I picked Loki for my starter frame and he's one of my favourites, Decoy got me out of a fair amount of trouble at the lower levels, and once you start ranking up you can dish out some serious damage with Invisibility and a decent melee weapon.

I can't say the frame rate is any better than before. Yesterday the game dipped in the single digits in a normal mission with not much going on, and some missions still drop under the 20's consistently. Sometimes it gets so bad I think the game froze but it takes about 15 seconds to slowly move a couple frames and then back to normal.

No, the game is optimized like crap. The frame rate is actually better than it used to be. Though not by much.

Good to know I was suspecting my HDD might be the issue here since It's actually kinda hard to believe it could run close to 20fps while nothing is happening around 0_o

can anyone who changed out their PS4 hdd tell me if the time to load levels is cut way shorter if you use a 7200 rpm hdd? I also have a PC and tried this game out earlier and noticed that the load times for levels are less than 10 seconds compared to what seems like nearly a minute on PS4.

Here's some thoughts regarding oxy farming:

1) Nova + Rhino combos tend to yield more oxy, even if it's just 2 man teams.

M. Prime + Rhino stomp helps in reducing the overall chances of people not killing the ospray in time.

I've done a couple 2 man runs with this setup that yield more oxys than a 4 man gaf setup.

2) Rhino Stomp is a double edged sword - don't spam it.
There are 2 disadvantages to Rhino Stomp.
a) A stunned target is harder to track than a moving target - this is a problem when neither the rhino or his teammates are aware of the presence of an oxium ospray. The problem is magnified when the Rhino leaves the vicinity without looking at what enemies are still left alive.

b) Rhino cannot perform another stomp without other stun-locked enemies dead - you don't want to be stuck without a stun when an ospray is nearby. In other words, rhino stomp spamming needs to decrease as enemy levels scales up.

3) The following skills are horrible for oxy farming: World of fire, shadow of the dead.
World of fire will agitate the ospray while not being able to kill it in time.
Shadow of the dead can overcrowd the screen while adding dead osprays to further confuse teammates.

4) If you can't take out an ospray, don't touch it. waypoint it and let other people take care of business.

I've thought about this too not long ago, but scratched the idea. I think even if the levels load faster for you, the "Wainting for players" screen would still be there, so you wouldn't really gain anything from that slightly shorter load time.

Damn, you're absolutely right. Wouldn't do me any good unless everyone suddenly upgraded at the same time.

Another super ass skill: Chaos. I was in a group where a Nyx spammed the hell out of that every wave, and it pissed me off.

Anyway, I swapped to Mag Prime for our group because I wanted to level the frame. I don't like not making progress with my frames. I am making a Nova, but I hope my farm will be done before then.

Also, another tip: if an Osprey charges, it will only blow up if it hits you. If you see one revving up to charge, stop what you are doing and start sliding away so it misses, then go back to shooting. This becomes more necessary at higher waves.

Also, I only spam Rhino Stomp up to the point where it 1-shots enemies. I use it more sparingly after that. Rhino players who arent aggressive with the stomp during early waves are annoying.

Last point: some CC options do not effect the Oxium Ospreys. Mag's Crush will not hold them, for example.

I generally just follow the rule : See an ospray of any kind? stomp it.

I picked the Mag and just bought the plans to the Nova how good are these two frames?

Mag is good for the earlier planets and if you luck out and get some of the good caster mods earlier it will be really sweet. Past that, Mag's a corpus specialist, it will wreck faces specially if they are tightly grouped.

Nova is one of the top tier frames. The plans are not enough to build it, you also need to get the 3 pieces - helm, chassis and systems. Nova's plans drop from Raptor the boss of Europa.

Well I am using a 1TB Samsung EVO in my PS4 and the levels load pretty damn fast. Problem is the game has to get all the players synchronized. And since the netcode can be shit at times with the games it will take a while to load, but when playing solo/zoning into the dojo or booting up the game its loads pretty damn fast.

Same here. He even looks generic enough that he should be.

Are you talking shit about Ash?

Hi all,

Pretty new to warframe and loving it so far. Been using the excalibur starter frame so far but looking to work towards something new. Whats the best male frame for me to look towards? Purely design wise i like oberon and volt but have no idea if either of them will be any good?

I find Nova to be a one trick pony. She's basically a molecular prime machine. Does anyone even use antimatter drop?

I have seen it used rarely. I think it goes underused because if the enemy has low health, you might as well Prime and kill. If the enemy has high health, ditto. Molecular Prime is just so good that her other abilities have trouble finding purpose.

While we're on the subject, I'm trying to figure out what to pick for my next frame (currently have a Loki and Nyx).

I was leaning towards building a Rhino but the last few posts about Nova have got me thinking again, any advice or thoughts?

It depends on what you need. Both are great frames.

What determines a Sentinel's firing range: the Sentinel, or the gun it has equipped?

I'll probably end up getting both eventually, just fancied hearing some opinions from people on which one they might pick out of the two and why (for example maybe they have more fun playing with one, or maybe they prefer playing high level content with one etc.).

I'd say go with Rhino. He has 3 useful abilities while Nova only has 1 (ok, 2 if you count Worm Hole, but that rarely gets used). I find Nova really dull to use.

rhino stomp can be good bc the ospray are usually much more powerful and require more hits anyway. the stomp usually clears everything else around it.

as an alternative, you can always remove focus and just use stretch. that way you can just suspend everything without killing it.

Yeah. I tried using it but it's really difficult to aim in tough situations where you're like: why didn't I just m prime them as usual? She's a regular ol' molecular prime machine. But also add to that she is really fast and mobile. Makes her a bit uninteresting to play though.

Only the sentinal. So it's not really worth switching its main weapon.
Well, since Djinn has massive range but his gun misses a lot, I was thinking about giving him the Deth gun.

I'll probably end up getting both eventually, just fancied hearing some opinions from people on which one they might pick out of the two and why (for example maybe they have more fun playing with one, or maybe they prefer playing high level content with one etc.).
Both are relaxing to play because they are so OP.

Some find her boring, others love the power. I have yet to try her.

Ha!
I love opinions :)

My favourite Warframe in the game is Nova, if I want to have fun and run around kicking ass, I pick her every time. And her fragility makes me stay on my toes, keep moving, stay fully concentrated. And I love that.

Rhino is my least favourite Warframe.
When I see others using him on standard missions and infested invasions, my first thought is "huh, you really don't have any confidence in your own ability to play this, do you?"
To me he's a one trick pony, Iron Skin.
And his sole purpose is to negate any negative effect in Nightmare mode or vault runs only.
Outside of that, I'll never pick him.
Using him makes you so complacent.

Rhino is another top tier frame, can't go wrong with it.

I just found ember parts as well are they good?
Ember can out-damage Nova in most situations. Her ult, in conjunction with Accelerant, deals a respectable amount of damage. Accelerant serves a dual purpose: buffing her ult, and more importantly IMO stunning enemies in a radius. This gives you time to cast your ult, line up headshots, and/or get out of dodge. She's my preferred frame to run invasions with; just use her ult and sprint through everything. I've even out-damaged Novas in T3 defense with her. You may want to forma her aura polarity to a dash to use energy siphon, though. Build her for duration in lieu of power damage to get most of Accelerant/her ult.

Ha ha!! Wow. Not so stealth dig at Rhino players there. He is easily one of my favourite frames, vying for top position actual. I only use Ironskin in the most extreme situations because his armour and shields are so great with some enhancement. Plus he has Rhino stomp and Rhino charge which are both awesome. I play Nova too and she's cool but if you're looking for a one-trick pony it's her. There's no question about that.

Aside form the grindiness this and my other psn games make me forget there is a ps4 drought. It even got my cousins watching.

Nova is the one trickiest of all ponies. Rhino has 3 legitimately useful abilities. Rhino Charge is really his only throwaway. He's top tier for sure, possibly the best in the game.

The point of the post is that it's pointless if the stomp spammer isn't aware of the presence of the ospray/leaves immediately after stomping (thinking that everything is dead.)

You want to keep focus on, because everything else being dead (and on ground) makes it easier to spot the ospray.

Aside form the grindiness this and my other psn games make me forget there is a ps4 drought. It even got my cousins watching.

"blah blah blah indie games and F2P games don't count, PS4 has a drought" - some parts of neogaf.

So I have everything to build nova. Will I have to delete my loki since I only have 2 character slots? I also have a rhino.
you can buy additional frame slots for 20 plat. You're going to have to do the same with weapon slots (12 plat) once you run out of space. You should spend the majority of your plat on slots.

I didn't know there were weapon slots. So every time I build a weapon it takes up a slot? I have been trying to get all the weapon trophies and the build 20 things one so I have been building shit I don't even want. What is the best weapon for a nova?

While weapon choice is personal preference, you can't go wrong with the Soma. It is mastery-rank locked at 6 though. Give the Karak a try for something similar if you don't qualify for the Soma.

Amazing that the release of Warframe has made me and several I know stop playing, since we don't know whether a potential account migration might destroy some of our effort. :D

Depends on how you play her. My favorites regardless of class are...

Primaries:

  1. Soma: Critical Hit Machine
  2. Burston Prime: Status Effect Machine
  3. Boar Prime: Need at least one shotty
  4. Penta: Something different and comically powerful

Secondaries:

  1. Bronco Prime: Devastating up to medium range and ammo efficient enough to use as primary. My body is ready for dual Bronco Primes.
  2. Despair (or Kunai): Throwing knives are simply cool
  3. Not sure what would be third, but there's a big gap after Despair
