I will be christening my DVD burner in the next few days...

What brands should I go for? What should I avoid?

Or will cheap, no-name discs work?

I've used Maxells, 'cause they were the first brand I tried, and I've had nothing but success with them. Of course, the Ritek discs are almost universally praised, so I doubt you can go wrong with them...

yeah, whatever's on sale at fry's. although i tend to avoid the dodgy looking no-brand ones. they probably work just as well, but hey: i'm a corporate whore. after i'm done with a spindle i cut the logos out of the packaging and sew them to various parts of my body.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

Dude, what you should be doing is sticking them on your car to pretend like you have assorted after-market add-ons installed from brands nobody's heard of. Personally, I've stuck with Ritek discs. It's not like they cost much more and they work great in a ton of players...
