Wanted: Dead Original Soundtrack

coming out tmr, damn. this game kinda fell off my radar.

anyone else in this thread a fan of devils third? i had a blast playing it on wiiu and was really bummed that it didnt get the acclaim i thought it deserved. im really happy they believed in the concept and decided to make a spiritual successor.
the collectors edition looks really sweet.

I loved Devil's Third.

I've died multiple times near the very start of the game but its fun. You have to watch your ammo with the assault rifle. The handgun is more of a new variant on the NG shuriken used more for stuns and combos. It feels slower and more deliberate. Not as mobile as NG but you are expected to briefly take cover at times. But not for long as a grenade is coming pretty much after 3 seconds.

You can tell there is a right way to play and a wrong way to play and I dont think youre getting far if you play the wrong way. Have to pick a few off at range, close the distance without eating bullets and then land some sword combos while being ready to counter. Going to take some repetition to get good but I'm enjoying it. The voice acting and cutscenes are the perfect mix of cheesy and 80s / 90s

how is the melee timing and dodge rolling in comparison to devils third?

It feels a lot slower, different. Its interesting. You are a lot more like a Gears of War TPS character that can do some slower slices in close, then move back out to cover. But maybe I'm just learning. The upgrades seem like they'll help too and open some options.

Can can land finishers when they're stunned to go into the main kill animations. Enemies aren't that smart but its on normal. It definitely feels different enough to be its own thing, but also similar to NG and DT a bit. Just a little slower pace on the melee combos but the hits feel like they connect. Can mod the handgun for damage, range or stopping power so I'm definitely going for stop to try and use it as a bit more of a stun.

So far early on its just shooting gallery enemy placement but its still fun if you like that sort of thing. Definitely AA but looks much better than DT in some places. Lighting in particular. Doesn't look actively horrible.

I'll just add, if you liked DT I can't imagine you wouldn't be totally into this. Seems better so far in multiple ways.

But yeah, I'm 40 minutes into the game only.
