isn't there a division at Nintendo that has designed and is designing hardware and has worked / is working with partner companies (SGI, ArtX, IBM, Matsushita, ATI, etc) ?

is it the same division that (with help) designed the GBA, Gamecube, DS, and are working on Revolution and the next GameBoy?

what is this division? if there's more than one, what are they?

Nintendo R&D 1 handles development of hardware, although I think house 2 also does some work, too.

Isn't NTD a subsidary of R&D1?

R&D 1 probably designed the DS.

Nintendo Research & Engineering develops and designs Nintendo handhelds. This division was once part of Nintendo R&D1, but no longer. Satoru Okada is the General Manager of that division, which basically took all the old designers and engineers that worked for Yokoi on GB, and VB.

Nintendo Technology Development (USA) and Nintendo Integrated Research & Development (Japan) handle Nintendo's console technology design.

Nintendo R&E - Looks like Kenichi Sugino is being credited as the or top creator in the Nintendo DS design.
