1250€ for a 2080ti on launch day.
Sold a 3080 for 1700 tough.

That reminds me .. i did buy a waterblock for it. So it was like 1480€ total. Which value do you want in your poll?

The last graphics card I bought was an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro to play Battlefield 1942. I remember pre-ordering it directly from ATI and I think it was priced around $400.

I would say $500 for an GTX 980.

Witcher 3 looked glorious at the time.

I am saving $450 a month to buy an rtx 5090. So whatever that costs will be my highest.

$1000 AUD on a Sapphire X800 XT Platinum Edition. Not paying this $3K AUD ridiculousness that they want now for top tier GPU.

6900XT, just pushed me over the $500 mark with tax. By far the most I've spent on a GPU.

I paid $800 US for my GTX 1080ti.
That was my last GPU only buy

My current RTX 4070 was in my Lenovo Legion prebuilt. I want to eventually swap out for the RTX 5090 soonish Assuming my Intel 13700F doesn’t explode.

Shit i think ive lost this poll twice by voting before doing the conversion, it would be 1514 converted to usd for a measly 3070ti. Crypto boom was painful, but at least ive sold my old one for almost 700.

I also grabbed the 3080Ti at basically launch, but I did sell a 1080Ti for $700+.

$300+ for a first generation 3dfx Voodoo card in 1997.
A little over $600 accounting for inflation.

$430 for an EVGA GTX 1070 SC, top of the line back in August of 2016, still in my PC today. You guys are out of your minds overpaying for the garbage Nvidia and AMD have been shitting out since the 20 series.

700 UK quid so far for an RTX 2080 super in 2019 that was my only Nvdia GPU to ever go faulty after 2 years, it was in warranty so got a 3060 TI in exchange to replace it, i'm buying a new PC in the autumn, so my record will probably get broken.

2080 Ti at launch for MSRP. I'm still using that at 3440x1440 and don't really see any major reason to upgrade yet. I also just upgraded my old HTC Vive to PSVR2 and it still performs well enough.

It's easily the best GPU that I've ever bought. The price almost feels quaint nowadays considering how long it has lasted.

4090 that cost me about £1900. Was only able to afford it as I had the option to pay it off monthly with no interest. It was a scary amount of money and I would never have been able to afford it as a one off payment.

Edit - Just noticed the voting was in $s so my vote should've been in the $2000+ category. Whoops.

My top highest were

2060 Super $399
GTX 470 $349
RX 580 $199

Everything else was dirt cheap or free I'd never pay more than $499 for a GPU

I managed to find a rx 5700 xt at microcenter for around $340 back in 2020

Unfortunately it burnt out the cpu i had so i trashed the system and sold the card. I ended up buying a gaming laptop with a 2070 (actual 2070, not the slower end version) for around $1100 back in 2021 and I have been using it ever since

$600 for a GTX 980
I was very excited to have an x80 card for the first time.

I pretty much went through every game I had to see what those games were like maxed out.
fun times!

I bought a RTX 4090 at launch and lived to tell the story.
Two Thousand Four Hundred US Dollars !

Worth the money? No.
But it’s still a beast at least.

Geforce RTX 2060 Super FE, 4800sek (~us$450)

Edit:
Willing to spend 6000sek (~us$570) for a new GPU, sadly that would only be enough for a RTX 4060/4060Ti around here.

Bought a pre-built top of the line everything in Spring 2023, 4900 card, it was almost certainly $1400 of the price even with the discounts and rebates. I think they were retailing for $1800 at the time.
