Finished. Enjoyed it immensely.

Think I'll finish Suikoden 2 next as I'm about halfway through that.

Is it me or did the game seem unfinished? Like at the ending with that one shady guy. He seemed to me to be the real villian and that plot thread is left dangling. Love the game though

As for Suikoden II, I finished that game for the first time a couple of months ago. Ended up loving it. Now I'm prepared to play Eiyuden Chronicles since I played through all of the Suikodens

The Yuna guy? Yeah it felt like that a little bit.

Suikoden 2 is another favourite of mine. I've only played the first two games. Are the rest worth it?

Suikoden 3 was the first Suikoden I ever played. It's still my favorite. 4 I actually liked but it does have its issue. 4 is better I think to play on an emulator with cheats enabled. 5 is fantastic though.

I haven't played Suikoden 1 and 2 until now. I played Suikoden last year and loved it.

The next JRPG franchise I'll be playing all the games next are

Wild Arms (I think there's like 6 total)
Shadow Hearts (I'm including Koudelka)
Breath of Fire (Still need to play BOF, BOF2 and BOF5)

Yeah Yuna was a unresolved plot thread.

Awesome. I'm gonna finish Suikoden 2 and then perhaps move on to the third game. I'm also playing Shadow Hearts and it's very good. Wild Arms is on my list, too. Bought the first game years ago but never actually played it.

My list of JRPGS to play looks like this:
Suikoden series
Lunar - Silver Star Story
Thousand Arms
Threads of Fate
Xenogears

Still have to clear a few from my backlog too. FF6, FF12, and Legend of Dragoon.

I grabbed Watch Dogs Legion for PS5 for 10 dollars. I'm about six hours in and it's definitely a 10 dollar game. The plot and dialogue are so bad that I'm skipping almost everything. I don't know if I'll finish it, but so far it's been a good game to kill time for a few days.
I've played all 3 and I liked that one the least. 1 was good and 2 was excellent.

Let's just say I have all the games I always wanted to play on these Emulators lol

I platinumed Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. I wanted something different. I chose The Long Dark, so that's where I'm at. A true survival game (I'm playing the story mode, currently).

At first it was a bit jarring, because I've gotten used to tutorials being in your face everywhere, but not in The Long Dark! It is very refreshing, though. Discovering pretty much everything (about the world and the UI).

So far I'm really liking it. Time flies with this game. The graphics are charming and they have a style to it. Sound is great. And I think I recognise the voice actor from MGS (in 2 characters I think).

A very good game. The only thing I didn't like about the story was kids getting killed. That mission when you have to recover that little girl's body from the bottom of the river made me feel sick.
Kind of impactful I thought - I fully expected the child to be alive and the mother dead for whatever reason so it sort of surprised me - especially diving into the water and seeing her chained up there.. Brutal.

One of the best final boss themes ever. Underrated. Remember playing that game back in the day. Always wanted to finish the faerie village but never did.

I tried to get into Live a Live, but I just couldn't. I don't think the game is bad at all, just not in the right head space for it. Maybe I started with the wrong character. I started with Pogo and it's really slow. I'm going to go back to it eventually though, I heard too many good things to never finish it.

Moved on to I am Setsuna, never finished it. I stopped halfway months back and moved on to other stuff.

Not played much this week but I've been chilling out with DuckTales remastered a couple of hours. Beat the introductory stage and Amazonas. It's a great remake of a great game. Feels very much like the cartoon.

I started a new playtrough in Fallout New Vegas yesterday, such a fantastic game.

I like F76 to, but its so nice to play these older games, without A TON of things and quest etc etc that throws at you, and the constant poking at mtx. I feel like most newer games is like this, and its so refreshing to play older games.

New Vegas is without competition the best Fallout and one of the best rpgs ever made imo.

Finished Knights contract. Really surprising game. Ultimately, way better and more cool than I expected. Had more depth than I anticipated. A medieval German fairytale hack-and-slack with a minor dash of Ninja gaiden thrown into the mix. Takes a while to get used to. Most people will likely not have the patience to learn to play efficiently and leave it in frustration. It seems like a long glorified "escort mission" even though it really isn't. Both Heinrich and Gretchen work and can be managed as a single unit. If you pull through, you'll get to see how the game really shines. Its also somewhat tough on the first playthrough. Story is neat, but nothing amazing. Witchslayer mode was brutal.

There were some odd choices in it though. Like, certain input actions weren't referenced in the manual nor visible in the in-game moveset list. Same with how to effectively heal yourself in the game which probably would've caused some people frustration since its seems to have been left out of the manual and in-game tutorial(s).

Can only recommend it to people who are openminded.

Are you playing it on PC or console? I was playing it on PS4 for awhile but I was disappointed with it. I had 4 workshops and the money I was making was pathetic.

I'm playing it on console (PS5). I didn't buy any workshops etc. To make money I started by hunting bandits in the begining. When your band increases in size that becomes unprofiatble, so I started attacking trading caravans from whatever kingdom or kingdoms happen to be at war with your kingdom at a given moment. Also do favours to Nobles, they pay well. And after that I started joining my band to big armies from my kingdom going to war. Money has been trickling in ok amounts to sustain my band, but it takes a while because you have to join an army, march with them, lay siege, and then hopefully all goes well in the assault. I also got two castles and associated towns as a consequence from participating in the assaults and basically doing all the hard work. That gives a stable source of income from the towns associated with the castles. Very important: use a good quartermaster, it increases your band size. It's crucial. If you're in campaign mode, your brother in probably the best choice.

Anyway, right now I'm totally absorbed by BG3, and then I will probably play Starfirled later this year, so I don't know when I'll go back to M&B2.

Edit: Oh, and I married the heiress of the Empress and my brother married the Empress herself. Good times. We had a daughter too. Great game:

The 3DS version of DQ8 is amazing too, the QoL additions take it from a good but archaic PS2 RPG to one of the best ever, if you ask me. It's a shame it's stuck on 3DS (same with the DQ7 remake they did). Hopefully one day Square brings them out somewhere else.
A remaster on Switch would be awesome, but it runs really well on the 3DS, even though it doesn't look as good as on the PS2. However, it's a great game on the 3DS. I'm really enjoying it!

Started CoD Vanguard yesterday. Been a while since I played a CoD campaign.

First mission on the train felt a bit rushed. Hope this game picks up later. Remember liking WW2 a lot.

I found a new love in dungeon RPG after having completed Etrian Odyssey 3 a few weeks back (my first in the series).

Now I am playing Undernauts Labyrinth of Yomi and I really enjoy it. Feels quite cheap, but a very well crafted game with interesting systems, great characters builds and evolution and a nice aesthetic, albeit a bit "2nd tier".

I was surprised by Live A Live, I ended up loving it. But yeah just go back to it later if it's not clicking with you right away

Pogo is one of the weaker ones at the beginning especially, but then it picks up. Each episode is so different you basically have 8 different 2-3 hour games.

I've been purposefully stretching it out for over a year. Having them all be separate means you can take long breaks and come back and it's no issue. I'm actually on my last story now, Feudal Japan.

Such an amazing concept to create micro-JRPG anthologies like that. I'd suggest pushing through to finish the episode sometime, and then taking breaks. None of them are very long.

It's harder than I expected. It's not super difficult or anything, but I expected to waltz into battles without prepping and you can't do that.

Just gain a few levels. You get much better abilities really soon that rebalances it. If it seems excessively hard youre probably short 2-3 levels.

.Think I'll finish Suikoden 2 next as I'm about halfway through that.

I believe I am getting close to the end of Suikoden (1) and it’s been around 25 hours so far. I read that Suikoden 2 is a much longer game. I really enjoy Suikoden, but it doesn’t need to be longer. I keep almost pulling the trigger on Suikoden 2. However, if it’s just the first game, but twice the length, what’s the point? I’d rather just replay the first game.

Found out that the Switch port only features one game on the cart and the other two are download codes - glad I figured this out before I bought it. Getting it on Ps4 instead. Probably will pick up Ezio Collection and Odyssey at the same time, but think I want to go through the older games first.

If you have a series s or x you can play the ezio trilogy at 1080/60fps. The 1080p look sharper than other 1080p games too.

I finished RE7 and its DLC recently, and now I'm onto Witcher 3 Next-Gen (PC). Took some time to set up some mods like auto-loot and a few other QoL things, and it's already much better for it. The time saved on not having to loot 0 weight ingredients will undoubtedly stack up somethjng fierce over the course of the game. I've just killed the Griffin, time to move on to a new area.

I grinded away for weeks attacking brigands, doing favors etc just to get enough money for the workshops. I finally decided to join a kingdom and the first thing the king does is he gives me a castle. Immediately an army attacks my castle and I tried defending it with my 80 man army but against an army of around 300 I was slaughtered.

I followed a youtube video and bought all the same workshops in the same cities that the guy had but his workshops were making 3 times as much as mine were. I was wondering if he was playing it on PC, hence my question about what platform you were using.

Started playing Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Really enjoying it so far. Love the setting much more than Wildlands and they've added some really good options like the immersive exploration mode. Also seems to be a shitload of content. Pretty impressed.

I was always a big fan of Verdict Day despite the many haters around launch.
Overall its kinda tough just jumping into these games having not played them for awhile. There some complex stuff going on with kinetic or chemical weapons and such.

I somehow got 1000 gamerscore on a couple of them back when they were new. I remember the S rank achievements being particularly insane.

Nearly finished with FF16. Started amazing, fell apart and lost me partway through, but by the end I am enjoying it again. One final boss to go! Still don’t want this to be the direction for future mainline games, bring back turn based combat.

Are you playing on the "Hardcore" more or whatever it's called? I heard that way is much better and removes the randomized gear.

Planning to play through it with a friend at some point.

I’m still playing it with levelled gear but I think it’s minimal guidance or something… so it doesn’t tell you exactly on the map where things are. They really do have a lot of options to customise the game how you want!

Few missions into Vanguard…. Holy woke… My god, the story is unbearable. Lukcly it’s fun to play and looks real good. But man… come on… they really tick all boxes here…

I played Doom VFR (on a Pico 4 using Virtual Desktop to connect to PC).

The first few levels suck, the minigames suck and the busywork in the hub sucks.

THAT SAID. the last 4 (of 7) levels are sick. It's Doom 2016 in VR form.

You do have to use the console to enable rotation with the right stick, but it's permanent once enabled. It's also not a game I would recommend to anyone with any kind of motion sickness. It's also only a few hours long at best.

Otherwise, I can't recommend this enough. I had more fun playing this than Alyx because, guess what, making a fun game is more important than spending a lot of money and time to ask playtesters how to design your walking simulator.

It’s a weird feeling going from Quake/DOOM II to DOOM Eternal. I finished Eternal, but never played the DLC. Got it on sale and it’s rough getting in the groove of things again.

Playing Remnant II, 3D Dot Game Heroes, and Quake II.

I finished the first Silent Hill game in March of this year and fancied diving back into the series so I've started this. I only played a few hours as a teen, so don't really remember too much about it. I've just got myself a torch and a gun. Happy days...
My favorite of the whole series.
I still remember playing way back when in the dark and a fire truck passing by our house suddenly blasted its horn.

I nearly shit my pants & had a heart attack 😆
