I guess it varies by store and product as I found it when buying Resident Evil 4:

So I just picked up my copy from GameStop. In the past I've gotten them to pricematch Fry's before, so I thought I wouldn't run into any problems today...

Me: "Can you guys pricematch Fry's, please? They have it for $39.99"
Me: *shows GS employee the Fry's ad*
GS: "We don't actually pricematch anymore."
Me: "Huh? I've done it before many times."
GS: "Sorry, we can't do. So do you want to buy the strategy guide? You'll save 20% on it?"
Me: "No thanks."
Me: *hand GS employee my credit card*
Me: "So just to be sure, your return policy is 30 days with a reciept for unopened games, right?"
