Metroid Prime Remaster was the first time in years that graphics impressed me in a non-technical way and made a fantasy world really believable. Although I think Xenoblade X might give it a run for it's money even though that's a freaking Wii U game.

It's def not just you, in handheld mode the avg res is 552p - 432p, but it can go as low as 368p in some cases as per digital foundry. It's one of the titles I wish it will get enhanced for the Switch 2.Switch lite owner here, Xenoblade 2 looks like sub 480p to me. Anyone feels the same or is the game blurry in handheld mode?
I'm holding that back for Switch 2, so don't tempt me lol, I have no hurry to play it since I have to attend other stuff IRL so I hope the console releases by the time I can get into itThere are parts where the DLC looks even better!
I think Mario Odyssey has very high highs and very low lows, if that makes sense lolIt's not the best looking game on Switch, but I found Mario Odyssey quite impressive. It deserves a shout out, especially as an early Switch 2017 game.
The obvious choices though are Metroid Prime and Luigi's Mansion 3. Astral Chain is up there though.
I agree with wanting to see what they can do with ps4 level hardware but calling it modern hardware when the ps4 came out in 2013 just seems wrong. horizon zero dawn zelda and killzone metroid sounds interesting to me, plus ratchet and clank mario.Man I can't wait to see how these IPs look on Switch 2. With the graphics output being around PS4 level, I'm excited to see what they can do with that type of power and pairing it with modern hardware? Gonna to look amazing. And I still find PS4 games beautiful to look at

Yes and I think it should work well on the system natively, maybe they were testing the waters with the tech?Isn't resident evil 7 relying on cloud computing?

no bro the gap is too big, maybe switch 2 in handheld mode is similar to xbox oneSuper Mario Odyssey has a perfect artstyle imo. It also runs at 900p60 on a device half as capable as the Xbox One.
XC2 is really rough resolution wise. It is definitely sub 480p, some scenes like the one at the beginning of the game when you move out of the forest into the plain like quasi-open area looks really blurry. Assuming the resolution is dynamic (not statically varied based on location/camera), I hope the Switch 2 can clean up these shortcomingsSwitch lite owner here, Xenoblade 2 looks like sub 480p to me. Yeah, definitely some levels look way more impressive than others. Moon level is pretty bland.I think Mario Odyssey has very high highs and very low lows, if that makes sense lol
Fast RMX
Man, I wish Astral Chain would've clicked with me, but I am just too retarded to control 2 characters at the same time.
Shi’nen is one of the most tech talent devs in the industry, they have a few years radio silence, i hope they have a surprise for the Switch 2 launch windows.Yeah, definitely some levels look way more impressive than others. Moon level is pretty bland.
I forgot about this game, it still is really impressive. Fun too, it would be nice if Nintendo collaborated with Shi'nen on a new F-Zero game.
I still need to beat it. Cool game, but yeah it gets a little tricky controlling 2 characters.

The Touryst. I wish we could get a Zelda-esque full-length game from Shinen some day.
Add Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and I support this list wholeheartedlyAstral Chain
Tears of the Kingdom
Prime Remaster
Luigis Mansion 3
what's the first one?For me…
And
Xenoblade 3what's the first one?
Most Nintendo fans are cultured enough to understand that Art direction and design are what truly makes a game beautiful to look at and will almost always stands the test of time compared to pure technical visual effects and polygon counts. (And not saying you can't have both)I just browsed this thread just to gauge how far behind Nintendo fandom are from the rest of industry.
Yup about a decade!
For me…
And
I'm really REALLY hoping for this so I can play Future Redeemed and get back to side quests in base gameSame
I hope Switch 2 raises up performances and resolution of Switch games in BC, I'll easily replay Astral Chain.
Definitely play Future Redeemed, not only its really good expansion but also brings all Xenoblade series in very satisfying conclusion.I'm really REALLY hoping for this so I can play Future Redeemed and get back to side quests in base game
Yeah Astral Chain is something of an under-rated gem in my memory. A graphical upgrade would be a great excuse to go back to itI hope Switch 2 raises up performances and resolution of Switch games in BC, I'll easily replay Astral Chain.
In my opinion it had one of the most unique combat system in action game. dual control character action combat is super satisfying once you master it.Yeah Astral Chain is something of an under-rated gem in my memory. A graphical upgrade would be a great excuse to go back to it
Also best pikmin game. It has a soft remake of pikmin 1 tossed in as a bonus along with other great modesNobody has mentioned Pikmin 4, but I find it pretty damn impressive for the system.
For me…

Xenoblade 3.What is the first game's title? Not everyone can identify every game by sight.
The lack of Paper Mario TTYD remaster is shocking
Hoping to do so but I'll have to attend since important matters IRL first, by the time I can have some time maybe Switch 2 is releasedDefinitely play Future Redeemed, not only its really good expansion but also brings all Xenoblade series in very satisfying conclusion.
This plus the bad camera and no traditional jump button made it super awkward to play. Really nice looking game though.Man, I wish Astral Chain would've clicked with me, but I am just too retarded to control 2 characters at the same time.
This for me. I don't like stuff like that. I'm a traditionalist with action games. I want linear levels, one character, and simple weapons and skills systems.
At least I am not alone with my inability, then. That warms my heart. This plus the bad camera and no traditional jump button made it super awkward to play. Really nice looking game though.
