VGLeaks Durango specs: x64 8-core CPU @1.6GHz, 8GB DDR3 + 32MB ESRAM, 50GB 6x BD...

This happens far more often than people expect.

Man, that next gen war is in full swing.

Let's just call BS on all these leaks already. In reality everything is just to quiet about next-gen. We don't know anything about games, controllers, or maybe even something new. It's like all these source leaks is from one person.

It's all a lie, MS doesn't have a new Xbox. They've actually been working on a car, and it really is named Durango.

It's powered by fairy tales.

Or powered by something these vgleaks aren't talking about. Details on the new systems are tight lipped which should make us question these leaks.

Chrysler lawsuit forthcoming.

Nah the Durango from MS is simply replacing the current CPU in the Chrysler vehicle. It can BARELY handle it. Runs on an Apple 2 GS core. The secret sauce is just a double bios if the bios gets corrupt during a bad jumpstart.

My guess is that vgleaks got those console overviews from someone who isn't directly involved in console/games development, so they aren't able to drill any more in-depth information.

I wouldn't be surprised if this made it into the next article by vgleaks or kotaku :p

from Orbis thread about need of bandwidth in advanced games and why is it so important now.

DDR3 with stalker DX11 on A10 from AMD:

Let's hope those DMA will give noticeable boost.

This is probably what will happen if the graph was expanded to cover more speeds. Given that there will be 102GB/s for more heavily used elements, there won't be much difference. 102+68 is effective for graphical work since the heavily used things can be used by the 102GB/s and the more generic less used data can use the 68GB/s.

The effectiveness of bandwidth goes down as you get into really high bandwidths. If the APU in your picture could have 70GB/s it would gain minimal performance going up to 200GB/s.

edit: ok so I got the ram bandwidth completely wrong in the chart because I was thinking on the top of my head. 1333 DDR3 is 21GB/s and 2133 is 34 GB/s.

the guy i quoted just said this:

i completely agree with him.
by the way, quoting a random person from B3D is a hell of a lot better than quoting some randon "insider" and treat his words as gospel.

Here's a great quote from the same thread, few posts ahead.
It's only 170 GBps if you add the embedded memory bandwidth and the main memory bandwidth together. That's basically like saying it has a 12.8 GHz processor. And since you're eventually going to have to write to or read from main memory, the 68GBps DDR3 bandwidth is going to present some hard limits to what you can do in a given frame.
Reminds me of how a friend of mine thought the 360's CPU cores would be 9.6GHz in total. :D

you clearly have no idea about what you are talking about, at all. Durango maybe end up being overall better choice console and sell better just like PS2 did regardless of specs, but You cant tell 0 from 1.

We had our Microsoft Gold Partner come in yesterday to show off (and try to sell an implementation for) Lync 2013. Lync is pretty much the corporate version of Skype, with full integration with Outlook, Office, Sharepoint etc.

The main sales guy mentioned than the next Xbox will ship with 1080p Kinect and have full integration with both Skype and Lync. He suggested that the next Xbox will find a place in boardrooms, due to its native, high quality, video conferencing abilities. He was worried, as they're also a partner / reseller for Polycom.

interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Just casually broke NDA. Awesome.

So, Cell would be six or seven times 3.2GHz?

Cell only has 1 PPU core but the 6 SPE's that are about 25 GFLOPS each give you 150 GFLOPS of Compute power as if it was 1 SPE clocked at around 19.2GHz (depending on how good they scale ) but that would burn your house down.

the 3 cores in the Xbox 360 CPU didn't scale in this way so having 3 3.2GHz cores wasn't like having a 9.6GHz CPU.
