No, you're right. They're getting a good amount of interest in those products. It's just that I see those as a byproduct of having hit it out of the park with Iron man/Avengers. They had some moderate success with Captain America, Thor, and Hulk, but once the Avengers arrived all of those related products got a boost in interest. Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel also benefited from the wave of energy generated by Avengers success. It's fair to feel that way, but it isn't really the case. WandaVision was a huge hit for Marvel & Disney Plus. Hardcore fans and casual viewers alike are also really appreciating the Falcon and Winter Soldier show. Many fans are falling out of their pants to see Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man No Way Home.
I can't rebuttal against your personal feelings at all, but in most ways, MCU is in anything but a lull. I also wouldn't chalk their success up to "luck". Maybe if they had a few successful movies, but not when they are the top grossing movie franchise of all time. That takes more than a little bit of luck in the casting department.
Fact is, interest in Toby Maguire's Spider-man is also a bit of an indictment against the other guys who have had the role of Spider-man. They've all been varying degrees of cringe and that's just too bad. I've especially detested the Avengers Spider-man who is basically Tony Stark's intern/lackey.
