I'm in Australia, so naturally there's Kangaroos, Koalas, and Snakes around.

I've had snakes in my property, but I'd have to walk 5-10mins or so to see Kangas and Koalas, they're not always easy to find as I'm in suburbia but they can turn up in the parks from time to time.

Also got a few Brushturkeys that roam the streets.

I'm in Australia,

no other local wildlife can compete with that, mate.

here in Indian cities, we have pigeons up every orifice.

And rats.

And lizards.

And mosquitos, So. Fucking. Many. Mosquitos.

But if you have a lot of trees in your neighborhood, you get to see the occasional hummingbird, parrot, hawk or raven, and cute little butterflies, which is cool.

around my place, I've seen skunks, racoons, opossums. there are also peacocks roaming in a near by suburban area too but I'm pretty sure they're just free roaming birds from the near by arboretum/botanic garden.

Shit ton of bird species as live no too far from an estury and a lake.
Deer
Foxes
Squrrels
Rabbits
Hedgehogs

and of course:

Wiltshire boy, here.

Red Fox
Badger
Deer
Hedgehog

Too many bird species to list, but my favourite is this beauty, the Red Kite.

I have Deer and Turkey that walk across my yard. Hawks and Vultures, a Coyote stole one of my chickens. Squirrels, Chipmunks, and Armadillos, Possum.

I don't see much, the odd badger or deer (roe and muntjac) Pop to see friends in a nearby city and saw an urban fox brazenly out in daytime not giving a fuck.

Had a skunk on my front porch the other day digging into a box of mealworms that were just delivered for my chickens. Made the whole thing smell and I had to toss it out. My trail cams usually pick up deer, possums, raccoons, coyotes, skunks and feral cats. And occasional black bear.

I live in the north of England, so not much outside birds really for wildlife, mostly domestic animals Cats and Dogs and nothing nasty that wants to eat you lol.

Kites.

There's literally 14 of them circling above outside my window right now.

Couple of shots I took a while back:

Excuse the quality, need to get a new camera (my research/buying process is long and drawn out), this old thing is worth like 20 bucks on eBay at this point.

Rabbits, they dig holes all over and it's tiresome.

Also swans, I got attacked by one I effing hate them so much, I put a fence on my shore and seems to be working, so far to prevent them to come over.

We have Roosevelt Elk where I live. This is a pic I took the other day out my back door of a baby one and some moms:

They're massive, but mostly harmless unless you fuck with them. We get a few tourists every year killed by them though, who go charging up to them to take photos with them, thinking they're docile and/or domesticated. The males can get up to 1000lbs, over 6ft tall, have a huge rack of horns, and you definitely don't want to fuck with those guys, especially during mating season / rut.

It's hard to get a picture of one next to a human for size / scale comparison that isn't showing a dead one, which I refuse to do. Here's one I found that's kinda close:

Still a bit of a perspective issue since the guys here are farther away, but yeah they get to be the size of a small car and will 100% kill you if they trample you.

Aren't you(Aus) surrounded by huge crocs and sharks as well though?
That's fair. I could just be assuming the US wildlife is all over the place.

Sharks are really easy to avoid.
I live in the area of the country that has crocs and I've seen one or two in the creeks over the past few years but if you don't swim in those creeks you're pretty safe.
The further north you go in Aus the more crocs there are, but most of the population is in the south.

My wife and I are Florida residents during the winters but back in Indiana through summer months but also own a small cabin near Maggie Valley NC that we stay at weeks at a time and while outside just a couple of weeks ago caught this guy in our back yard

Nothing mega exciting where I live, Wood Pigeon nest in a tree in the back garden, lots of Blackbirds, Robins, Magpies, Crows, the odd WoodPecker, a few squirrels in the trees behind my house, and we get Hedgehogs and rarely a Fox or two. Although, about 2-300 meters behind my house there is a large chimney from a former cotton mill and at the top is a Peregrine Falcon nest which is pretty cool (they are noisy).

Visiting here at home or in nearby parks I find: (the coolest ones)

Parrots (almost every week or so these assholes come to my yard and steal grapes)
Capibaras
Crested Carcaras (these guys look badass, and you can get pretty close to then because they simply don't like to fly)
Toucans
Opossums

Since 2021-2022 we have a bunch of turkeys walking in town like they own this shit. Was on my mountain bike riding in April, and got gangbanged by a male turkey with his wife turkey that probably told him to attack the tires of my bike. He really jumped on me like a velociraptor😱

Alberta here. Near the Rockies.
Elk, Deer, coyotes, wolves, Grizzly/Black bears, mountain sheep / goats, cougars, bobcats, moose. I like to go hiking quite a bit in the mountains. Of that list, I'm only really concerned about the Grizzlies....

In my part of South Australia we are effectively in drought. This results in native animals coming into town looking for water/food. Currently it's Emus:

Variety of lizards from the ones that stick to walls to the big ones living in ponds/rivers/sewers, mozzies, variety of ants, spiders (not like the ones in Australia, small ones), variety of snakes (most non poisonous thankfully, but theres always the risk of a cobra. We had one slither into our house at night, had to call the firefighters to contain it). Monkeys and wild boars too ( we live on hill where there's a small jungle area).

I'm in Toronto, but live near a hydro field filled with coyotes. Heard them howling a couple nights this week and see them wandering around from time to time.

A few years ago a possum with a rare genetic anomaly that made it looks like a Pikachu was found in my suburb:

My mum also lives in the bush so kangaroos, emus, echidnas, wombats, etc wander into her yard all the time:

Hedgehogs
Bats
Pheasants, storks, owls, pigeons, seagulls, ducks, herons and many other birds. The more rare ones that do return to the same area every year are the Eurasian spoonbills. Always seems to attract quite the amount of photographers.
Lobsters
Common bugs/spiders
Rabbits, hares, mice
frogs/toads

All the above is in my direct vicinity and/or neighbourhood. My house borders a forest so it'll take a while to go over everything you can find there if you look hard enough. But the above are the most common animals we could spot in our backyards from time to time.

Essex here, same on my list as your, but I'll add seals.

Love these birds, they are huge!!!

They are massive.

They used to be very rare in this country. When I was a kid I'd never see a red kite as they were on the brink of extinction in the UK. However, after a successful reintroduction program there are now thousands of breeding pairs. I see at least one a day just from walking around my area.

Here you get plenty, Zebra, giraffe, many types of buck, bushpigs and warthogs, plenty of monkeys or baboons, depending on where you are, the closer to Cape Town, you'll see penguins, seals, etc.
The Ocean is full of dolphins, whales, and sharks, which are often seen from the beach or close to land.

many different rodents and critters, too.

then if you go to a game reserve, youll get your hippos and rhinos, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, lions, etc.
