What was Jamie Foxx’s mysterious illness?

I dont think his skin colour changed. It looks like the Instagram video had a giant light shining on his face.

But going by his face, he probably lost 30-40 lbs. You dont lose face fat unless the rest of their body loses weight.

As for people being curious what he has, i think it's fair people want to know. Hell, he's doing an Instagram video telling the world about it, so if he wants attention post mortem, nothing wrong with wanting to know what lead to it.

Celebs cant expect a one way street in life.
Yup
That's all I mean

By posting his video, he's giving us an answer to a question we don't know. That's BIZARRE!!!!

Imagine news breaks:

"Tom Cruise is hospitalized"!!

Three months of, "Tom Cruise still hospitalized!!"

Then, the fourth month Tom releases a video, saying, "Hi guys! Thanks for the support and caring about me. All my bones have healed and my blood has been transfused. I'll be back to being on the big screen soon"

Well!! What the hell happened?!!!
Car crash?
Someone from Scientology push you down steps?
Get hurt doing your own stunt in Mission Impossible 13?
Someone at the Scientology Center beat the shit out of you?

We're GOING TO ASK what happened!!!

the missing eyebrows and side-mustache was throwing me off. Like they were burned off. I didn't know that happened from a stroke.

Still don't know what he had and why the family wont share?
FWIW the ongoing "conspiracy" is that he did this health scare to avoid testifying around Pras and his use of money in manipulating politics. Not sure how true it is, or if I should even give it any mind, but it's something to think about considering even Di Caprio avoided going on the stand.

...Oooffff. Jamie I like you but delete that shit ASAP you fuck.

It's a common saying in the black community... it means "it is your own people who stab you in the back"... That's why he had the hashtags there at the end. Jesus is a Jew... He was betrayed by Judas... The literal "#fakeFriend". "They" is used colloquially for "this unnamed person" ...

That's how I understood it.

Apologies but I wanted to clear that up as it's something I've heard all my life and had it explained to me. I still feel weird when "Christians" call Jesus a "Christian".

So why did "they killed jesus" followed up by "what do you think theyll do to you"?

Shits seriously sus.

It's what I grew up hearing IN THE CONTEXT of what I said ... I can see how it can be read that way BUT in the black community, that's about "it be your own to stab you in the back". Jamie is black, too.

And if you want to get technical with it, the Romans killed Jesus. Not any Jews.

Judas is a single person not a "they" and the bigoted phrase thats been passed around for years isnt "the romans killed jesus".

Jamie is a professional comedian and thus fully knows how to effecfivly communicate. I find it really hard to believe he didnt know how this would be read. Not to mention he never even mentions the black communities history with the Judas narrative or how that would apply to his deleted post. Like I said seriously sus.

And I'm telling you as a black man who grew up in a black community how it is used.

"They" is regularly used to convey a single nameless person. In the south, the east, the west, the north.

And I said "if you want to get technical with it", meaning outside of how it's used colloquially and being anal about "who killed Jesus" because it truly wasn't the Jews.

Yes, I know bigots regularly say stupid shit like "the Jews killed Jesus" but this isn't that.

And why would he mention anything about what black people mean by our common colloquialisms? I understood what he meant. MOST black people do! YOU are bringing a meaning to it that isn't there.

This happens all the time when an out group tries to infer their own meaning into what the in group said. There are colloquialisms used by Asians that I may or may not understand what it means TO THEM. I can ask and get clarity. I don't get to infer my own takes into what THAT person in the in group means by what they said.

I'm trying to bring context into this... If something is commonly used in a way to mean "it be your own that stabs you in your back" AKA #FakeFriends ... Then that's what it means. Nothing else.

You can say "it reads this way to me" but when it's explained what it means to the in group of which Foxx belongs you don't get say "I don't care, what I said is what he means"

Maybe the colloquialism can be reworded... But until that time, the meaning is what I explained it as.

Yes, he's a comedian with a grasp of communication... Maybe it wasn't to YOU he's communicating that to? Even on a public stage, you can say something that only your in group will understand... Regardless if others won't.

I mean NO offense to you or anyone as I'm trying to stay on logic and explain on an even keel.

Couple guys on TMZ explained it like you said yesterday or the day before .. so I get it.

And I'm telling you as a black man who grew up in a black community how it is used.
amongst your peers in that exact phrasing .. are you saying all black communities phrase it that way? Cause your first post seemed more speculative.

-i wasnt talking about his post I was referring to his apology.

what are you really saying here?
That i should never judge black peoples posts just incase they maybe using a colloquial term used by other black people they know? Or... are you saying as a black man you telling me thats what he means makes it a fact because its a common idea spread amongst your peers?

I'm trying to bring context into this... If something is commonly used in a way to mean "it be your own that stabs you in your back" AKA #FakeFriends ... Then that's what it means. Nothing else.
is #fakefriends a common hashtag on blk twitter?
You originaly said "thats how "I" understood it" but now your upgrading it too thats what it means period? Why?

Yes, he's a comedian with a grasp of communication... Maybe it wasn't to YOU he's communicating that to? Even on a public stage, you can say something that only your in group will understand... Regardless if others won't.
yes i understood this point you suggested in your previous post.

Too be clear. Idk what he meant just that if it was just a reference to the common colloquial idea that blk people betray blk people he communicated it poorly in a way thats easily missunderstood.

I can't believe people got offended over this. How do you link this statement to antisemitism?
Its because the phrase "They killed Jesus" is a common antisemetic phrase.

The #fakefriends may be the giveaway that he was talking about judas but if your more familar with the other association it makes sense you would misinterpret what he was saying. I for one wasnt sure but while brain storming after my initial read of the post I thought "maybe the #'s where referring to how Hollywood types are seen to often use black actors as tokens under the guise of allyship.

Jamie has always seemed cool and he doesnt seem to be a hatefull person but at the same time Social media seems to radicalize so many people so easily I wasnt gonna completely dismiss what sounded at first like par for the course now a days.

I have never heard anyone say this, and I live in the South. People just need to stop reading too far into random social media posts.
I have only heard it online and when it was in the news when passion of the christ came out and people got concerned about it digging up old stereotypes. I live in Texas.

It doesnt take a "far" read to think of that. Its Just that being exsposed to different experiences in life leads to different interpretations. What we need to do is get used to that and stop exspecting everyone to be psychic. You dont know what you dont know...you know?

I hate how I have scroll up on my phone to address everything... I'll number it by paragraph.

1. Didn't mean to make it sound speculative. But yes, I've heard that exact praying and variations of it, depending on uses in AAVE or mainstream English.

2. Oh ok! His apology seemed to be damage control. Like he didn't want to be misunderstood but will be more careful in the future how he words things. I'm guessing he didn't want to sound insensitive by trying to explain... Because that's all social media knows how to do: double down on the cancel/hate train.

3. I'm saying it's a common phrase in the black community. You can judge it and him but if you don't know what is meant because you've never heard that phrase before and then have our explained, don't dismiss it out of hand because that.

4. The hashtag, I've seen before. Black Twitter, Asian Twitter, etc. I've seen it on Facebook and IG too. And I can only say "that's how *I* understood it" because that's what I've been around in almost 50 years. It's not a personal interpretation... That's what it means. Again, I didn't mean to make it sound speculative.

5. Oh ok.

6. Yeah, I can see how it can be. Like any colloquialism, it won't be a 100% easily 1:1 translation of what you mean. Judas is the betrayer, the fake friend. His actions lead to Jesus' death. He may not have speared Jesus himself but it was his actions that lead to that.

To be fair, I heard largely the same defense in this video, and I think I've heard it used that way before as well. Because of all that and the hashtags, I believe him when he says it wasn't intended to be about Jewish people.

yes I think its very much likely he didn't.

Yah I hate having to scroll and quote on my phone here in general. shits a pain.

I just want to clarify that i really never believed he did actual meant that since hes never said or done anything even remotely like this in the past. It would have been really werid if he did. There was a moment where I actual thought maybe this has something to do with what he is recovering from or something like that. It just didnt make much sense.

Yeah. His illness, I heard but don't know the truth of it, was Sepsis that he was able to recover from.

I have no idea who he was talking about. Must have hurt if it was someone he felt was a genuine friend.

the mind-numbing thing is that Jennifer Aniston is the one that should look and feel stupid as hell for accusing someone with that level of certainty as if it were fact. Like someone telling a joke and everyone in the crowd erupting into laughter and she not getting it. But Jamie Foxx is the one that has to apologize and now permanently marked for this.

Another reason to never touch twitter.

I dunno what is dumber, saying stupid shit on a platform like this, or taking it serious and accusing somebody of anything based on it.
