(WaPo) Trump asked Coats & Rogers to intervene in Comey's investigation; refused

You don't think the committees know this stuff?

They need to say it loud and proud: Trump needs to go!

Most media that has Democrats, have them voicing their opinions suggesting and flatly saying as much. Writing open letters, going against rumps climate withdrawal.

Besides... gaf and reddit... what are you basing all of th... oh. Wait. It's you...

Lol. Nm..

I am not looking at much coming out from the interview Thursday. I firmly believe that stuff is happening and happened but it is an open investigation.

Trumps response to things said on Thursday is what I will be watching.

I actually think the real news will be Trump's response. Comey will probably confirm everything we know, but Trump won't be able to shut his stupid mouth. He sent 4 tweets during the Yates testimony, I think he's going to unleash the floodgates here.

Thought there was something tomorrow?
Coats is testifying tomorrow.

Edit: It's Coats, McCabe, Rogers, and Rosenstein in an open hearing tomorrow that's supposed to be about re-authorizing part of FISA, but they'll probably get questions about the russia stuff as well

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
The amount of leaks at every level just shows how much people can't stand what Trump has been up to and is up too.

I've never seen anywhere close to this much inside info that's coming from such high up.

Trump must be sweating real actual live bullets. Dude is going around asking anyone he can to stop looking into Flynn and him. He even went over his lawyers and contacted Flynn.

Where are their chants of "lock him up"? Instead it's a constant refrain of: well you know we need to see this investigation through, so far there is no evidence blah blah.

Because they believe in due process rather than mob rule?

Its necessary. It is all about manipulating the public. Basically, feed intel to news that is being attacked by trump, confirm news in congress hearings etc etc, legitimizing the news. They need to shave off as much of the Trump base that they can before they pull the switch to minimize the society meltdown factor that is bound to happen on social media everywhere. Also need to labor on every little detail for as long as possible to get it into the mindset of everyone that there is something going on and its wrong.

The old saying goes "When hunting big game, you got to bring it down with your first shot."

Idiotic windbag or not, Trump is the President and that affords him a whole ton of legal and institutional protection. Democrats are playing this smart in that they are keeping the fire lit, but letting the media and Trump himself, ironically, fan the flames. They're waiting until they have that piece of evidence or what have you that can bring him down for sure.

Sure, we have a ton of statements and leaks, but we have very little 'evidence' right now. That's what Democrats are waiting on. At least, I hope that's what they're thinking anyways.

This is clearly something an innocent man does.

Bring it all down.

But Trump was just trying to save the FBI's resources and alleviate their workload! He knows he's completely innocent, so by dropping the investigation they'd be saving so much money that's not needed!

Frankly, based on that, not dropping the investigation... why, it's tantamount to treason!

I don't understand how this is your first reaction to this story

Because I just saw this D-Senator on CNN being asked if obstruction of justice would be an impeachable offense in his eyes - and he wouldn't even commit to that. He went on and on about how this investigation needs to be done right and his "grocery store test" theory.

Then I read this news and all I can think of is how toothless the Dems have been. Just fucking say it already. Trump needs to be impeached. Drive the narrative. Don't be a bystander. History will look back kindly on you.

Please try to improve clarity if you're going to link a major story like this. I've redone it, but original OP and its sparse quote with little context did not convey much. If you're unsure how to go about a fair use excerpt when linking a breaking story like this, remember that there are very specific formatting guidelines that outlets like NYT and WaPo have followed since back in the olden print days. They summarize the critical info in the headline and opening paragraph, then steadily expand the scope of the supporting details with the rest of the word count, regularly doubling back a bit to summarize again so that readers don't get lost. The bombs are usually front-loaded, with the deep dives that back it up coming afterwards.

Well gee man you have to provide that context if you gonna snap in a thread. You sounded like a trumpet.

It's really not the time to be going around for impeachment imo. We're almost there, but more pieces need to fall before it doesn't sound like blind Trump hate(not that there aren't all the reasons in the world, but media play Will be against it until then).

John Schindler broke this 10 days ago:

http://observer.com/2017/05/mike-rogers-nsa-chief-admits-trump-colluded-with-russia/

Since he has been corroborated by MSM, can we start posting his articles again without fear of the lock?
was that not just restating the earlier reporting by WaPo? People were skeptical of that Observer article for other reasons (namely, the title that flatly says Rogers admitted that Trump colluded with Russia, something that's not really substantiated in the article itself), not that Rogers was asked to push back against the FBI probe.
