That I do know. You have to advance far enough in the campaign missions to go through the multiplayer tutorial (it's early in Act 1). You will face a scripted NPC fixer meant to simulate another player. After that is done you can go to the online contracts menu within your phone, and there is a separate hub / Playlist for freeroam.
Not sure if you can do it prior to the online tutorial mission in the campaign, as I didn't try before I got past that point in the story.

Thanks - I just completed that mission and got hacked by a player shortly afterwards. Will jump into free roam and explore the environs a bit.
And random, but this is another game without a digital code for sale on Amazon's PS4 store. That store started with some decent sales but its sucked since shortly after launch. No real discounts, and some interesting games missing entirely. Was hoping to pick up a digital code and give it to a buddy.

According to Playstationtrophies.org redeeming rewards from uplay is the cause of the problem.
Thing is GTA 5 and Sleeping Dogs spoiled alot of people. Ubi pretty much created their own GTA so business wise they created another cash cow

Aside from melee combat I don't see how Sleeping Dogs spoiled people. Aside from melee combat the game didn't do anything particularly great. I suppose the story was better than most open world games though.

That lack/very poor AF though... kinda ruins it for me. Such a detriment to the overall IQ which is a bit of a shame.
Realistic for now. Gets me to be very creative when doing stealth stuff.

Wait. I bought it and got _nothing_. No costumes, guns, nada (I know that the other campaign etc stuff isn't ready yet).
one thing i havent seen much through talk is it better to go digital or get the disc for the ps4. my ps4 isnt loud by all means but lately i think i am just to lazy to bother going to goto gamestop and give them my money and if its a game were it has some legs and i can go back to since my regular life is all over the place since i have a new little one welcomed to my family. any input is much appreciated.

Yeah I hope the servers and uplay itself stabilize before too long so as to ensure the community at large doesn't just outright stop trying to play multi. When it's working (and you can find and get into a match) it is so much fun.

Iv'e had some really great dynamic experiences so far. Some really REALLY impressive shootouts (like the gang war street fight in GTA5 only more... realistic? Harsh?) and some hilariously great online experiences.
Me and a buddy of mine from work were drinking back and playing the game and all of a sudden i get an online invite from ... my buddy who is right next to me. I look at him and hes on his phone on the ctOS app with a smirk on his face..."cmon dude lets try this out at least once!" We played cops and robbers for 2 hours.
Pretty impressive so far for a game i had lost a lot of hype on. Night time/rain scenes still look ridiculously good and one I get the (somewhat obscure) controls down this should be a good time.
BUT -
Does anyone else feel like this is the most gamiest game game they've ever played? after that initial mission and the following campaign markers all of the "side mission" content stuff feels like concentrated Ubisoft filler shit. I just got done 100% my single player AC4 game and zooming out on this map with all the little nicks and nacks to gather and collect makes me ill...

They're the eyeball icons on your map. They get unlocked really early on

I have yet to catch an invader. I did chase a couple away and one guy got booted by the game for opening fire on me. Apparently you aren't allowed to shoot even after the fixer finds you. lol
So far I haven't found the mechanic to be too intrusive either. Hopefully I get better at finding those filthy hacking bastards!

Yea it was cool when the game was a cyberpunk tech noir game set at night but the look doesn't work so well during the day. Guess things started to clash when the game was delayed to be more GTA and less the unique open world tech thriller it was pitched as.

You can only turn it to 'minimal' in the controller options, but either way it should not affect the mouse.

God this game is so fucking cool. I feel like Batman when I drive around in my muscle car, get a pop-up about a possible crime, make a U-turn and drive fullspeed to the crime scene.
Preventing a crime is super satisfying, even though the NPC reactions are often somewhat silly and break the immersion a bit.
Also - what the hell at that huge Bean thing, that looks amazing with the flowing colors inside!

I remember at one point I had pre-ordered this game when first available to do so for PS4. After hearing about the delay, I canceled the pre-order. After seeing images, videos/webm's of the game now released, I am very happy I did not support this game. I just cannot reward Ubisoft for the many oversights that I see and just things they plainly did not want to add to the game to make it more realistic. I'll wait until this goes to Greatest Hits maybe.

It works really well, even has a custom control scheme made by Ubi. The lag is barely noticeable and doesn't effect the gameplay for me. But I'm not really good at shooting with the Vita sticks.
