I've got a Gsync monitor so I'm gonna go green. I'd probably go green anyway since RT and DLSS matter to me greatly however.
Really glad AMD are trying to compete this time though. I'm waiting a bit for any new card announcements or price drops from NV before I buy. Which actually makes the CyberPunk Delay work in my favor.
Hoping the 3090 comes down in price. If it does I'll pick that up. Or if they drop 20GB variants of the 3080. Whichever comes first.
EDIT: I'd advise anyone in the market for both red or green to wait for benchmarks and such.
I picked Intel's for now. Maybe add a section waiting for CES 2021. I am waiting for the ti version or some enhanced version of the 3080. If there is none then I would pickup a 3090.
Whatever I can find in late November between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.
Purely CUDA reasons.
If more renderers start using AMD RT Accelerators or whatever....specifically Redshift and Octane again by late November then id actually rather get a 6800XT.
AMD on the gaming front have brought the beef for sure, they have an RTX 3090 competitor for much less dollar?
If the 6800xt benchmarks running at stock speed with an intel cpu are anywhere near what amd announced yesterday I'm going for that. If not the rtx 3070. Am waiting till 2021 though. My 1070 is still getting very respectable results @ 1080p.
Depends heavily on which one I can actually buy but I expect it to be the 6800XT. I am tired of rewarding Nvidia for their bullshit tactics.
If they had any inkling that that the 6X00 series wasn't as good as it was you can bet that the NV 3X00 models would have launched at the fucking crazy 2080TI price range.
Nvidia are scum, I am willing to potentially take less FPS just to show them that I as a consumer am tired of their bullshit. Just like how I was willing to say fuck you to Intel for all the goofy shit they've done thru the ages to shackle AMD.
There's no option for "Whatever one I can get first." I probably would have gone for a 3070 but I couldn't managed to actually buy it when it released yesterday. If I end up buying a 6800 or 6800xt because they're more available then so be it.
