Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

New thread. I'll try and be more active this time!

Pity there's not a great deal I want for March though barring Sly, and I'll likely get the PS3 version here. Has Dokuro been released for us EU people? Regardless, I've still got Persona 4 Golden and a few others which will easily last me well into May/June

I'll get that on PC and iOS for sure. But a Vita version would be a treat! A Battle of the Bulge Vita version would also be a great fit on the platform. Shenandoah Studio seem though an iPad exclusive studio. :(

I'll be pleased with a week of 60-70k+ and be ahead of the 3ds for a week if even by 1,000 units.


They need bigger card than 32gb. Like others have mentioned, my purchasing from PSN has also slowed to a halt because my 32gb card has like 3-4 gb left.
 
Amazing job on the thread, just as last time. Sorry I haven't been posting here much lately, I just tend to post in the threads related to the games I'm playing, and at the moment all I've been using are 3DS and PS3.

Tip! especially for those who switched accounts to play PSO2. Currently there's a free 15 day trial for PS+ for Japan. Just go in the PS+ section of the Playstation Store and redeem it. One of the games included in JP PS+ is Dokuro and its entirely in English.
 
Got my buddy a White Assasins Creed bundle for $160 yesterday on the warehouse deals...

Don't forget the 15 months of plus for the price of 12 end this Sunday if you are interested !

Indies are rehashing Mario in platformers (Fez) and being too complex for their own good (Nethack/Dowrf Fortress) while AAA's take those ideas and scale them down (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon/Mystery Dungeon series. While not as "deep" as Nethack has the general idea and isn't as hard to understand as Nethack/et. al.)

So, yes, both are taking from each other. But in the case of AAA's they're polishing those ideas and they're less "buggy"/a pain in the ass to understand--play than Indie games.

I mean take Hotline Miami, a bunch of people like that and like the fact that you can shoot people through walls because of the aiming mark being in that room and not yours. I find it extremely janky.

Again: I'd rather have ports to the system of AAA titles for JRPGs and others like the PSP did before it than having Indie titles that I simply can not stand because they're so janky/weird/not my cup of tea, you know? Good for those you that like them, bad for me.
 
I just realized I hardly download anything from my massive download list because i have a 4gb and just want to wait until a 32gb gets a price cut.

Which means i barely play my vita since all my games arnt downloaded LOL.

i have a 4gb too. do you not back up games to free up space and allow yourself ot play more?
 
so i posted on craigslist asking for a 32gb card......and someone sent me a reply saying they are selling them for 65$ on the sony store...

i looked at the sony store and it is still 99$..

does anyone know what this crazy dude is talking about?

wow this game looks fantastic. very tempted to buy this version too considering all the cross-play / cross-save / cross-dlc stuff. my wallet is crying tears of joy.

It was $65 on the Sony Store like a month ago. They sold out very fast, too. I didn't get one but remember people on SD talking about it.

Also, any details on that Sound Shapes DLC?
 
Are the grips really worth it? I remember trying a couple for the PSP and they were awful.

Once I am done with P4G I am tempted to get a new memory card, but also want to grab a grip too.

1- How do you delete Smart as save data? I've set my location to NYC, but I want it to be my country and city if possible >_<.
2- Anyone know where to get the US ver. of P4G for cheap? Like-wise for VLR.

there is no real place to get P4G cheap, not surprisingly a niche game that is selling very well that offers a ton to do isn't dropping in price very fast.

virutes last reward hasn't really been dropping either, but i know it's been on sale once before. I don't know of any cheap places right now though.

If you can speak japanese i think VLR is currently a PS+ game and you can get a PS+ trail for 15 days for free :P

Does anyone know if Gitaroo Man Lives! is available for Vita on the PSN?

I don't have a PS3, so that workaround is no good for me, sadly.

I never tried any for the PSP but my goal is to just get my hands a little less cramped up while playing. Reviews are good, someone here recommended one, and they aren't that expensive. If holding the Vita is troublesome for you it might be worth looking into.

Believe me, I did some heavy research to see what was up with the game. I didn't hear about it getting canned until this thread, but I listed it on the EU side cause that at least has actual release dates and blog posts about it coming out. Everything about an NA version is "TBA 2013".

id have to reinstall it to refresh my memory but off the top of my head:
controls were janky at best even after I got used to them
skill level of cpu went from 2yr old to pro in like 1 round there was no real in between
pay for huge advantage chalk really rubbed me the wrong way

i got this pretty much day 1 on vita so if i deleted it at that time i REALLY didnt like it.

I mean for 5$ crossbuy I guess you cant go wrong but it still hasnt, or probably ever will, see my vita again and hasnt seen my ps3 at all so
 
So plans didn't go so good and my brother can't bring his PS3 over to transfer a game. Can I use someone else' and just make a new user on it with my account logged in to download a PS1 game to then transfer to Vita?

You can do that so long as you haven't hit the maximum number of activated devices allowed for your account. You should also be careful to deactivate your account after you're done, or you might not even be able to activate the PS1 game you buy on a third device at all (unless the account limit takes effect at purchase time, in which you're just screwed in that regard).
