I started playing VLR yesterday and I'm having a hard time using my finger. Will any old capacitive stylus work or is there a recommended one?
I guess if I had to rank them:
Eden > Monsters > Shooter 2 > Shooter > Sidescroller
come to think of it, I haven't played 4am either, but it's not really my thing anyway
So, I got the platinum in NLKS. Took me about 45-50 hours? I thoroughly enjoyed that game, really didn't want it to end. The slowdown is only noticeable if you have around like 12-15+ soldiers in your guard, and really only when you're in town or around tons of enemies. If you absolutely can't stand performance issues, it'll probably annoy you but I just loved the game nonetheless. I didn't notice any weird translation issues, but I'm playing on the American version, I've heard a few European translations were kind of goofy but there was nothing bad.
40$ is a really steep price for the game, especially when it's digital only but the amount of content you get is pretty great, plus if you're short on space it's only like 650MB.
Anyone had a problem with the left shoulder buttons?
It sound's very 'clicky' compared to the right one. Also it will sometimes, stick. I heard if you tighten the screw near it, it sort's it out.
Can anyone confirm this?
I have no idea what 4am is.
But I'd put it at
Sidescroller > Eden > Shooter > Monsters -- Shooter 2 left out because I haven't played it yet.
Sound Shapes is killing my thumb and making me want to gauge my eyes out. The Death Mode is good but I think it relies too much on luck. I've got three of the albums to go on Death Mode and I think I'm going to complete it now just for the satisfaction of knowing that it didn't get the better of me. Two platinums is a bonus though.
ugh, someone please convince me to buy (or not buy) Sound Shapes, because I'm on the fence again :\
it's starting to seem like it's not even worth the $7.50

I had the same problem with my thumb after pressing jump so much.
I found playing it on PS3 put a great deal less stress on my thumb. Also found it easier to toggle between grip/slide with R1 over the Vita's poor shoulder buttons
Well the thing is I'm not a regular PS+ subscriber. I only am at the moment because I got a handful of 1 month trials recently, but those codes all expire around summer, I think.
I doubt I'll ever actually pay for a subscription. So the sale price right now is more tempting than it would be otherwise.
I'm honestly surprised why anybody would not want PS+. Even for the discounts alone it's more than worth it. Do you just not play a big amount of games? I guess it would make sense if that's the case. Or if you don't have a PS3 also, I could see PS+ not being a HUGE reason to get it.
Well there are a few reasons -- first, I don't care for the "free" games because they feel like rentals to me and I prefer outright ownership. Second, I rarely buy PSN games unless they're discounted already, so the value proposition is only the additional discount offered beyond the standard discount (approx 30%... on some games, sometimes). Third, I have no interest whatsoever in downloading retail games, whether as PS+ rentals or at a discount or whatever.
And, lastly, I have a mental block against paying monthly/annual fees on ANYTHING, pretty much, especially when the precise service is not explicitly known prior to payment. In other words, even though it's far-fetched to assume I wouldn't glean value from the service, the fact that I have no guarantee I will (depending on game selection) makes it difficult for me to fork over the cash upfront. The only times I've even considered subscribing is when there were some really excellent sales with a lot of games I wanted, so I weighed the cost/benefit of purchasing a 3-month subscription in addition to those discounted games at that moment in time.
I actually think PS+ is awesome, it's kind of just a confluence of personality quirks in my case that lead me to not subscribe. >_<
Ah, okay. Out of curiosity, do you also not similar things like Netflix's instant watch?

Lately SCEA has given us s*** after s*** month so I could see why someone would not want to pay $4 a month or whatever it comes out to. Hell if it wasn't for the old good stuff they gave out that I'm still trophy whoring on PS3 and Vita I would switch to a month by month basis.
Well, Netflix is terrible in Canada anyway, haha.![]()
Well, I mean, are you interested in that type of service? I was just wondering whether not wanting to play free games under a subscription extended to the same type of thing with movies, like Netflix instant watch, or with music like Spotify or Rdio.
Perhaps... I've honestly never thought much about it because of my Canuck bandwidth caps and the fact that selection here is relatively poor. Most of my movie watching comes from blu-rays I borrow from my public library lol.
My predictions
-Soul Sacrifice breathes 2 months of life into Vita in Japan allowing Sony to capitalize on the momentum by announcing new games and partnerships. This probably won't happen because Sony is incompetent..
Not sure why anyone thinks Soul Sacrifice will do anything for Vita in Japan. I can't even name Japan's last Z-rated original IP blockbuster.
PSO2 has a lot more potential in my opinion.
During Q1 or early Q2 Vita is dropped to $199 permanently and price cards get a permanent pricecut too. 64GB and maybe 128GB cards are announced too.
In the E3 Sony announces :
- FF Type 0 HD to be released worldwide September 2013 as a PS3/PSV cross buy & cross save game.
- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd G HD to be released worldwide October 2013 as a PS3/PSV cross buy, cross play & cross save game.
- Last Guardian to be released worldwide November 2013 featuring a surprising cross controller 2nd screen experience.
- FF X HD to be released worldwide December 2013 as a PS3/PSV cross buy & cross save game.
- Monster Hunter 4G announced as a PS3/PSV cross play & cross save game.
- Vita gets PS2, PS3 and PS4 games thanks to Gaikai.
- They stopped to talk about Agent because is coming November 2013 for Vita.
- GTA San Andreas story to be released May 2014 for Vita, developed by other Rockstar team.
- Call of Duty 2013 is fully multiplatform, Vita and PS3 versions feature cross play and cross save.
- Sony buys Quantic Dream and Ready at Dawn, both recently hired stuff to create a 2nd team focused on Vita games (being God of War Vita the first one announced).
- New Uncharted Vita, developed by Bend, features a quality jump like the one seen form U1 to U2. Also features connectivity with U4 (announced to be released as PS4 launch game).
- Loco Roco Vita and Parappa Vita are coming from Japan.
- Journey and Unfinished Swan get a Vita port.
- PS4 is announced to be released Spring 2014 and includes in the box both a DS4 and a Vita, rising the cross play, cross controller, remote play, cross buy and cross play to a new level. Most of the 1st party PS4 announced games support them.
- As final surprise Kojima appears to announce MGSV (PS3, 360, Vita). Ground Zeroes is a stand alone DLC separated prologue. MGSV is coming to Vita too and features a new level of transfarring (cross play + cross controller + cross save).
After the conference Totobeni says that Vita is saved and starts to be really optimistic.
This is ... hmm.
Long amazing Vita list
This is ... hmm.
I started playing Virtua Tennis 4 online hoping to get that 3 wins in a row trophy but I've discovered that I must have been playing wrong in single player the whole time. People are pulling off shots against me that I have no idea how to do myself. For example, when I try to "spike" the ball down hard and fast from near the net, most of the time I just lightly tap it back over. Can someone explain the trick to timing swings for me?
Lately SCEA has given us shit after shit month so I could see why someone would not want to pay $4 a month or whatever it comes out to. Hell if it wasn't for the old good stuff they gave out that I'm still trophy whoring on PS3 and Vita I would switch to a month by month basis.
The game looks lovely. I just don't think it has wide enough appeal to move a significant number of units. You mean the F2P always online MMO that historically doesn't move more than 200k? You must not think highly of Soul Sacrifice. I'm not sure it was given a CERO Z too. Those are usually only for incredibly gory games, or those that allow violence towards innocent bystanders.

A question guys, maybe you folks know the answer.
My work colleague just bought a 2nd hand 3G Vita Asia Version but for some reason it cannot detect the SIM card and thus cannot enjoy the 3G feature. Is the Asia Version of the Vita locked so it can only read specific SIM card from specific countries or something like that?
We are in Indonesia.
Question... on this page: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/12/31/playstation-store-update-272/
It says Touch My Katamari is on sale for PS + members for $8.57. When I check on my vita, it says it's $12.24. Which should it be...?
