It's just emulation in the PSP environment. There is no PSV homebrew per se, so what is there to add really?
Well a little clarity on the thread title will help. It's a bit misleading.

I made this thread when Yifan Lu announced he hacked the Vita. There's been no news since then.Well a little clarity on the thread title will help. It's a bit misleading.
No. But obviously it most likely will.
Just a question, assuming I can still get the game tomorrow morning: If I have multiple cards, I have to copy the game to each one?
I find that no matter what, it looks somewhat blurry, even with the filtering off. But 2D games I've tried (SFA3:Max, Tactics Ogre, various emulated arcade games) still look pretty great. Finally purchased a compatible game in time.
I'm interested on how emulators look like on the vita especially when their stuck in native psp resolution. Will they still look sharp if I remove any sort of filtering (I like my games sharp and pixely)?
Yeah that's right you have to have a copy on each card to start the exploit![]()
Ah I see. I didnt know that. Is there any diff between what cfw on psp can do as compared to the psv? I know from reading the last few pages that psv cant use popsloader yet, is that right? It's just emulation in the PSP environment. There is no PSV homebrew per se, so what is there to add really?
So I got the Gravity Crash game but was wondering if the steps in the Wolo Blog will work right away or if we have to wait for a version tied to this game before we can crack it? I'm preparing my Kingdom Hearts ISO so haven't had a chance to see if anything actually works yet.
Right, no support for custom PS1 ISO rips because hackers still haven't achieved kernel access that would allow them to access the PSX modules of the PSP.Ah I see. I didnt know that. I believe you have to wait for a build specific to that game, because they are based on save files you transfer over. That's how it was with urbanix and mba anyway.
Yep from wolo: "The files for the exploit will be distributed in a few days. In the past, Sony has usually removed exploited games from their stores within 48h, and we have generally released the files after that.
"
Same. Get that one.
Same old PSP homebrew, just on a nicer OLED screen. Is this doing anything new? Or are you just running the same stuff psp did?
Was Monster Hunter brought back on PSN? I know that was one of the earlier exploitable titles, and I was shocked to hear it was taken down.
Got the latest exploitable game earlier Sunday afternoon. So, how do these exploits work? Is it like the PS3 in that the holes get filled up and you cannot update or is it like flashcards on DSi/3DS where the exploit is patched but there's a way to update and bypass the new blockage? All I really know is it's a PSP-level exploit, which I'm perfectly fine with. I'd actually love to replay some of my PSP games on that screen, but some of them aren't even on PSN. And then there's the whole act of rebuying them off of PSN...das a lotta money. Shoulda had regular backwards compatibility. D:

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I bought gravity crash does that mean in order to use this exploit ill be stuck on 1.81 indefinitely?

PSY・S;44004492 said:Question. I just got a second Vita but it's a WiFi model and I want to continue using my original 3G model as my main Vita. I still have the unpatched MBA and OpenCMA. Will I be able to just transfer MBA and its save over to the new Vita and not worry about messing up the exploit in any way?
Also, can I use one memory card on two Vitas (under one account)?
Edit: Forget the memory card thing.
Pretty sure you can switch the memory cards between the two Vitas.
You will just lose the bubble arrangements and any customized backgrounds each time you do, so it kind of sucks.
Not what would happen if you switch between two Vitas with different FW as would eventually happen though.

Yep, even notoriously difficult to crack games like Phantasy Star Portable 2 work.So as far as PS1 support it's really only useful if you want to play PS1 games you own on disc, but don't want to pay for again on PSN?
I'm dumb and purchased most of the PS1 games I own on disc again on PSN (those that are available anyway), so if this is true, it wouldn't be very useful for me in it's current state. PSP CFW was so awesome because I could play games I owned on disc, but Sony for whatever reason was unwilling to release on PSN.
P.S. Just remembered, how about PSP games? Can the current Vita CFW play games like KH:BBS - games that never saw a release on PSN?
Sad news for the five developers still releasing PSP games in the West.Sad news for developers who are doing creative work on the Vita.
Sad news for Sony, who was relying on a lack of piracy to woo what few developers would come over to the system.
Sad news for those invested in PSN, because a lot of their efforts will be undermined by piracy.

If you don't have any of the games with the save data loopholes, it doesn't matter what firmware you have. You won't be able to run the exploit.I have a brand new FEB PS Vita, which firmware would that come with? Also what's the best way to put cfw on that? I would assume this would come with the oldest firmware right?

Monster Hunter was patched in firmware 1.80 or something, so that doesnt work anymore. Earlier games like Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Super Collapse 3 were also exploitable and removed. They are added back now, but you cant use them for exploit now.I just finished reading the entire thread. I'm still not 100% certain on some things. The two PSN Mini games have already been removed from all stores from all regions.
I also saw something about an MH exploit? Last time I checked MH was still available for purchase from PSN. So can I just buy MH and get cfw on the Vita that way?

Gravity Crush is now removed from the PS Store , so you're too late at this point unfortunately. All you can do now is the wait for another game to be exploitable.
It is being said that the kernel exploit is easy for Sony to patch, so it might be that this was the last chance that it will actually work. You need to be on the latest Vita firmware to buy stuff from the store, so at this moment there is no way around. The only hope is that some makes another game exploitable before the next Vita firmware will come out.

You have to be connected to PSN to transfer from PS3, so updated FW required.Couldn't you buy a game on PS3 and transfer it to the Vita?
I have a bit of confusion here. I have done the exploit and I know it works, but I have no clue on how to transfer files. I have the FTP Vita application, but I cannot connect to the FTP address it gives me. Using FileZilla isn't helping, either.
How do you get the FTP program to run on the VIta? I'm clueless.
