What could Microsoft show at E3 to finally get you to buy an Xbox One?

I dont know. A megaton on the scale of something like PS4 just had with Project Beast then maybe. Then id have to get over the mental roadblock of paying for live as well...Honestly nothing MS has in their stable has really done it for me to justify me buying the one.

Halo became a drag after 3. Gears was meh to me. Fable was crap IMO. Not a big racing fan. I never finished Crackdown. This is coming from a 360 only owner hah

So you didn't like any of the Xbox 360 exclusive and yet you kept 360 only the entire last generation. Am I reading this right?

$299 price with Kinect included
A new revision/console version with more power (XB1.5)
Original DRM policy added again

None of that is going to happen, wont bother getting an XB1 in the near future. I despise all Microsoft exclusives (I hate Halo, Sunset Overdrive looks crap, no interest in any of their announced stuff or old exclusives they could bring back) so there's no way they could ever get me to buy a console with games only.

Please.

Nothing.

It's like someone telling you "hey, I wanted to rape your sister and kill your family but now I don't want anymore, let's become friends."

Not going to happen.

what are you 12 ? what kind of fucked up analogy is that ?

Nothing really,I don't want to own more than one console anymore and I prefer Playstation's exclusives.

A price drop, good gameplay of Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive, new Conker, and if they really wanted to get me, a sequel to Impossible Creatures. At the moment I can't see myself getting an Xbox, because I have my PS4 and PC. I'm more than covered for multiplatforms, and Sony's exclusives appeal to me much more than MS's current offerings.

Like other people in this thread,a non-Kinect SKU and Im in.

Kinect is the only reason Im not purchasing an Xbox One and probably never will as long as its not dropped from the system.

Release the white model without Kinect and get the price down to £250-300 including a year of Xbox Live would make me at least consider it. Forza Horizon 2 would also go a long way to encouraging me to get one.

However I would also have to have confidence in Microsofts future long term commitment to exclusives (especially new IPs), and although Spencer is saying all the right things, the last couple of years of the 360 do leave me a bit wary.

So you didn't like any of the Xbox 360 exclusive and yet you kept 360 only the entire last generation. Am I reading this right?

Damn skippy. I played mostly multiplats. Dont get me wrong I bought and played the Gears 3, Halo 4 and Fable 2s but none of them really stuck with me.

The games that actually did pull me in were multiplats. Fallout, GTA, Bioshock. I never bought a PS3 because a close friend had one.

As a collector of consoles I will buy one anyway, given a few years and a price drop. But I see nothing they can do that will make me buy one to actually play games on. As others have said, they lost my trust last year, and the exclusives they could bring to the table (Halo, Gears etc) hold little interest for me.

Something epic like E3 2006:
-Bioshock
-Mass Effect
-Gears of War
-Huge Japanese moneyh... support

But we know no big 3rd party game will ever be exclusive/timed exclusive to Xbox from now on(PS4 is the biggest market, no one can ignore), Black Tusk just started development on Gears 4 a few months ago so it's years away and exclusive Japanese support... well we can forget that one.

Hope to see a variety of genres.

Until Microsoft has me confident that they'll be around this gen in general, then I may consider halo or gears. As of now they may kick the foundations out from under this thing if they keep going the way they are going. Its like asking me what game would make me play my Dreamcast again.

Nothing really.

I have a ps4.

Ps4 will get a majority of the AAA games.

Ps4 seems to be getting the lions share of the Indies.

I vastly prefer Sony first party to ms's.

Ps4 will probably get the quirky Japanese games. Hopefully ni no kuni 2.

Its 100 bucks less.

I have a gaming PC.

I really did not find titanfall interesting.

Those are my reasons. Nothing personal against the system. Just seems like ps4 is covering all my bases. A few years down the line? Probably.

Edit: I suppose if they announced chronic trigger 2 of ff7 remake, I would have to reevaluate things.
This, excluding the last line. Add a Halo and Gears HD Collection or 360 great BC and a 200€ pricecut (dropping Kinect) as that would make me jump.

You know I don't have anything against Microsoft or the Xbox brand, but there's literally nothing they could do to get me to buy one.

I almost bought a 360 years ago when pacman championship edition came out but even then I knew there would be no other games that interested me

The kind of games I like don't usually show up on Microsofts consoles and what does show up I'm not a fan of.

Pls not that bullshit again... Nothing against your opinion m8 but get your facts straight. PS4 had more game releases than xbone in April and March and has overall more games available than the xbone.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I may be, I'm not perfect...but as far as exclusive retail releases go.

Ps4:

Infamous: Second Son
Killzone Shadow Fall
Knack

Xbox One:

Titanfall
Dead Rising 3
Ryse
Forza 5
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare
Kinect Sports Rivals

These are those "Too much TV" guys everyone doesn't like...they have more games still.

There's nothing much Microsoft or Sony can do to sway me this time, not for a few years at least.

Self-publishing for indie games means they'll almost all be on PC (or Wii U, 3DS, or Vita), so that kills off my biggest reason.

I have a gaming PC, handhelds, ps4 and Wii u. So what an Xbox one can offer me at this point is very little

I'd have to say a drastic price drop, provide more value to XBL, and a plethora of interesting exclusives beyond their usual Forza, halo, gears, fable series.

they need 2 or 3 big exclusives. and I really mean big.

Titan fall is a new game. while its an awesome game, with a lot of marketing, it still a very high caliber game. at least not to others " to me it was anyway since I bought xbox one for titan fall and KI.

with that being said, if they can secure a 3 big exclusive games. I think they will win the hardcore fans. that and a good price cut. like a 400$ system with Kinect. " please do NOT sell the system without Kinect. PLEASE. the whole xbox experience will be worthless compared to the PS4 if you sell the system without Kinect. as its the one thing that makes the system uniqie.

with that being said. I want exclusives like
- Resident Evil 7
- a Main Final fantasy game " not gonna happen but I love to dream"
- Titan Fall 2 " my fav online FPS "
- Exclusive Fighting game from Namco or Sega. SC, Tekken or VF
- Big exclusive from Platinum games.
- Mass effect 4 on Xbox one only ?

I am not really sure where to start. MS has lots of chances to win the gamers with exclusives. the problem is, I doubt MS will pay a lot of money on the Xbox brand name now since the whole Xbox one division is like in red and many investors want it dead anyway. I sometimes I cant tell which is worse shape, Xbox division or Sony as a whole " not including the playstation brand"

I already have one, but here's what would prevent me from buying a PS4 and focusing on my Xbone instead: Crackdown. Fucking. 3.

Give the developer plenty of time. Make it huge. It would consume my life.

what ? you bought a system based on a game that might never be announced ? what the lol.

is crack down even the type of the game that people should expect a sequel to ? I mean its not Halo or Fable lol.

Ok, I'm gonna try and show you the path: games don't have to be sold in retail to count as games. Your previuos post stated that the Xbox One has more games than the PS4. You define "games" as being sold in retail only. This is clearly wrong. Please get your facts straigt.

with the exception of the WiiU, I'm on boat with gketter over here.

Looks like Phill Spencer likes Crackdown, and there was a Crackdown Orb shown during the initial Xbox One reveal.

Crackdown is Microsoft's Infamous so to say, their exclusive free-roam IP. Why wouldn't you expect a sequel for it?

As mainly a PC gamer, I found both the 360 and Xbox One largely redundant. In fact, I didn't even touch the 360 after 2009 and ended up selling it.

Their big IPs mainly focus on shooters which I would prefer to play on M/KB anyways. It is also very difficult to compete with the wealth of shooters available on PC, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Planetside, DayZ, UT, Battlefield, etc, etc.

Most consoles do end up collecting dust. I prefer to play multiplatform games at high resolution/frame rate and compelling exclusives are few and far between. But the PlayStation platform makes a lot more sense when coupled with a PC. Will probably pick one up sometime in 2015.

Only if Chris Seavor is doing it. Even then, they'd need Kirkhope and other key Rare staff that left a long while ago. Not gonna happen

Crackdown and Rock band 4 with ability to transfer your songs from 360 with full 360 instrument support (USB dongle perhaps?).

Oh, this won't help.

There are lots and lots of people like yu out there, professing the "Microsoft has just shooters" mantra all around.

Forza is not a shooting game.
Fable is not a shooting game.
Quantum Break is not a shooting game.

And so on, yet they are invisible to people like you.

Same for the Xbox 360 era, eh! Very same attitude.

MS could make RPGs exclusively for the next 10 years and some people would still manage to exclaim shooter box over and over.

Ntkrnl said a Crackdown was being developed. And being done by David Jones' new company.

Umm, what now? When did he say this? His studio's bio doesn't exactly align with Crackdown:

nWay is a developer and publisher of free-to-play online multiplayer games based in San Francisco, California. We were founded in 2011 by gaming and startup veterans, who want to bring fun console-quality multiplayer games to the web and mobile platforms. We’re still an early-stage startup and have plenty of awesome games in our development pipeline so stay tuned. There’s so much more to come!

If any studio's doing it, it's Ruffian. A lot of the core Crackdown 1 team is still there.

A new Jet Force Gemini game would be pretty damn cool.

Don't even tease me, I literally hooked up my N64 to replay and attempt to beat that a few weeks ago.

I won't buy an X1 ATM unless they can prove that they will make exclusives that are not FPS/racing/sports/open world GTA clones, but a jet force Gemini sequel/remake would have me heavily consider it
