Virtous handled Dying Light and Nier Automata versions for the Switch which are some of the best ports available on system. If they put the same care into this Switch 2 port of Elden Ring it should be more than fine. They did the absolutely botched PC port of Horizon: Zero Dawn that Nixxes and Guerrilla themselves had to step in and fix, so... good luck Switch bros.
Nah, it's in good hands. Their Nier Automata port on Switch was the stuff of legends. It had a higher resolution than the PS4 version and while some textures were noticeably lowered it ran at an extremely smooth 30fps.They did the absolutely botched PC port of Horizon: Zero Dawn that Nixxes and Guerrilla themselves had to step in and fix, so... good luck Switch bros.
I believe the backwards compatibility versions are locked 60 right? With some luck we might get the PS4 version with an stable framerate as well. Now I wonder if the Switch 2 edition will have a steady 60fps compared to the other consoles.

I played the PS4 version on PS5 but it still had slight hiccups and framerate dips. Not often enough to be annoying, but they were still there.I believe the backwards compatibility versions are locked 60 right? With some luck we might get the PS4 version with an stable framerate as well.
So full price just to play a 3+ years old game at 60FPS?

It's going to be 30fps. You need to lower these expectations or you are in for disappointment. Now I wonder if the Switch 2 edition will have a steady 60fps compared to the other consoles.
Ah, I see... Then we might just get an unlocked framerate like all the current gen consoles, 40-50 fps or so.I played the PS4 version on PS5 but it still had slight hiccups and framerate dips. Not often enough to be annoying, but they were still there.
Why?I hope ER Switch-2 version got extra content, Nintendo deserve it
It's like the opposite of SonyAnother game announcement before hardware announcement.
Most old 3rd party games maybe. I don’t know that devs will be willing to try and put Series/PS5/PS6 games on the console.I expect most third party games on switch.
I already do on a Steamdeck. To play it on the toilet.

PS4 tech is 10+ years old. So that kind of comparison isn’t super helpful/accurate.Switch is supposed to have ps4 like gpu power? Game should run pretty good. Still waiting for ps5 pro upgrade News.

There will be tired versions of Links shield and master sword in the game, like many other uninspired Nintendo ports.I hope ER Switch-2 version got extra content, Nintendo deserve it

Don't forget Lego horizon !!!A bunch of games from past consoles will be on Switch 2 for sure

Every single sale would be from double dippers. And having played Elden Ring, I’m not sure it’s a good thing.Imagine depriving yourself of one of the greatest games of all time for almost 4 yours only to play it on a Switch 2, lmao.
We just have to wait and see, but ER is a PS4 game.At least this is an indicator that the Switch 2 is decently powerful and that it will get third party support and not just I indies. Not always a given.
