Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | February 2013 | The most desirable handheld in Japan

damn I am loving my white vita, this is by far the best sony hardware I have ever used! I can't believe the dev community didn't give this a chance.

my 4 has done me more then well and i just started to feel the need for a increase.
ran to craigslist after your first post about it but nothing, will start checking regularly now that im actually in need

Check some of the surrounding towns as well. There are 3 different craigslists I check when looking for an item.

So I clicked the home button on my Vita last night, and up popped an ad for the Vita Anniversary Sale. Underneath it, it said check back next week for more anniversary sales, so it looks like we have at least another week or two of cheap games. Not sure if this was already known, but it was news for me.

The dev community never was the culprit. The Vita had more games coming out than the 3DS in a comparable time frame. The "gaming community" itself was to blame for making this product seem like a failure (on top of Sony making some stupid advertisement decisions).

And considering devs are finally openly showing their love for this platform, all will end well :)

No, they wouldnt. I am not playing MLB because its a Euro sport, or Yakuza because its a Euro centric game. It would actually be a reason to buy it, since I could just buy MLB instead otherwise.

A localization would still give them money, even if it might not sell as well as in japan.

Edit: TotP recommendation sponsored by Solid Snakes behind:

Love this series have not played in a few years but might jump back in with Vita version.

Are the save files for the retail version of Wipeout compatible with the DD version?
I don't plan on getting rid of the physical copy. I just want quick access to the game.

edit: I guess, I'll download it and find out.

I need to get a bigger memory card!! I got the one year sub to PSN+ and I have loaded uncharted golden abyss, wipeout on my PS3. I want to play those games asap!!

Last day for the Sony Rewards Referral program if anyone is interested shot me a pm.

Also how if Life of Pixel? It looks really neat.

Now its actually enjoyable and recommendable. The music and sound effects are fantastic on top of something that is basically a mediocre challenge platformer which severely misses leaderboards.

Totally agree, and it's reassuring with how well PSN is doing on it too. Indies = Handheld when available now.

Might go inform the Dyad dev :p With the steam game rumour listing a while back Dyad showed up :(

Oh update. Going on 3 days now since deleting Facebook app with no hiccups yet. So yea seriously if you have any lockup or weird issues delete that shit off your Vita. I still have Twitter on it but no problems with it.

Yeah, I was taking back that post, because apparently thats not Zeboyds issue on that matter (see his reply in that thread).

I was never sure as to how to get in on the referral program, but I do know someone who got one recently (vita)

And two others that got one for Christmas

The part about it that confuses me is the serial number part. I'm not sure what it takes to get a successful referral. Out of the 12 I sent out only 2 completed successfully and show that both myself and the recipient will get $20 PSN.

It seems like I'm a day late and a dollar short on this whole thing.

No problems here. I had the Facebook app since it was released.

proud parent of a 4gb since november BF sale....

it pains me to only keep 2-5 games ranging from vita, psx, psp, and minis but i refuse to give in to the 32gb prices.... been scouring daily to find one for 60. itll happen one day... hopefully a bigger card will be announced though by that time.

also it might have gotten buried a few pages ago...

Just picked up Smart As and Super Star Dust Delta. For anyone interested in comparing brains/scores/girth feel free to add me: LanZero_97

Really hoping for a PSO2 localization. That would be the end of me.

This right here is part of what's killing the Vita. I have a 32GB card that's close to being full, so, even though I seriously contemplated double-dipping on a few of the titles in the Vita anniversary sale, I didn't b/c of lack and cost of GB's on the Vita.

SONY needs to get the 64GB and 128GB card on the market and then drop the prices of all of them by 50%. 32GB's may cut it for iOS/Android apps, but when Vita games are clocking in as high as 4GB's, 32GB's seems like a wash.

I got rid of the Facebook app. b/c you still can't launch it if a game is running. Lame.

Maybe not killing it, but yeah, its a big annoyance. But due to that I actually started playing Trails in the Sky again to finally finish it, which I wouldnt have done without the memory card issue, so.. yay?

I can see the desire for having a 64 and 128GB card, but I don't find them necessary.

When I was on my 16gb card for 2 months, there were a ton of games I wouldn't touch. There were even more than I'd play for 10 minutes, then rarely touch them again.

It is nice having your whole library with you at all times but I don't think it's a big deal to transfer 10 GB at a time, give or take

Yea. I am currently using an 8GB card I got with my Vita and while I can't install everything at the same time, I just play one game until I'm done with it and move to the next. Have not had any memory issues thus far, but it will change as more games come to PS+ I'm sure.

So I am hoping those price drops happen, too. Either way I'm aiming to be patient until there is a price drop because $80 for the 32GB (I think amazon has it at that price?) isn't worth the small amount of frustration a small memory card gives me.

Having P4G physically is what has kept me relatively untouched by memory issues since I only have one physical game (besides AC:lib-yuck) it just stays in all the time.

What is the general consensus on the best grip to get? I think it will get rid of this handcramp I get after longer sessions.

So there is this Kickstarter:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixelscopic/delvers-drop

It has a stretch goal (ugh) of porting the game to other platforms including the Vita, but they put terrible language in that stretch goal that makes it sound like they may only bring to one other platform should they hit that stretch goal.

$240,000 - Porting Enchantment Learned... Would you like to play Delver's Drop on your favorite console or handheld? So would we! We'll port Delver's Drop to one of the following: PS3, XBox 360, Wii U, 3DS, or Vita. This will take us a good deal of binary sorcery... launch would occur in mid-2014. We cannot guarantee distribution of any console version to backers at this time.

If you are going to have stretch goals like this to garner more interest from other platform holders you need to be a bit more specific than "one of the following". If they said for sure a Vita version would happen I would back it and beat the drum for this game, but alas.

The "gaming community" itself was to blame for making this product seem like a failure (on top of Sony making some stupid advertisement decisions).

The "gaming community" just doesn't want $249 handhelds. Look at the 3DS launch disaster.

(and they sure don't want memory cards that cost up to 4x what SD cards cost)

I just bought a used Vita from Cowboom for $129.99. Hope it's in good shape when it shows up. Already bought my Plus membership.

Man, someone should tell them they need to plan that better and ask whether they plan on stating the platforms before the kickstarter ends. I'd support it if I KNEW its going to get a Vita version, but as it stands its only Win, Linux, Android.

Sort of true, it definitely doesnt seem like developers faults however.
