Seeing how the industry is and my intuition is that they want to do everything possible to make the New Dragon Age a winner of the game of the year and damage the industry. And how the reviews are being very aggressive with the public.

Gamers must unite to prevent them from destroying how wonderful the video game hobby is.

It's already the last straw that the Mario and Luigi game is rated poorly.

Let's be united Video gamers.

it’s the sweet babyification of every game made in the west. Sony and MS are both all in with it. You would think at some point that companies would start to back off from taking a giant shoehorn and adding weird social justice talking points to their games in the name of capitalism but I guess were not there yet.

What the fuck are options 2 and 3 even about?
Option 1, I get it.
Option 4, I also get it.
Option 5, utterly misguided but I also get it.
But options 2 and 3...?

Also, a 5/10 for Mario & Luigi is the last straw? Really? Weren't we just complaining that reviewers were paid and giving high scores to anything by big publishers?

Friend...

Geoff Keighley.

It is closely linked to corruption along with its awards and the mafia of sites like IGN. He is a gangster because his program influences game sales and discredits valuable gems. The guy is a thief, but he is a gangster dressed in a suit.

The problem with the industry is that it's an industry - games are now products developed/published by publicly traded companies intended only to drive investor value, with market studies and focus groups determining which gameplay loops and designs to copypaste instead of innovating the medium to minimize risk, both of which also lead to chasing trends and pushing monetization.

All those other options? Subjective, inconsequential background noise.

It probably stems from a combo of things mentioned above, but I'd say companies with oddball business strategies and corporate culture fucking up a company.

- Weird and entitled employees
- Bad bosses
- Wild west office culture (complete with leaked gaming news and company memos, and getting reckless on social media)
- Companies spending time and money rolling the dice on politically driven games which can tank sales and make them a laughing stock. Most businesses avoid doing this, but some game studios seem to gun for it

It would be very interesting if I had first hand experience working at a gaming office. Hey you never know, maybe it's a lot more chill and level headed then we see. But then maybe you got people complaining about knitting and cooking clubs and other trivial stuff every hour making the floor look like childish high schoolers.

But I have to admit, everyone likes seeing a car wreck. Myself included. All you got to do is coast in that nice car and you got no troubles. Nope. Got to be reckless..... crash!

There's no war to be fought here my friend lol. No one is going to give an average RPG GoTY.

It's going to be Astro Bot or Balatro.

Budget Bloat and Game length bloat.

100 million.
200 million.
300 million.

80 Hours.
100 Hours.
150 Hours.

Etc.

They sometimes go hand in hand.
And that's a very video game kind of trait. Bigger the better. The key things they always promote first are graphics and scope. It's not even about fun like a car company's TV ad showing people cruising in the sunset smiling or doing family camping with a rugged SUV. It's more like here's some crazy explosions and textures, and our game is now 20 hours long or 2x bigger than our last game.

In just about everything else in life, there's a reasonable limit for what you get. I dont see book or movie makers promoting "Hey, buy our new book it's now 800 pages, or our new movie sequel is an extra 40 minutes making it 3 hours now"

The executives over at Warner Bros. Games (?

Going all-in on the wokeness plaguing Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad was beyond stupid and the mismanagement of both WB Montreal and Rocksteady over the nine years period that took them to come up with new console games was just criminal. Imagine how totally retarded your decision-making would have to be in order to actually kill all of the momentum that two of the best studios in the world had when coming off masterpieces such as Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight.

The answer I would have put, would have encapsulated most of what is there, because the Poison isn't singular, it is a concoction of variables that are shitting on the industry, including Studios going for the DEI.
DEI is one of the most disingenuous and dangerous practices today. It is plenty divisive and it's use is to pit people between one another, not heal, not mend or "bring us together" It's fake virtue. Plain and simple. Fuck it into the ground.
Edit: Punished Miku Punished Miku I have a lot to play, as well... I am also glad that my backlog comes from a time before this shit was prevalent. Meaning, these are games I will want to get to eventually, not just because they are paid for, but because I am under the notion that they are like the games I played before 2016.

None of the above, the biggest problem is we have a whole generation (maybe two at this point) that grew up where paying for microtransactions constantly is normalized.

And unfortunately it's strewn across media. And media is seen or used by lots of people and you cant always avoid it. So it spreads. If you like watching Marvel shows, you might have no choice but to sit through it and hope it's tolerable in that two hour movie if the rest of the movie is good.

Best hope for customers to cut down on it is see this trash for what it is and avoid it so the company sinks and people lose jobs. If that doesn't set a company straight nothing will. And if any company still guns for it despite the balance sheet going under water it goes to show how political they are. They arent interested in making a good product within budget for customers to buy, enjoy and build the brand. But simply to use corporate resources to fund their personal politics. It's basically the same thing as wasting a company's photocopier on personal stuff. But instead of using up a couple dollars here and there printing out a soccer registration form for their kid, it's all workers at the company printing out 1000s of colour pages each and every day, where the IT guy says all you fuckers are costing the company millions of dollars per year on dumb personal shit. So knock it off and print that stuff at home.

No company should be rewarded with big money for stupidity and politics. But media companies and their employees often seem to love and push it.

I can't comprehend why adult gamers are still complaining about the games awards or other shows alike, it's because Tears of the Kingdom didn't win last year? (Genuine Question).

Sweet Baby might be, Dragon Age is not winning anything, games reviewers screwing up is very old and it seems that Herman has a leash that is pulled by Totoki (about time).

But as someone mentioned above, it might be adult gamers complaining and crying about everything.

All of them, along with some that are not listed, as well as the true final form of ultimate evil has been the monetization and corporate greed of the industry. I expressed my thoughts on the gaming industry and someone said to me that it sounded like I wanted a crash or for the industry to fail. No, I don't want a crash, but I will gladly suffer one if it means there is a chance we go back to how games used to be. If not, so be it. I'd rather see my most beloved form of entertainment put out of its misery instead of shambling on like the zombie it is, a husk of its former self.

Lol thinking this. Actually thinking this and writing this. When Astro Bot and Vii Rebirth is the goty frontrunner. When multiple sites gave Da Veilguard a 7.
Brain meet rot.

  • Woke censorship
  • Gaming flateartherism. Particularly people complaining about the most successful PS Studios head ever (Hermen Hulst), and the most successful console maker CEO ever (Jim Ryan)
  • AA and AAA game budgets getting too expensive (so are becoming too risky for the publishers and investors). Because every generation visuals get more detailed and games get longer and more complex, which means more money and time needed
  • Retarded players boycotting games or devs for small details / non important issues / non-issues

Sweet Baby Inc. and anyone else doing what they do is biggest cancer right now. The other ones are annoying but they aren't actively trying to destroy videogames by forcing the woke into it.

It's people who get too obsessed with CEOs.
I've noticed that nobody ever talks about Andrew House (CEO of SCE from 2011 to 2017) compared to the rest of PS executives of that time, and I'm starting to wonder if it's due to him not using the usual fan-friendly PR speak as Kaz Hirai, Shawn Layden, Jack Tretton, Shuhei Yoshida, etc. You know, when fans start to believe that these executives are their friends.
