What dev would *you* kickstart?

Some of these suggestions are pipe dreams including some of mine. Kickstarter probably wouldn't work for a developer with close ties to a company putting pressure on them to make a bigger and better sequel year after year. Do you think Konami would even allow fellow employees like Kojima or Iga to go "indie" on their own projects without repercussions? I am not even talking about ZOE 3 or Castlevania. I mean some of their original ideas that haven't been greenlit by Konami. For developers like Grasshopper, Treasure, Platinum, and WayForward though they have no ties to big name publishers so there would be a greater chance for those guys taking the Kickstarter route.

SNKP and Treasure. With a side or Arkedo for good measure! Wouldn't mind kickstarting Yukes either, if it'd lead to a modern-day Evil Zone, rather than more and more wrestling games...

I'd say Wayforward, but they ALWAYS seem to have something going lately, so not sure if they need it! ;) And someone tell Golgoth studios to actually release Toki HD and Joe & Mac HD, so we can Kickstart them into other projects! (hopefully with enough funding to not take forever and a day to release something!)

Man, what if a kickstarter raised $10M for a Shenmue 3? Seems entirely possible with internet moneys.

Then what excuse would Sega have left?

Edit: Just to put a number behind it, I'd probably be willing to back Shenmue 3 for $5,000 or so.

Double Edit: Woah, like 13 shenmue 3 mentions already. Someone at Sega shoudl go put up a page.

I am going to kick start Tim's game based on the adventures I loved in the 90s. At some point I would become saturated with kick starts but in a bubble of no other projects I would support.

id (the old crew doing something smaller)
Spike - wrestling game only
Chris Avellone
Josh Sawyer
Obsidian as a whole studio - they have done so much good within the confines of a publisher relationship that I could see them making something amazing without as many demands

Reinvigorate and combine the old spirits of Nintendo R&D1 and R&D3.
Genyo Takeda + Team Shikamaru members + Takashi Tezuka (for good measure).

I'd kickstart Valve just to show us a few screens from Half Life 3. Seriously Valve, why do you put us through this? Why?

Brian Moriarty: I'd love to see the Loom sequels that were planned
Chris Sawyer: Transport Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon are such classics
Corey and Lori Ann Cole: More Quest for Glory in the old adventure style please!

Toys for Bob doing a proper Star Control game. TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY!

You should check out S.P.A.Z., it's not exactly Star Control 2, but it's awesome in its own right and well worth your time!

I would immediately contribute to a Level-5 USA Kickstarter, especially if they were trying to localize Guild 01. Really any game they were localizing, I'd probably jump on.

Also I would pay XSEED to not change their mind about bringing Grand Knights History to the US.

Legend of Dragoon 2

I have $1000 saved up

For PS4 + iPad 3.... so.... come on Sony take all my monies

I would kickstart a Falcom game so hard.

Capcom - Megaman Legend 3
EA - Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital
Konami - Localization of Tokimeki
Sega - Localization of the rest of Sakura Taisen
Collaboration of SquareEnix & Monolith - Xenogears with complete 2nd disc.

I would throw money at any studio willing to make a proper sequel to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

Cyan Worlds. I'd love to see those guys return to greatness and making incredible game worlds, instead of the sad husk they've become.

I'm being simple here, but I want Million and Treasure to go for this immediately with new shooter and beat 'em up games proposed. Even Platinum could jump in on this shit.
My choices from the other thread. I don't want existing series so much as new experiences in the same vein of classic Japanese action/arcade gaming from the late 80s to mid-90s.

I think most of my dream sequels have been mentioned: New Panzer Dragoon shooter/PD Saga 2, new Jet Set Radio.

I'd kickstart Game Arts for a new, real Grandia game (or a Grandia remake) and/or an appropriate LUNAR sequel. No Dragon Song bullshit.

And I'd seriously throw cash at Sega for compilations - an Xbox Greats HD collection, with Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, GUNVALKYRIE... Or toss some bones Camelot's way for a Shining Force III collection, I don't care if they remake it for consoles or port it to 3DS/PSP/Vita.

Oh! Oh! And I wanna give iNiS LOTS of money for Gitaroo Man 2 and a new Ouendan. I want both 'cause I'm real greedy like that.

And From can take my money for a new OTOGI, plus OTOGI HD collection.
