The campaign slander is insane. It's a great campaign, y'all are crazy.
The gunplay and sandbox approach to levels is fantastic.
The area where it falters is the half baked narrative.

Have they ever fixed the de-sync issue? I enjoyed Infinite, but needing to exit the game and reload just to make it playable was getting old.

No, that's why they're bringing it to PlayStation. Most players de-synced from Infinite and played a better game.

Agree, the actual gameplay and action was great. The half-assed plot and complete change for the storyline was where it fell apart.

You forgot to add :
- 3-4 Promethean "Dungeons" that all looked the same in all their blue -purple glory
- Every cutscene being Master chef literally talking to his hand (Cortana).
- One of the most boring, soulless, empty and same-looking open world's of the last 10+ years - not to mention the YuuuuuGe graphics downgrade.
JFC, I never understood how this was considered to be a "return to form" by many fan(boys), granted, the previous 2 games were an absolute low bar to surpass and yet, ngl, I had more fun with Halo 5 ffs even with the Promethean repetitive shit and bait and switch story.
In fact, my theory is that they must have thought that the grappling hook mechanic thing was sooooo kewl® and ran out of any other fresh ideas that they thought that it could have carried the whole game by itself and/or designed the game around it.
Yes the music was good, yes the weapon sounds were great but, IMO, this is one of the weakest Halo games, heck, I'd take both H4 and 5 any day if the week over this mediocre, undercooked slop.

Campaign worth it for the best Halo gameplay ever alone, forget the flaws, none of the others have the grapple hook (best grapple in any game btw) so they're all shit in comparison.

The grapple hook shouldn't have had any sort of cooldown so as sweet as it was, they still fucked that up too
And it was basically an accident that it even was added to the campaign. It was for MP only and at some point the folx at 343 apparently discovered how boring the base game was, so they brought it over hoping to alleviate the mediocrity.
