What albums do you consider "perfect"?

Im curious to see what people define a perfect album. It's weird seeing all the kid a and ok computer in this thread cos as much as i love those albums I definitely dont listen to alot of the songs on each of them. I doubt people listen to fitter happier or treefingers in their cars on full blast.
Treefingers is THE SHIT. I love that song.

There's nothing musically wrong with Fitter Happier, but I skip it sometimes because it's simply quite depressing.

The White Stripes - Get Behind me Satan

Blues/folk rock, something I can't say am I a real big fan of but this fucking album - every song I love and listen to fully.

Now if you're looking to get into the White Stripes, id start with their last album, "Icky Thump" just because it fits the rock tune so much (usually what people are looking for.) A lot of people just discover Seven Nation Army and go directly to Elephant which is another fucking awesome album and it's totally fine

There are a lot that I'm too lazy to list right now, but I listened to Daft Punk's Discovery front to back for the first time last night (I know, that's crazy) and I honestly think it's perfect. What a great album.

I've never understood the hoopla around Daft Punk, which is sort silly to say since I hadn't even heard of all their music, but I sort of get it now. I guess the time was just right, out running last night at like 11 PM with Discovery on my headphones, but the album really hit me hard. Flawless from front to back.

Makes me sad that I'm realizing all of this when they seem to be on hiatus. Hope they come out with another studio album in the near future.

Brother, you heard when I preach Scuba, now I have another sermon.

Daft Punk's Alive 2007. Give Discovery a few more spins to get really comfortable with it, then jump to Alive. It their best work. Its NOT just the songs played live, they change them and remix them and splice them together. AMAZING music and vibe. Best live album ever.

Edit: We keep hearing rumors about an album soon, and we know they've been in the studio for awhile. So an album in 2013 seems like a decent bet.

Edit2: Homework, their debut, is amazing too. Not outdated or anything. Human After All is solid, but those songs really really really shine live in Alive 2007.

Oh man, that sounds great. Going to order it from Amazon right now. Thanks man!

Glad to hear they're in the studio. Their music has such a great a vibe. And it's neat how secretive they are and how far apart their records are. I'm guessing that a new DP album is always a pretty big event for fans.

I could listen to this album for the rest of time and never get tired of it:

Another music thread swamped with useless pictures with hardly anyone explaining what they like in an album. Par for the course.

The time you guys spend on finding and linking those pictures is better used for writing a sentence or two with, oh you know, the special qualities of these albums. Music criticism is not a matter of posting pictures, FYI.

Well alright then...

I would consider 24 Hour Revenge Therapy to be perfect. All the songs are great and it's sequenced amazingly. A great beginning and a perfect end. And it has excellent album art. That is what makes an album to me.

First album that came to mind that I can listen to from start to finish every time is Antichrist Superstar.

Some albums that I did not see in this thread:

Dire Straits - Making Movies, perfect except for the last song (Les Boys). I didn't care for Dire Straits when they came out with Brother in Arms

Supertramp - Breakfast in America

Black Crowes - The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes

The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. There were multiple references to Disintegration but personally, I thought this breakthrough album of theirs was the better one.

10,000 Maniacs - MTV Unplugged

Also agree with other people picking: Exile on Main St, Thick As a Brick, Wish You Were Here, Rumours, etc.

Wow, what a nostalgia hit. I wanted this box set SO MUCH back then. It's probably impossible to find now.

A couple of mines:

I couldn't decide which one of SAC OSTs I love the most, so here's the complete box set (just like the Bebop one).

When I listen to these, It's from the beginning to the end.

Listened to Discovery again tonight. Yep, definitely perfect. I know I'm treading old ground here, but holy hell, it's great. Feels like the soundtrack to a massive party...on a spaceship.

Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana - Shiina Ringo
I love this album so fucking much. 44 minutes and 44 seconds of musical perfection.

Oh man, I was just talking to my friend about how good "Stunt" by the Barenaked Ladies was, and thought of this thread. I'd consider that album pretty much perfect.

I didn't like Human After All but holy shit they used it in Alive 2007 to an amazing extent. Alive redeemed the album. I definitely agree Alive 07 was their best work.
