Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Welp. There's another thing way worse than WD1. Online hacking sucks now. There's no tension. There's no game of cat and mouse anymore. It's just so easy for the guy defending to cheese. I have never failed to defend a hack. Flying drone plus hacker vision equals easy to find the hacker. The coolest thing about the first game is boring now.

Man, I remember when you first posted this. I shared it with the team and we were very glad to see this feature really paid off for us. Really happy you've enjoyed it :)

The game is full of detail, it's astonishing. Watching the Mr. Robot stream and seeing him mention how he remembered certain areas of the city was a treat.
Alcatraz...wow.
I'm so stoked to see what content is coming up in the future.

Watch_Dogs 2 hit me with such an amazing feeling. I just love the whole vibe/culture/the way they speak/look, etc.

It's not without it's faults but damn the good heavily out weigh the bad for me.

Thanks so much for all the hard work.

Oh, and
GO TORONTO FC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never seen any ambulance dudes do anything, they come to an accident, get out of the car, get back in, and drive away.

Could be a bug on pc? But seems like most npcs are a bit strange, usually in a good way. Cops seem to have no regards of civilians. Saw a SWAT truck mow down a sidewalk.

I've actually had a few successes at hacking now that I have comm disrupt and black out, throw a mass car hack to throw them off your tail and you're Gucci

Am I missing something or is the aiming really floaty on PC? I only did the tutorial with the taser but it felt like the game forced me to wait for Marcus' whole body to turn rather slowly before I could aim behind me. Realistic I guess but feels less responsive than WD1 and Sleeping Dogs

Gotta say, these bros are WAYYYY more endearing than I anything I have seen of FFXV so far. Just started my free PC copy last night and was very impressed.

I agree. The only times I am successful at hacking someone is when they don't have a drone or are in enemy territory. It's also annoying that you don't have a grace period after the initial profile, so you aren't far away from the target and are sitting directly in the middle of the circle with little time to hide. And I have been invaded a ton but nobody has ever gotten below 50% before I find them.

They need to remove that purple indicator telling you which NPCs you haven't profiled yet (hell remove the ability to see highlighted NPCs at all when you are being invaded), put a minimap vision cone on the target's drone, and remove the line in hacker vision showing where drone is connected to the invader so they can keep track of the target more easily.

I have failed maybe 10 hacking for 50 success. The quadricopter is easy to deal with if you have the mass hacking and when players use the hacker vision they are visible on the mini-map. So it's easy to dodge them. I'm more worried when people don't use the hacker vision because I can't anticipate their movements. My favorite technique for the moment is driving around players by staying in their blind spot. On car you can leave the hacking area, change street and come back before the end of the 20 seconds. For the moment it's working well and it's fun to do.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the combat in this. I love everything else but the combat just never feels like it fully comes together. Guns blazing isn't really fun because a) it doesn't feel like it fits the narrative and b) Marcus goes down far too quickly so far. The stealth isn't fun, the takedowns are too slow and expose you for too long which leads into my next point, shit goes south way too quickly and it they don't give you enough toys to get out of bad situations. Even when they do, the best option is usually just to murder everyone.

Hacking is annoying because a lot of it is nonlethal which would be fun except for the part where their buddy just taps them on the shoulder and that instantly recovers them from being electrocuted. My best way of eliminating people without going into a huge firefight so far is just remotely controlling cars and ramming into people. And that gets old.

I've never lost an attack. You're just coming up against n00bs ;)

Only a few missions in, just finished the Scientology spoof mission...I am not sure exactly what it is but so far I like actually like Watch Dogs 1 more. The game is not bad, but so far not as enjoyable as the first. Maybe it gets better?

Cross-post from:

Anyone on PC have an early-ish save game? I think I just fucked myself and forgot to do a hard backup before I tinkered. I was around the New Dawn quest...

do some of these research items require upgraded jump?

Like I have no clue how to get this one otherwise?

Some sure look like they do but most of the time I find a way around it. I was right proud of myself yesterday when I used my RC jumper to land on the drone I had parked. I couldn't make the jump from building to building so I assumed I needed the RC sprint. Parked the drone near the edge of the second building, landed on it and made another mini jump to get there.

The upgraded jump and speed boost are fantastic tho.

Yeah, it's definitely not as breathlessly tense in this. I had some amazing cat and mouse moments in WD1, this not so much. It's still fun, but hacker vision kind of spoils the atmosphere and the drone makes it incredibly easy to find hackers, or be found. I've only ever completed a hack when the target has no drone.

It's still fun mind, and last night I had a quite tense moment when I jumped into a parked truck and hid, seconds before my target ran round the corner. He was stood right by the door profiling people nearby whilst I slumped in the seat 3ft away.

I still love the voyeuristic thrill of being in your targets game and following them around before you even start the hack though. I'm waaaatching yooooooo....

Goddamn I haven't even done the Cyberdriver mission yet and I have played the game for 24 hours now mostly just running around getting money packages and upgrade keys. This is so fun I hope they keep updating it with DLC all the way until the sequel comes out. I'm gonna be sad when I run out of bike races and Driver: San Francisco stuff and that may be soon because there is only a handful of each.

Finished it, loved it! Great game, great atmosphere, great everything. Gonna definitely try to get as many trophies I can, which in open world games, is always a sign that I enjoy the game.

If it's the one I remlember no you don't need the jump upgrade.

Normally there is an elevator on the left allowing you to go on the top of the building. From here you can use the jumper to descend here by jumping from balcony to balcony.

But not sure if it's this one with only this screenshoot.

Yep. Didn't know that you could jump that far tho. Hmmm

Ah if that is what he means then yeah you can do this and make it fine although it is a little challenging. Better jump helps but you can just barely make the first jump and the rest should be slightly easier I think

About how much more game do I have left? I think i did most of the side stuff I've seen so far and I just finished infiltrating
home 2.0 hq
.

Which btw: was a terrible mission lol. I went up the windows cleaner and back down in the middle... failed like 4 times before I eventually just called gangs to distract the guards. Felt like I missed some obvious 'stealth' path or something, or that mission just sucks :/

Pretty sure there are a good amount of missions after that. I want to say maybe half way through all the main missions but I didn't really count them.

I think there are multiple legs to the mission. Do you mean the part that took place at Sutro Tower or somewhere else?

its the one with the office building in which you have to hardwire hack and fend off waves of security guards while waiting for the data to dl.

Basically the one mission after your first introduction to hacking homes I think?

Easy mode for that mission:
Use the window cleaner cart on the side, go on the roof, use your drone and hack cameras to understand where you're supposed to go, then use the inside window cleaner cart to take the jumper to the proper level, get it to hack the terminal and watch everyone go crazy while you're just chilling on the roof.

It may take a few tries but that's how I did it. You have to keep in mind that almost all missions are designed in such a way that your gadgets should get the job done without you ever having to get in harm's way.

Any tips on which part of the skill tree I should focus on upgrading? I cleared the intro mission and I don't have the mini chopper yet (currently saving for it) which comes my next question.
What is best way to collect money apart from using your phone?

Thanks in advance.

oh yeah, forgot that the rc car can do manual hacks for that mission lol. think there was even a grate there too.

shit.

oh well. In a sense I'm glad this game doesn't rate you after each mission like some other games. There aren't even optional objectives?

Just do w/e and get the job done.

Definitely the best open world Ubisoft's ever built. They were already showing great strides with that stuff in Syndicate and even Division.

Maybe the best open world of this generation if I don't count GTA 5. It's a contender, for sure.

I already like the Watch Dogs 2's map better than GTA V's despite it not having that game's production values. The rural areas are better integrated into the urban ones whereas in GTA you had those useless mountains taking up a huge section of the map. And I love how many hills there are to jump off of everywhere. There are tons of landmarks to discover everywhere that look beautiful. Also, Oakland's gang section looks far better than GTA V's and is a lot bigger and more detailed.

My only annoyance are the map boundaries. I just ride off into the sunset not aware of where I'm going and then beep boop "You are leaving San Francisco" and it is so annoying. Untraversible mountains would have been better so I wouldn't keep thinking I can drive past the boundaries.

Man I would love if they just kept zooming out the map, adding more and more landmass with DLC. Ubisoft, gimme more terrain to ride around and more bike races!

omg what an idea, fun!

I love to watch this game on twitch, and I'll probably eventually get it on the cheap, but it just feels wrong that they have an almost fully realized east bay where the pedestrian is king and you can't ride a bike or rollerblade or skateboard. Real missed opportunity. If I want to drive the streets I can play the crew, or drive across the bridge.

Yeah, the only thing I'd change/improve would be to a bicycle so you can ride through central park. Motorcycle is a bit too strong for leisurely getting around.

They should really remove all the gaudy skins from the Season Pass and put real content like that in the DLC.

Approximately how long is the Final Mission (the one in which you get the prompt it is the final mission).
Got to it earlier today as Friday is my work from home day.
My wife got home and had to stop. She is drinking wine like water so she will be asleep within an hour or two.
Trying to figure out if I can make it myself tonight or just wait until tomorrow or Sunday.
Thanks.

It took me a while, but I also did a non kill play through. Maybe an hour or so.

YouTube has a video of a guy finishing it in 36 minutes using guns.

How much better does the game look in 4K versus 1080p?

Quite shocked how great this looks on PC, its the first game where I feel like 4K would make a big difference due to the combination of high detail and long draw distance

Okay cool. I think I can do it tonight. I will go for no kill and see how it goes. Been able to pull it off more as time has gone on. Thanks for the reply.

Is there really no way to preview what a gun paint scheme look like before buying it?

Hell, even after buying it you have to run out of the Hackerspace just to pull it out and look at it?

That's dumb

Even if you count GTAV I think I might fall on the side of W_D2 being the strongest open world outright. I like the map layout more, it feels like there are more interiors, and the pedestrians are so reactive and hilarious.

I'm still finding new things. Twice in 60 hours I've seen someone get their phone stolen (you can chase them down and do that great sliding melee KO), but today, while just standing there going through the cell phone, this happened:

I've pretty much been disappointed by every Ubisoft game I've ever played. I enjoyed the first WD for about the first 4-5 hours and then got bored out of my mind. Is this that much of an improvement that it warrants a buy?

The attention to detail when it comes to npc interactions in Ubisofy games is unmatched imho. They always do things that other devs avoid entirely. Like moving around a space, interaction with multiple objects holding hands, lots of npcs doing something at once, etc. they inject so many that it's astounding. Great dancing gif btw.
