For some reason everyone is so critical about everything that comes out on PS4/X1. I think people delude them self's in to getting NVidia Titan level graphics. I for one am happy not to go back to X360/PS3 everything played looks so much better on the PS4.
But maybe I'm easily pleased

Watch_Dogs was one of the reason I bought the PS4 on launch day, just to enjoy the game in the graphics they demonstrated earlier.

Like what? I mean the evidence is there for anyone there to see. It's up to each invidual to make whatever conclusions they want to make. I guess Ubisoft could say it will look better when the game launches in two months but why would they lie? I don't think that would make things better.

I agree. Far Cry 3 was still a good looking game, but this is just complete and total PS2/OG Xbox level shit. Honestly, GTAV looks better, which is ironic because they delayed the game because of GTA to make sure it was up to it's level and to improve it. Sure, they might have a stable build now, but they took a big fat patented Ubisoft French Canadian shit all over it.

Sorry for the rant, but I was seriously looking forward to this game when it was supposed to launch in November. I was going to get it day one but if the next gen builds TRUELY look that terrible in person and no over YouTube gifs, then I'll wait till its $25 in a few years.

It'll look a lot closer. Then run a lot slower than similar-looking games because of Ubi's optimisation. A few patches will rectify this, but it'll still need a higher spec than it should need.
Dude, that lighting is gone. It won't look like that on the highest of settings.

They said they delayed it to add extra features into the game I can't see them parring the graphics back that much. Gotta be PS3/360 footage and just some random ass glitch.

Ok, maybe a tad bit of hyperbolae. I was in my mind thinking of the driving part in the OP. Also, we don't know if what images are gameplay or cut scenes from some parts of the trailer so the gif you posted could not be actual gameplay.

If I'd work in Ubi PR I'd release something right about now. Something which explains the game, shows some visuals, tells us some kind of story about the things happening in WD. Show the goddamn game, not some halfassed cuts. Sell us the game, tell us why it is a good buy.

If anyone thinks that original pretty version of Watch_Dogs will look like this downgraded crap on Xbone/PS4, he ether has serious problems, or he purposefully wants to create a fake controversy.
edit - PC/nextgen version has HQ Corn Building on the right after bridge, oldgen version has some low-poly generic building.

The first reveal trailer was the only one that managed to impress me. The rest? Not so much.

You're missing the point. This thread is in its core not about how bad the game looks. It's about a marketing lie because the reveal trailer anno 2012 looks way better than the actual footage.
There's at least not one single reason to downgrade the PC version.
Yes, the reveal trailer ran on a i7/GTX680 (which is funny, because it's my config) but we're a generation further. GTX780 TI is here and GTX880 is coming. The game should really look like the reveal footage maxed out on PC. Everything else would be a huge and totally unnecessary shame. There's always the option to reduce the graphics in a PC game.
Ubisoft, give us a choice!
Exactly. Everyone is so focused on the graphics, that no one seems to notice that they have yet to show any compelling gameplay or story.

Really? I would say an upgraded port of GTA5 will look at least as good as what you posted...Really, saying it looks like a generation above what was quite possibly the best looking open world game of last gen is pushing it...

Did you see the early footage of last years 'Aliens' game compared to what was actually released on PC? It was hilarious. Also included entire levels, sequences, and AI not actually in the game. They even showed similar footage (amazing graphics) just before release, marked "Actual gameplay" on screen, for the Wii U version. I mean, seriously.
