Almost all the Reach multiplayer maps were in single player.
Reach had the worst maps in the series too.

Really? 4 small maps and forge for 4v4 and smaller and only 2 maps for BTB?
What the fuck is this? This is the first map I've seen where they completely fucked up the aesthetic. Why the hell did they get rid of all the grass and make the map so ugly? Looks less pleasing to the eye than Hemorrhage.
that concept art looks so damn fresh, and we end up with a next gen brown versionDefinitely agreed, it's a huge step back. Vibrant colors traded in for muddy brown ugliness

This was the concept art too, what the fuck happened!?
Needed more orange and less blue, I guess.Definitely agreed, it's a huge step back. Vibrant colors traded in for muddy brown ugliness

stinkles pls
Why is every gameplay of this only show BR starts? It's boring as hell. There is zero weapon variety except for BR, rockets, and snipers since player ignore every other weapon on the map when they already spawn with the best. No SMG, Plasma Rifle, Magnum or duel wielding of any kind is every employed because of it.
Are playlist hoppers all going to be exclusively BR starts?
It's especially stupid since Ascension's remake actually took what was originally a brown mess and made it into a new bright and colorful vibrant map....yet they reversed that logic for Coagulation, which is indisputably the most iconic MP map in all of Halo.
I bet it plays well in all, but goddamn it's ugly. 343 could have fucked any other map in halo history and I wouldn't have gave an ounce of shit, just not Blood Gulch damn it!
You will be able toHopefully we can still play the original Bloodgulch. That looks fucking terrible.
You will be able to
This is just the version of the map for the halo 2 anniversary mode
The original halo 2 multiplayer with all the maps is included in the game
Halo 4 best selling Microsoft title in the US!
Oh wait.
Definitely agreed, it's a huge step back. Vibrant colors traded in for muddy brown ugliness

Honestly, I don't care if Bloodline plays well, it's so ugly and depressing looking that I don't want to play it, I'm just going to try to avoid it all the time because I'd rather not play a multiplayer map that depresses me.
Thanks 343/CA, thanks for making me want to actively avoid one of my favorite maps.
So with all 4 multiplayer modes (well I guess 5 with H2A) on the disc won't every game have low population since everyone will be spread around?
Why hello there :]
Thanks for all the coverage and your passion in this industry. IGN gets a lot of flack, but you guys are comprised of many talented and genuine individuals. One month until we relive the glory days!
Thanks, I genuinely appreciate that. Seriously.
And to answer other questions in the thread, everything you want (MP & SP footage from all four games, ranking system info, etc.) is all going to be explored in our coverage this month because I want the same things you guys want.
I'm only a little hesitant to share our schedule too far out in case the schedule has to change; I'd rather not disappoint people when it can be avoided.
On that note, though, I'll plug one thing: on 10/22 (exact time TBD, but likely 11am PT) we're doing a 2-hour livestream (unfortunate note in advance: for complex technical reasons beyond my control, it will be a 1080p/30fps livestream, BUT the breakout segments we'll bust out after the fact will be 1080p/60fps, just like the rest of our MCC coverage this month). Max Hoberman will be joining us and we'll be doing nothing but taking requests via Twitter (i.e. game/map/gametype/custom rules). It should be really fun!
Sorry for the long post! I hope people appreciate what we're attempting to do with IGN First. The law of averages means it probably won't be a home run every month (just like my days in magazines; some covers were weaker than others!), but I think our Destiny month and what we're doing with MCC are particular examples of what we are capable of.
originals, easy. What do you think will be more popular, the anniversary maps or the original h2 maps?
How did they not include Midship?!
Might be a dumb question but is H2 multiplayer separated between the original version and the anniversary version? Or is it only the one with updated graphics?
Wait so the H2A multiplayer only has 6 maps? For whatever reason I thought they ported all the maps over, thats kinda disappointing. For as much as I love original Halo 2 I was really looking forward to getting the full experience in modern graphics but I guess that my bad for not really reading up on it.It's a Halo 5 map now.
5 total multiplayer components (not including the Halo 5 beta). Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 all running at 1080/60 in their original state along with an Anniversary edition of 2 that has 6 maps also at 1080/60.
You must have hated all the brown maps and levels in Halo 2 then.
At least your honest about not caring at all about gameplay, I'll give you that.

15 minute video
Gameplay is Crazy King
Also, here are the final map remakes and their names:
Warlock is now Warlord
Ascension is now Zenith
Coagulation is now Bloodline
Sanctuary is now Shrine
Zanzibar is now Stonetown
The design decisions 343 are making.
Look at all the jump-ups they added to Warlord. God-awful.
Not to mention, they brought back a HALO CE MAP, instead of taking a chance with something epic like Waterworks or Terminal.
They just really are driving the Halo series into the grave. Feels terrible.
Remakes have historically been given new names in Halo, starting in Halo 2.Is there any reason why they are changing the names of the maps?
(Sorry, if the original story cover that. I'm at work and can't check game sites.)
Remakes have historically been given new names in Halo, starting in Halo 2.
I know this isn't the first time it's happened.
I wonder if this is a licensing/copyright issue or if it has to due with lore.
LOL @ the cry attack on the first page about all the jump-ups. As though Halo 3 didn't have jump ups galore.
DRIVING THE HALO SERIES TO THE GRAVE BY BRINGING BACK SYMMETRICAL ARENA MAPS AND WEAPON PICKUPS
Unbelievable.

I'm a little confused. Can someone explain this to me?
I thought all of the maps were being remade with updated visuals? Will only these 6 maps be playable in the multiplayer, or will all of the multiplayer maps from halo 2 be assessable, but just not with updated visuals?
The halo 2 that plays like Halo4 is really disorienting me.
If you ever played Halo 2 competitively you would know that the jumpups completely ruins Warlock's layout. There was a reason why jumpups weren't there before because it would ruin the flow of the map.
Halo 5 will most likely be terrible, as expected.
Riiiiiight.Eh, no agenda.
