I'm kind of in the middle of several at the moment. I took a break from the genre for a few months and decided to come back to it after marathoning platformers (read: Mega Man).
Zero no Kiseki: I put this on hold so I can finish Ni no Kuni and get some stuff in FF5 done. So far, I like Sora no Kiseki: The 3rd better than this one, but now I can definitely see why Xillia 2 got compared to it so much. I'm getting used to the cast, and it's pretty awesome to be able to explore bits and pieces of Crossbell because it's so styled in terms of the 50s, a far cry from Liberl's setting. And again, I enjoy the callbacks and cameos from the Sora games a lot. Completely worth having played them prior to this.
Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers: I just played up to Warehouse District portion. I'd originally played it on the Sega Saturn, and it was such a great game with a great setting and script (and the degree of customization that the game afforded to you was very interesting for me at the time). The attack animations are better in this version, but I wish the sprites looked a little cleaner. Auto-Battle is a nice addition for easier battles and getting through them faster. And I've always liked Soul Hackers' music. You get jazz, ambience, techno, etc. Tons of variance on the soundtrack.
Final Fantasy V: Rolling a Black Mage/Berserker/Beastmaster so far this year, and it's going better than expected. Freelancers help out a lot, and Black Mages are excellent for the beginning of the game.
Ni no Kuni: I was supposed to finish this off last weekend and then my PS3 bricked (with the disc still stuck inside!). Picked it up on Tuesday, and had to redo a ton of stuff from when you got a mode of flight up until the final dungeon. Right now I'm halfway through that, so I'm on pace to get the game done. And I want it done. I don't like it very much, to be honest with you. I felt that way about it when I'd first started playing it back when it released. For now, this game gets priority.
Treasure of the Rudras: This game's always good. And I got a repro cart for this game as a late birthday present recently, so being able to play the excellent English translation on a SNES feels like a complete boon for me.
Additionally, I'm at the end of the first Mega Man Star Force (and have been since... March, maybe?), but for some reason I can't muster up the enthusiasm to finish it off. One day, though, because I want to get to the other ones. It's not too bad, but it's not MMBN.
Still playing FE Awakening to fill dat support log. Other than that I'm about to start this game. With any luck it will be good. It's my first game in this series so we'll see.
Ah, good luck. I hope you like it. I've stopped recommending it as a starter game for the series because the second one improves on every aspect so much (ie: many people tell me that they don't really enjoy it). But with that said, it's the only one that is readily available in English, and it's a great game in its own right.
