My current personal rank. (Havent had time for Sekiro yet but nexr summer hopefully I can).

1. Elden Ring
2. Demon's Souls = Dark Souls
3. Dark Souls 2 SOTFS = Dark Souls 3
4. Armored Core 6
5. Bloodbourne

None of these games are under a 9.5 though realistically.

It is the most linear of them all. Only thing you can do is wack Martha to take on blade dancer early to access Upper Lothric but you are cockblocked from progressing at the library entrance. The bastards even force you to take a detour to the cathedral to grab a stupid doll to enter Irithyll. Even the coolest area (Archdragon Peak) is locked off until you can get to a spot in Irithyll dungeon after a trip to Consumed King's Garden in Upper Lothric.
Yeah you're right actually, that's fair enough. DS1 is the most open non-open world game of all and DS2 at least lets you see most paths through to the end.

I do still like the option of early Dancer for the extra gear it opens up, though. The early DLC placement leading directly into the end game DLC is also an interesting bit of freedom if you're up for the challenge.

I'm surprised that there's still people out there who think Soulsborne games are hard. Try platinuming Trials Fusion, Super Meat Boy or Cuphead, these are hard games. FromSoft games, from Demons Souls to Elden Ring, are grindy at best, but definitely not hard.

Mate, I wouldn't say Bloodborne is easy. It may not be the hardest game ever made, but it's definitely difficult.

Either that or I'm just shit at games.

Thing is in every soulsborne there's at least one way to easily level up. Do that a couple of times and it'll be a cakewalk.

As someone that hated the level design and only beat the first few bosses for years - I get it. But as someone who recently returned to the game and am on the final boss I'm also like how?
I think Sekiro is one of those games that needs to click more than others because of its more centralised gameplay focus and thus less options. It either works for you or it doesn't. If you're a greatshield fan for example, Sekiro probably isn't going to be for you.

I'd agree with this. But I guess that's why I came back to it. The better I got at souls likes and parrying over the years the more I wanted to try the more challenging Sekiro and lies of P. Now, I've beaten lies of P and am almost done with Sekiro. And I like the deflection technique way more. Quite an interesting change.
