Venom Social Media Impressions

I watched this yesterday on Netflix, and really loved it. First off I felt it would suck, but once they get this Eddie/Venom dynamic going, it was really fun.

Tom Hardy was amazing in his role, Michelle Williams was quite okay as well.
Didn't like the indian dude as the evil CEO. He just didn't have the presence to portray that role, imo.

It's definitely up there with the better MCU efforts.

4.5/5
Really? I thought it was barely on a level with Dark World and Black Panther, let alone the good MCU films.

You're right about the Riz Ahmed though, he was much better in Four Lions.

Depends a lot on my mood when I am watching this stuff and also probably a lot on my expectations.
Which were quite frankly very low for this movie.

But like I said, I found a lot of the interactions between the Symbiont and Eddie quite hilarious, and in a way that was something which hasn't been done like this before in a superhero movie. Plus the antihero thing.

So I was almost perfectly entertained, and my suspense of disbelief was held intact most of the time.
Which i cannot say for Thor: Dark World and Black Panther, where I spent most of the movie arguing with my buddies how stupid most of the stuff is that is happening right now on the screen (plus being bored and/or confused a lot of the time)

So, I am standing by my 4.5/5. Your mileage can and will vary, off course..

I thought it was terrible too. If the Spider-Verse is confirmed to integrate into the MCU, I'll give it one more chance.

Some movies are better on second viewing but I have absolutely no interest in revisting this film ...... yet.

IMO it's worse than Incredible Hill and Thor: Dark World. Same level as Ghost Rider and Daredevil.

*EDIT*
I will agree that Tom Hardy is very funny in the first half though.

*EDIT 2*
It's final fight is worse than Black Panthers final fight.

I really enjoyed it too and expected to hate it after the trailer.

It's a dumb movie with a shit villain but seems self-aware about it and has fun with the idea.

Worked for me, plus Venom/Hardy was fantastic. Looking forward to the sequel.
