it was raining like crazy and i was excited out of my mind!

Also i firmly believe its one of those games that were made at the exact right time. This game would never have been made in current times.
Btw i bought this back in 2002

Late 90s and early 00s were peak vampire time for sure. Remember my gf at the time introducing me to the world of Vampire the Masquerade by having me watch Kindred: The Embraced on DVD. Quite the mess of a tv-show for an uninitiated, she had to pause a lot to fill me in on a lot of the world and lore to make sense of the plot. 😅

As for the game, I think it's best to expect the worst and rather be positively suprised if it turns out good. Since they've chosen to let someone from the press play the game I'm guessing it won't be too long until they'll release more info.

Alright, that makes sense. I also haven't really read up on anything Vampire related in ages.

Half tempted to play a "Banu Haqim" and diablerize any Tremere I come into contact with, lol. Not even sure such a thing will be possible in this game, though. Should probably watch the Game Informer vid to see the latest info on the game.

Played through the first game in 2011 or something. It was already old an janky by then, but I felt like I had never played anything like it. In many ways it still feels like that, the world felt so unique and grimy, it also had some serious horror vibes. I highly doubt this game lives up to the first one. At this point I just want to see what they put out after all these years. Definitely no day 1 buying, it's a wait and see type of game.

"Set at around Xmas"
More like winter holidays, right? There's a ton of red flags with this entire project, I prefer to be positively surprised rather than get hyped about it.
