Actually, no. The narrative is that Microsoft (P.Spencer) is on-record multiple times saying he's against console war en taking jabs at competitors. Sony never claimed such things, ot at least not as prevalent as MS.

Why? They don't have to do anything, the only way to play Playstation Games is on Playstation. They have all the major titles for the year with marketing deals. They have outsold Xbox One 2:1. Sony can just keep everything as it is and play the waiting game. This holiday season is on lock for them because there will be supply constraints for Scorpio and PS4 Slim will go down as low as 199 and that's where they will sell a ton. A price reduction for Pro makes sense at the beginning of 2018.

I'm happy with my OG Xbone, but would immediately preorder a Scorpio if it came in at £350 ($399). I'd sell my Xbone to raise some moolah. Get £100 for it. I'd be totally down for a £250 Scorpio.
I must be the only person though that hopes I can still use my Kinect 2.0. with Scorpio. Say what you like about Mattrick but he called it right on voice control. See the massive market developing with Amazon Echo, Google Home etc.

Maybe the "10" part refers to the number 2 in binary format. X10S = X2S
MS doesn't give any fucks about numbering. 10 sounds cooler. They skipped Windows 9 and it was a good choice.

Would also be a good naming sheme going forward with their game backward/forward compatibilty. Game XY needs at lest Xbox One / Two / Three to be playable.

Xbox 10 makes sense. But I really don't understand the lettering. Unless they'll use the letter S to group the consoles in a generation like fashion. Like the Xbox 1S and Xbox 10S are apart of series S. This game supports series S systems etc. Or is their plan to use binary numbers going forward lol
I'm really not sure what they're up to, I honestly thought they were going to go the apple route, ditch the numbers and call them Xbox and Xbox Pro.

I'm still in the $450 camp, but wouldn't be shocked if they say "fuck it" and sell at a loss at $399, the real money is in Gold subs anyway, so easy enough to justify imo.
399 was always wishful thinking. 499 or 449 sounds right.
Maybe they'll do a 399 for a limited time type of thing?

I'll stay firmly in $349 territory just because $399 won't surprise me anymore and I think it would be the complete turnaround. Xbox One was more expensive than PS4 and less powerful, Scorpio might be cheaper than PS4 Pro and more powerful. Just more power won't do anything for them, they have to do both to have a real impact and have a great exclusive lineup.
Because people who actually have seen it and analyzed it have said it's 499 and up.
Unless you are actually in the know, I'd take their word over yours.

These people you talking about always treat PS4 pro and Scorpio like release at the same time which is not, and Scorpio doesn't have some crazy GPU and still using crappy CPU, it won't and don't have rights to price it above 400 unless they want a DOA console.

Concerning the Elite as the standard controller, I highly doubt it since the normal Xbox controller was used to power up the not visible Scorpio in the teasers.
Of course. They may do the Xbox One S route selling the more expensive model first and then the cheaper model at a latter date.
And? It's still going to have different, most likely more expensive, parts too.

Scorpio early adopters are likely to be the same sorts of people who already own those, would increase the BOM and MRSP for little gain. If there are multiple SKUs, then it's more of a possibility.
The only way they will include an elite controller is if they release a high end Elite SKU in addition to the "entry level" Scorpio.
Ah, good point, didn't even think of that. Can definitely see it having a top tier SKU with one though.

That seems to be a decent price for what you get, I don't really think they can afford to release it at a higher price. At that price, it should be a nice sideline for them in the way that the Pro has been for Sony, I'm not sure they'd need to but maybe the Pro will get a price drop this year in an attempt to repeat the success of the standard PS4 with the standard model getting a "mass market" price drop?
