I started playing the electric guitar about a month ago. I started by teaching myself, and I''m gonna get a teacher soon. So far, by my own self teaching, I can play...

Interpol- Say Hello to the Angels, Untitled, Narc, Specialist [intro], Obstacle 2 [bassline]
Pixies- Gigantic, Here Comes Your Man [main riff], I Bleed [bassline], Hey [Intro]
Breeders- Cannonball
Velvet Revolver- Set Me Free [main riff, bassline]
Strokes- Take it Or Leave It [main riff], What Ever Happened? [Solo], Hard to Explain, 12:51, Reptilia [main riff]
Nirvana- Come As You Are
The Cure- Boys Don't Cry
Guns N' Roses- Sweet Child O'Mine [main riff]
PJ Harey- This Mess We're In, No Child Of Mine
Neutral Milk Hotel- In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Sonic Youth- Pattern Recognition [main riff... in standard tuning], Youth Against Fascism [Bassline], 100% [bassline]
Daft Punk- Da Funk [main riff]
Modest Mouse- Dance Hall [solo]
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Maps, Bang, Art Star
Radiohead- Reckoner, Myxamatosis [main bassline]
AFI- Leaving Song Pt. 2 [bridge]
Dead Boys- Sonic Reducer [main riff]
Le Tigre- Deceptacon
La Bamba :p

and some others I can't remember. Could you recommend some songs to learn? Also, would you say I'm doing well so far?

Hmm, almost all Nirvana songs :) (first song I figured out myself was Come As You Are)
Bush - Glycerine
Shoot, I'm having trouble thinking. Most punk songs are easy, three or four chords.

Where Is My Mind by the Pixies is pretty easy. What I Got by Sublime. You already have come as you are. That's like the first song everybody learns :)

Heh.

That's an impressive amount of songs you can play after only one month, i've been playing for a few months now and I don't remember that many. But i've been mainly just improving my skills and stuff before i start to learn too many songs, it'll make learning heaps of songs at once really easy as i keep getting better. And yeah, it's good to teach yourself how to play, that's what i'm doing as well. I like to play some Third Eye Blind songs, some of them are easy and sound good. Nirvana too, Smells Like Teen Spirit is the second song I ever learned (Hey Ya! was the first =p), and it's really simple. Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes is also a REALLY easy song that sounds good.

I know how to play the NBC song. You know, when they do the call letters or whatever and it's like "bong bing bong"... took all of two minutes to learn!

That's all I know, and I haven't touched the guitar I own in probably fifteen years.

I do own the guitar music book for the second Spice Girls album, though...

You have the tab for Spice World? Crazy. I didn't even know they made one. Uhh, I have the music books for ABBA's Greatest Hits. I don't know how to read music though.
