What's the best-looking game on Switch?

Metroid Prime Remaster was the first time in years that graphics impressed me in a non-technical way and made a fantasy world really believable. Although I think Xenoblade X might give it a run for it's money even though that's a freaking Wii U game.

I'm hoping the port runs great on Switch because from what I played on Wii U, that's one of the best looking games I played on a Nintendo Console

Uh YeAH, only if it runs at 60fps

It's not the best looking game on Switch, but I found Mario Odyssey quite impressive. It deserves a shout out, especially as an early Switch 2017 game.

The obvious choices though are Metroid Prime and Luigi's Mansion 3. Astral Chain is up there though.

I think Mario Odyssey has very high highs and very low lows, if that makes sense lol

Metroid Prime Remastered is definitely the most impressive Switch game. It is a rare example of a game really optimized and targeting 60fps and a high resolution.

Thankfully, it is not the only game that runs decently on Switch.

Man I can't wait to see how these IPs look on Switch 2. With the graphics output being around PS4 level, I'm excited to see what they can do with that type of power and pairing it with modern hardware? Gonna to look amazing. And I still find PS4 games beautiful to look at
I agree with wanting to see what they can do with ps4 level hardware but calling it modern hardware when the ps4 came out in 2013 just seems wrong. horizon zero dawn zelda and killzone metroid sounds interesting to me, plus ratchet and clank mario.

Dude I'm not talking about graphics when I say modern hardware..

I'm talking about PS4 Graphics paired with Modern Hardware because you know there's more than graphics when it comes to videogame systems?

Like having more than 8 GB of RAM with faster speeds than the ones used in the OG PS4, etc

Yeah if they can improve the IQ compared to Xenoblade 2 and 3, which should be possible since it was originally a WiiU game, Xenoblade X might end up being one of the best looking games on the system.

Galaxy always looked great to me.
Zelda looks nice. Art style helps it look amazing

Switch lite owner here, Xenoblade 2 looks like sub 480p to me. Anyone feels the same or is the game blurry in handheld mode?
XC2 is really rough resolution wise. It is definitely sub 480p, some scenes like the one at the beginning of the game when you move out of the forest into the plain like quasi-open area looks really blurry. Assuming the resolution is dynamic (not statically varied based on location/camera), I hope the Switch 2 can clean up these shortcomings

Yeah, definitely some levels look way more impressive than others. Moon level is pretty bland.

I forgot about this game, it still is really impressive. Fun too, it would be nice if Nintendo collaborated with Shi'nen on a new F-Zero game.
Man, I wish Astral Chain would've clicked with me, but I am just too retarded to control 2 characters at the same time.

I still need to beat it. Cool game, but yeah it gets a little tricky controlling 2 characters.

Shi’nen is one of the most tech talent devs in the industry, they have a few years radio silence, i hope they have a surprise for the Switch 2 launch windows.

I love my Switch as much as the next guy, but I don’t by it for impressive graphics. Art style is what keeps Nintendo popping imo.

Nothing technically amazing on it.

I just browsed this thread just to gauge how far behind Nintendo fandom are from the rest of industry.

Yup about a decade!
Most Nintendo fans are cultured enough to understand that Art direction and design are what truly makes a game beautiful to look at and will almost always stands the test of time compared to pure technical visual effects and polygon counts. (And not saying you can't have both)

This for me. I don't like stuff like that. I'm a traditionalist with action games. I want linear levels, one character, and simple weapons and skills systems.

Metroid Prime Remastered obviously but Yoshi's Crafted World looks amazing too. In motion some of it borders on a photorealistic diorama set.
