When
Death Stranding originally released in 2019, I platinumed it on the
PS4. And just now, I platinumed the
PS5 port of the
Director's Cut on the
Pro (took about
~200 hours). It's an awe-inspiring game experience with amazing presentation, uniquely addictive gameplay, absolutely stunning graphics, and a story with many unraveling plot twists. Can the gameplay be boring/tedious at times? Sure, but listening to podcasts/music/Youtube while traversing the absolutely-gorgeous landscapes made those situations relaxing and rather enjoyable. Also, the game's ending cutscene is, by far, the most emotional I felt in any game I played (as a full-grown man, I literally had a few tears running down my cheek).
The biggest release of 2025 (the sequel) will be coming out in a few days. So, to say that I'm highly anticipating its release would be a massive understatement. I've been on a complete media blackout (not even having viewed a single screenshot), as I feel that's the best way to initially experience any new game (or movie). I've never been a Metal Gear Series / Kojima fan, but, for some reason, the meticulously-detailed, open-world, sci-fi horror aspects of this series clicked with me.
